Oh happy day!! Princeton finally has Dairy Queen back, and it's a winner. Expected this first day to be a rough one, but they had their ducks in a row!! We walked in to a very busy place, but there were lots of employees and smiling faces greeting us amidst their hard work!! We didn't have to wait long to order, and my picky eating forced the order taker to have to really explore her monitor to perfect my particular demands. She got great coaching from her (I'm guessing) manager, and I was ordered and paid out in no time! We took our number tent, walked past the long freezer full of beautiful ice cream cakes and boxes of traditional DQ treats to the drink fountain. We filled our drinks, sat down, and before I could finish checking in on Facebook, our order was brought to us! DQ Dude combo for the husband, chicken taco salad for me, no sour cream, with salsa and a drink! Dude and fries came out hot and fresh, mayo on both sides of the bun just like it's supposed to be. Taco salad had hot beans, hot chicken, cool lettuce and cheese and such - done perfectly! We were checked on a couple times by a couple of employees to make sure we had what we needed and were satisfied. I heard lots of employees giving and receiving compliments to team workers, what a positive thing to hear. Place was super clean, super busy, and a super experience! Looking forward to going back for more of our favorite DQ menu items soon. I know first days are often tough, and I suspect they'll only be busier as they go on and may hit some bumps, but kudos to such a great start! read more

(2 Stars) December 11, 2025 I had the Dr. Pepper Patty Melt on this visit and it was unfortunately pretty awful. I really enjoy Dairy Queen for their ice cream and Blizzards, but the hot food has rarely been very good, and this just confirmed it for me. The sandwich didn't have good flavor, the sauce didn't work, and overall it just wasn't enjoyable. I'll continue to stop here for ice cream only, because that's where Dairy Queen really shines -- but I wouldn't recommend the hot food based on this experience. The ambience was also dead no Christmas music or any music was playing like normal. The service was good. read more

I've visited this location a few times and each time I come in they're closed before the posted time .

So apparently this location has the lobby open only when they feel like it although the door states it should be open forcing patrons to wait in the ridiculously long drive through line. UNACCEPTABLE. read more

This Dairy Queen has struggled for quite a while with their whole operation. Like most fast-food restaurants now they are staffed with kids who are totally ill prepared for any responsibility. And I'm referring to the so called "managers"! I once told a couple of giggling kids at the window this wasn't play time, it was their job. They just looked at me a laughed. Easy to make light when you're not the one spending excessive time in long drive thru lines because "employees" can't get it together. I have been avoiding this location for some time now due to the above reasons. However, since there aren't many choices in Princeton, TX. And the fact I have always liked DQ, I recently decided to give them another try. Encouraged to see the sign out front which said, "under new management", I walked inside and ordered the number one Hunger Buster meal. The service was fairly quick and kind. But the burger was one of the worst in memory from any DQ I've been in, I'm 65 and have been going to DQ since I was a kid. To add insult to injury, the French fries were overdone and seemed old. I left saddened but am hopeful the new management will get a handle on issues and turn things around here. Still, as long as they have the Blizzard and kids who can spin that up while horsing around, maybe they'll be okay, I don't know. But they might be in trouble if there were a Braum's in town. Dairy Queen is an 84-year-old chain. Over the years, it has largely been staffed by young people, contributing to its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. So, get it together kids, because it ain't play time, and it would be a real shame to see this American tradition go away. read more

Service is terrible here especially evenings since there is nothing but lazy kids working at that time. Have gone before 9:30 a few times and they start with the "kitchen is closed" . They need to stay home or be on if the one at the door welcoming you in at Walmart if they want to be that lazy. Hope management does better at severing their works soon. read more

I have gone several times and my food is never hot. The cheese is always unmelted on my burger and the patty is room temp. Not the most enticing combo. Matter of fact I don't actually recall anyone actually cooking burgers back there. I'm pretty sure all of it is cooked before hand and they slap it together real quick. Nope nope. We went in the other day cause my husband wanted his beloved steak fingers and we got a DQ, but they were all out of steak fingers. We tried them again today and yes they had steak fingers. We waited for about 20 minutes, confused because the drive thru was busy, but the inside was dead. They had like 20 ppl working there, but only half ( the drive thru ppl I guess) were actually doing something. My husband finally got his fingers, and he liked the fingers, but the fries were not only cold....but STALE ! I was shocked ! How do you have cars around the block and stale fries ? Worse experience at a DQ by far had 4-5 employees standing around and manger with cowboy hat just chatting while cars in drive through waited for over 5-10min for small orders. I just ordered a small blizzard got charged and my blizzard was on the counter the whole time melting after the cashier turned around and chatted with the Cowboy manager she finally handed it to me. I asked for a double cheeseburger without the cheese and no onions or tomatoes w fries and a chocolate sundae. I got home. No sundae. Every single fry was limp and mushy and or mushy. My burger was a burger. Single patty w onions and tomatoes. I understand that they are new but even on my first day of cooking fries I would cook them long enough for them to be considered fries. Unfortunately I have no other options but to take everything off the single patty and just throw away the fries. I'll drive the opposite direction and get my burger the way I want for less money in the next town. Will not return. read more

