The Hot Pastrami Bagel on Asiago Cheese bagel; good.
    Keith T.

This location is convenient for Mayo Clinic patients. I had a mid-afternoon meal, the Hot Pastrami Bagel on my requested Asiago Cheese bagel, it was good and satisfying. Yes, it is in a small space and patients in wheelchairs, or crutches, will require family, or friend assistance. For me, the bagels are better than what's available in the Mayo Clinic Cafeteria.

Success! After 3 visits to Rochester I finally tracked down this elusive spot of the venerable bagel outlet. After two failed attempts I had assumed it had closed or that the info on Yelp was out of date. Here's the secret: ITS IN THE SUBWAY LEVEL beneath us Bank (go down and behind the escalator-far from an ideal spot). This place is on the small side compared to the ones I'm used to in the Twin Cities but it seems to have all the usual stuff-a dozen or so types of freshly baked bagels, coffee, juice even breakfast sandwiches. The quality is up to par so if you can find them (or just want to go on a scavenger hunt) it's a great nook for breakfast or lunch. Recommended

Not sure if I just "lucked out" with bad service?...I decided to give this place a try due to the other good reviews. The girl was rude and seemed annoyed she had to take my order. She didn't toast either of my bagel sandwiches as requested. It tasted good but was very difficult to chew due to the hard bagels. The cold brew (which she made a fuss about having to make it) tasted horrible. Since she seemed so displeased to make it, I'm not sure if it's normally supposed to taste that way or not? After this horrible experience, I do not plan on giving them another try. Good luck with your experience! Hopefully you get someone better like everyone else who reviewed this place.

Everything bagel with chive and onion cream cheese. Also a bowl of chicken and wild rice soup

Once you're in, it's a really cool space. Bright, energetic, a lot going on in a good way. You've got that steady breakfast crowd, coffee flowing, plates coming out - a fun place to sit and take it all in for a while. I ordered the Nordeaster lobster Benedict with hashbrowns and it was excellent. Big chunks of lobster, perfectly poached eggs, and a rich hollandaise that didn't overpower everything. The hash browns were crispy - just the way I like them. It's one of those meals where every bite is just...really good. You catch yourself slowing down because you don't want it to be over. The meal and experience were really, really good the whole way through. Coffee was solid too - kept it coming and it did the job. Overall, easy 5 stars. Great food, cool environment, and definitely a place I'll go back to.

We had the sharable monkey bread (wish it had more cinnamon, but that's my personal preference). My wife had The Standard and the eggs were cooked perfectly (over medium) with bacon, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough. She's not really a breakfast potato person, but I kept reaching across the table to nab her perfectly twice fried hunks of deliciousness. I had the Chorizo & Cheese Tot Hash. I was a little surprised that it came with four (giant) tots, but once cut up it didn't matter. The chorizo was... odd. I'm from L.A. and whatever this chorizo was it wasn't made with the traditional seasonings I would expect from a chorizo. Nonetheless, it was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. The sauce really put the whole thing over the edge. Can't wait to come back and try something different to explore the menu further on our next visit to Rochester.

Just wanted a bit more sauce. The salmon was cooked well with a crispy skin underneath. Flavors played together nicely with the textures. We enjoyed the dessert as the textures (there's a theme here) had great interplay with the flavors in the dish. Only wish that pastry was hot. The ambience is nice and chill. It can feel a bit cramped but gives kinda a speakeasy vibe meets hipster. Note that finding parking is a bit challenging here. There are two booths on the window that would make excellent date spots. The reason for the rating is due to the service. I made a reservation for the spot and made reference to it being our anniversary. However, nothing was done to reference the reason for the dinner. I had never been there and didn't know about the booth availability. The place was busy but we didn't get much attention (menus were left on the table, didn't get small plates to eat the Drummies properly, got one refill of water toward the end, etc). I felt bad about this rating because I've read people enjoying the experience. However, this is what I experienced. The food is great. Service could be better.

Our family came here when we had relatives in the hospital decades ago. I came here with my wife and her older parents. The menu is very classic, old-school diner. My wife and I are both vegetarian. When you go in, you can pretty immediately see the demographic...and it's not necessarily young vegetarian couples! It's a buzzy atmosphere with many older customers. We were served quickly so no complaints there. They also have a clearly labeled vegetarian menu. We ordered the cheese curds -- no complaints. For our mains, we ordered a mushroom burger and a pilaf dish (I think it was Hawaiian)? These were...fine. Mediocre, but serviceable. Our carnivore family didn't seem too impressed by their food either. I will say that the portions are very generous. They also have great senior deals. I won't be coming back, but this is a preference thing rather than a comment on quality, especially when so many great vegetarian options are available in Rochester.
