We've ordered carry out twice now from this location. Our first experience was very good, but I wanted to visit again for confirmation. The food is really good. Bear in mind it's a sub shop. My wife had the Turkey breast, I had the pepperoni pizza meatball sub, which I believe is a "limited time" menu item. We both enjoyed our subs and I'd love to see the pizza meatball sub become a regular menu item. I think they have the best subs in Rochester, certainly better than the competition, in my experience. The menu includes sandwiches, soups and a few sides. There are several items I'd still like to try. The order process is smooth. I ordered through the website and was able to easily customize both our subs, as well as reorder from our previous visit. Even earned some points. Based on what we got, it looks like we'll have enough points for a free item after about 4 visits. That's not bad. Prices, for what you get, are reasonable. No issues there. The folks working there during my visits were very friendly and welcoming. And they got my order right both times, which I appreciated. My order was ready right when I arrived both times. Overall, it is a bright, clean restaurant, with plenty of parking and a nice location. There is a drive through, which I haven't used. Took my daughter as we drove by wondering if it's any good. . Inside the place is overly decorated but tolerable. We looked over the menu. My daughter ordered a meatball sub . I asked for a small and was asked to upgrade because of size . I ordered a firehouse salad. I was told it doesn't come with meat and the description says three kinds of meat . I was asked if I wanted a add chicken . Our bill was around $20 with only 1 combo meal and a brownie . I didn't even get a drink . The food took about 15 minutes . Much longer then expected. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The hot sauce bar is a great idea but how often do these bottles get changed and checked/cleaned ? I still prefer Jimmy Johns . read more

Firehouse in Rochester won't start your order until they see the whites of your eyes. Ordered for pick-up through Uber Eats and the app said "should be ready". When I arrived they said 8-10 minutes for them to make it up. They say they wait until you arrive before queuing your order because they don't know when you'll arrive. So I went to the nearby Kwik Trip to get gas while they made my order. Got back and they said "we thought you left" I went to get gas! I knew it was 8-10 minutes. They saw the whites of my eyes. It was pre-paid. Isn't it on me if I get there after the order has been sitting there for 10 minutes, or in fact never show? So I had to sit there and wait for them to put my order together. read more

Firehouse Subs recently opened and figured it was time to try it out. First impressions it looks like a typical sub shop with a Rochester firehouse flare to it. I went during the lunch hour and was busy, but only 3 people ahead of me. I order the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket with nothing else total= $10.39+ tax. The sub tasted good with no complaints the only issue was the wait took around 10 mins with me and 7+ other people looking at each other wondering when we were getting our food. Went for lunch one day when it wasn't to busy. I had the traditional meatball sub on wheat and Mac and cheese. Honestly it was flavorless, you can tell the meatballs are premade frozen ones and have no flavor, sauce tasted like it was basic jarred/canned spaghetti sauce cooked down. Honestly was disappointed hoped that being a place founded by firemen that the flavors would be more on point but unfortunately they weren't I may go back to try a different sub but I'm not expecting to much. Food was delicious. Service was atrocious from the time we ordered in the till the time we had our food was almost 15 minutes. We sat in the drive-through after paying for our food for 10 minutes. At that point the server came to the window and told us that they cannot see our order on their screen and there was nothing on the screen and then proceeded to tell us how busy they were. Having discovered Firehouse Subs in Madison, WI years ago, I was happy to find it in Rochester. I had fond memories of a delicious Brisket and Cheddar, which I ordered here and was ready within a few minutes. Maybe I had too high of expectations or had built up that memory a bit too much, because although this sandwich was good, it didn't knock my socks off like my previous experience. Or maybe the recipe has changed. Or maybe it really wasn't quite as good. Hard to say. Regardless... the sandwich was good. The service was nice. The brownie was fine. Not amazing, but good. The guys that work there ignored me standing right in front of them while they talked about a truck owned by one's mom, I had to interrupt them to ask if they'd take my order. I could tell they weren't pleased about it. It takes three guys nearly ten minutes to make two sandwiches, and it's easy to tell they're not happy about being there. The service was terribly unfriendly. We took the sandwiches to go, otherwise I'd have asked for a refund. When we opened our sandwiches, (I'm not exaggerating) the club had far more mayonnaise than meat and the other sub had so much mayo and bbq sauce that you could not taste anything else, both served on soggy bread, with a flat soda. Rochester has no shortage of sub sandwich shops, you'd do well to choose one of the others. read more

I've been here 3 times and probably never again. The first time it took almost 45 minutes to get 2 sandwiches! So, thinking I was in to them I called and ordered ahead. Waited 15 minutes AFTER I got there in line to pay. Sandwiches weren't made... nothing. So third time ordered through the app. Again everything a disaster. They get one star for being friendly to kids when you go in, but otherwise none. The one time we went inside we had a good experience.
