Best dairy queen ever. Buster bars & dilly bars are massive. They make these in-store, and the fudge in the buster bars is FAR better than the fudge you get in the factory made buster bars. I won't buy them at any other DQ - I pretty much ONLY go to DQ when I'm driving through Rochester and it's always this one. Great service, and fast. So glad management decided to keep this open a couple weeks later this year (I was told they're closing Nov 15 2025 for the season, call to verify) - it was a very good call since the last couple weeks have been very warm for MN. On a short road trip to Rochester, I knew it was inevitable that I would end up stopping at a Dairy Queen after seeing quite a few on the highway exit signs. I'm glad that this is the one that I went to! While it's probably straight forward, I was slightly confused by the parking lot layout. It's designed to go mostly in one direction that caters to the drive thru. There's definitely a sign, but I missed it because I went in the other driveway. Anyways, I thought that the store itself had a unique charm, being that it's blue and small, but it did look aged. It came across as different from the ones that I'm used to seeing in the Twin Cities area, and that was pretty neat. I opted to go through the drive thru and was lucky that I got there when I did. A steady flow of business appeared behind me once I got to the window. I thought that the person helping me was very cheerful, which I appreciated a lot. It's always nice to be greeted by a happy individual when going through a drive thru. I ordered a small twist cone that was a little plumper than the ones that I'm used to getting, so I was stoked! The ice cream itself was really good. It was comparable to the ones in South Minneapolis, where the taste of the soft serve mixture is better than others. You never really need a reason to stop for DQ, but if you're road tripping through the area like I was, treat yourself to something here! read more

Made my annual pilgrimage to this Rochester DQ for their giant-sized Dilly Bar. It is 3X the size of other prepackaged dilly bars at the other DQS. It must be double coated in luscious cherry. There are other super-sized DQ treats on the menu as well. My favorite is the cherry Dilly Bar. Service is always friendly and fast. read more

This DQ isn't open year round but I'm pretty dang happy when it is open...mainly for the Tender Maid Sandwich season. When I see that sign go up I cannot control my urge to turn the road and go down the frontage road that leads me right to the drive-up window. They are oh-so messy to eat in the car but I do it anyhow. I love them and while I'm there I do treat myself to a chocolate malt too.....My family loves the ice cream birthday cakes so I typically have to indulge in a couple of these every year also. read more

Giving this Dairy Queen a 4 because I LOVE the Maid-Rite sandwiches (called the " Original Sandwich"). However, this Dairy Queen is always busy... And the parking lot/drive-thru lane is pretty tight... So be prepared for that. read more

Not impressed. I had a birthday deal on my dairy Queen app. Waited in line for fifteen minutes. I got to the counter and showed the cashier my app and she asked for her manager. At this point I pressed the button which started a 15 minute timer on the deal (as the app said to show code to cashier not just the deal) the manager proceeds to tell me they don't participate in the app. I also noticed while standing in line that they were not following the upside down rule with the blizzards either. Not once. So I rushed to the next location in town and got the same response. At this point my deal expired and is now unretrievable! For one I'm pissed at the company itself for not running a uniform operation or making it clear which places participate (you should not have to call around before going to get icecream for Christ sakes!) There are only a few locations in town and it appears none accept this app! I'm not impressed. As a company I believe that it should be across the board. All should be ran the same. All should support the app. All should have to follow the upside down blizzard rule as advertised. Not just locations that pick and choose what company rules and deals and perks to support or follow. That is not professional. That is not good customer service. I am not impressed. The only notice they had posted was on the door which was open when I walked in. How many people look at an already open door for notices? Nothing was posted clearly at the counter where more people would actually see it! Needless to say I will be giving my service to ice cream parlors that run professional business and have good customer service practices from now on. I will pay more for quality of service. Dairy Queen will get no more of my money or support and my family will find a small business to support instead. This is beyond rediculous. 1. Not being uniform/across the board with operation, deals, app acceptance 2. No proper notice where it is clearly visible at all times to all customers 3. Not clear about participating locations making it impossible to find one 4. Timer on coupons and deals instead of just applying a one time use code. I am done with all dairy queens because I was excited to use my birthday deal only to be left upset, disappointed, time and gas wasted, loss of the deal due to timer etc. I was very put out. I drove to more than one location for it just to get nothing out of it. I hope this reaches all the way to cooperate! Fix your crap! Either all locations participate or don't bother having it to begin with! Makes the app and the deals and advertisements pointless! read more

The service is good and the amount of ice cream served is more than any other DQ I've been to. The only thing I'd change is the tiny drive through area on busy days. They have a nice space set up for outdoor seating as well, so it's nice for the kids when they get something messy. read more

i love the dairy queen chicken strips and gravy. i went on my lunch break and venture through the subway, rochester, mn: so i could get it. i was very disappointed the fries were half done, the chicken strips too, there was no gravy and i found out i was suppose to get a sundae with the meal which i never received. i work in the hospitality industry and never do reviews because i know what effect it can have on the employees but this was just terrible. read more
