I have never been to a Culver's as I'm from the west coast. The menu is overwhelming. I'd suggest looking at their menu before walking in as my jaw must have dropped as the cashier was kindly asking me if I was ready to order. I ended up getting a combo burger meal, some cheese curds, and cookies and cream custard. The burger was delicious. The thing that took me by surprise was the breaded, deep-fried cheese curds. These were so flavorful. Imagine the best deep fried cheese stick you've ever had and multiply that by four as there is four times as much surface area to coat with that delicious breading. All the staff people were lined up in the front of the store and their light blue outfits ready to greet you. It was almost intimidating. the service was absolutely terrible. kayla the drive through told me my card "should be tap" after trying to tap my card and it wasn't a tap card. i find that comment extremely disrespectful and WILL NEVER be visiting this culver's location ever again. please teach your drive through workers to be more respectful and smarter. on top of the bad service they put chocolate in with my banana sundae that was spoused to be a banana sundae, not chocolate in it. what if i had a chocolate allergy? read more

Omg so good!! I only had the custard but wow it was so dreamy and almost buttery delicious. We did drive-thru and my bf ordered the fried pork sandwich and i got the frozen custard. Our waiter even took care of our custard since it was our first time! Is Culver's highly profitable? If so, I'll bet that type of customer service and employee autonomy is part of that success. For fast food, it is really good. Butter burgers are masterful. Fries...ok. I don't go there for the fries. Cod sandwich - so good. Like so much better than a fast food fish sandwich. This is one of the best kept secrets in the Midwest. The burgers are great and are actually better w/o cheese as the balance of flavor is better. You can tell the shakes are good quality dairy. This is a family favorite of ours. The owner is always there and consistently asks us how we are enjoying our food. The food is always fresh and tasty. Get a kids meal. You get a nice burger, salad, and drink for a decent price and get a frozen custard thrown in for free. It's a nice meal. Service is always fast. I prefer frozen custard to ice cream so I come here every so often. It isn't my favorite frozen custard but it is the only option here in Rochester so it works. I prefer the gelato place in University Square, it is closer to real frozen custard than this place. Culver's is more like soft serve to me. Some people like that though so maybe you will love it. I have only tried the food once and it was good. Greasy and unhealthy, but good. No veggie options which is a no-go for me. This and subway are really the only drive throughs we will go to, other than coffee shops. For fast food you can't beat their burgers. I have a big gripe about this place-their french fries are lousy!! I like their flavor of the days and butterburgers-but the fries have no salt or flavor and are limp! Prices are higher than your standard fast food chain; however, this is reflected in the quality of the food. Butter burgers are a little heavy for me, but I do love the cheese curds and a good custard. Both are fresh - the curds hot and crispy, and the custard milky and creamy.