We hadn't been to this Dairy Queen in almost a year because the service and food/ice cream were always terrible (missing items, hot foods were cold, blizzards did not have nearly enough mix-ins). WORST customer service in Princeton. They serve shakes in clear plastic cups that freeze your hand. I asked them to put my shake in a paper cup like the other Dairy Queens do and you would have thought I asked for a free shake. On our way now to Farmersville Dairy Queen where they are much nicer. Boycott the Princeton Dairy Queen. We went to the DQ for dinner tonight and I looked up at the menu board and ordered a #5 chicken sandwich. The girl rang it up and charged my card. As I'm headed for a table I am looking at the receipt. I notice my #5 rang up as a Jalapeño ranch burger so I get her attention to correct it and she said she would. We go find a seat and in a few minutes the manager comes over and proceeds to tell me that a #5 is not a chicken sandwich. I pointed to the menu board and told him it clearly shows to be a chicken sandwich. He then argues with me that the board is not correct and the chicken sandwich is not what I ordered, and that they have laminated sheets of paper showing the correct menu. Well you know me. I told him i don't give a crap about the paper menu and that I ordered a chicken sandwich, and it's his problem to fix the menu board. The manager then said let's step outside. I said let's go! Once outside he proceeded to tell me that I coped an attitude with him and I need to get the hell out of his restaurant. I responded with "thats not gonna happen. I paid for food and I'll not leave until I get it, and told him that I was at my table minding my own business until he brought the attitude to me." We argued and eventually went back in. They brought me a chicken sandwich which cost less than the jalapeño ranch burger they charged me for, and then he didn't want to refund the difference. I had to make another scene after he tried to brush me off to help another customer. I got his attention, but this guy has no business managing a restaurant. He clearly doesn't care about or know anything about customer service. Kathryn's order had the Jalito's that were overcooked and cooked in dirty grease. They should have never been served. I tried to take a photo of the menu board showing the chicken sandwich, but they turned the monitor off before I got the picture. Princeton is hurting for good places to eat and now we strike another one off our list. read more

Wow what awesome service and great friendly staff, we had baseball tournaments all day Saturday and we were extremely tired and very hungry, we stopped in at DQ at 9:15 pm on a Saturday night we felt bad because it was 13 of us , great hot food and very friendly attentive staff a manager stopped by at our table making sure everything was good !! We stayed until 10:45 pm and we were able to unwind and time for blizzards and sundaes !! So thankful for a DQ in Princeton TX. read more

Imagine my surprise when I was able to not only find DQ in Princeton to check into (after only being open a couple of days) but to see actual reviews and not get to be "first to review." All in all, this was a good visit. You could tell most of the staff were brand new, but they were all very polite and asked questions of the others who obviously came from other locations. From the looks of some of the other reviews and the parking lot when we have driven past since open, it has been pretty busy. We got here at ~10:30 AM on a cold and rainy day though, so it was pretty quiet. We got two chicken strip baskets, a large dumpling soup and a large Reese's Outrageous Blizzard for the family to share for lunch. The baskets were exactly the same as elsewhere, which is a good thing at the current price of $4.99 and since their gravy is excellent. The soup was tasty and fit the mood of the weather, but it was definitely overpriced. Close to $5 for a small single serving cup. The Blizzard had a lot of toppings/filling, but it was mostly Reese's Pieces. That's not a problem in and of itself, but the lack of cups, etc. was unexpected and not like that Blizzard prepared elsewhere. I'll take extra chunks all day though. My real disappointment was when I asked about the $5/$6 lunches that are on the website and available elsewhere and was told that the only lunch special they had was the tender basket. Horrible Customer Service. I work for a delivery service and I went to pick up an order for one of our customers. I was in line for 7 minutes before I was able to even get to the ordering menu. When I arrived to the ordering menu I told them I was picking up an order for a delivery service. They asked me to pull up to the window. When I got to the window they told me they were a little behind and to pull up the front of the line, they were going to bring it out to me. Just to clarify, this order was one (1) ice cream. I moved forward, as asked, and waited an additional 25 minutes. I watched four other vehicles behind me get served bags of food. Finally , AFTER, the drive thru had cleared out and I STILL didn't have my customer's food I backed up to the drive thru window. I sat there for a few minutes waiting for someone to come to the window. At one point, one guy walked by the window and smiled at me, but just kept walking by. I honked my horn. Still no one came to the window. I honked a second time, and another gentleman walked by the window and held his finger up like "hold on". Still no one actually approached the window to talk to me. FINALLY, after I sat there for another few minutes a gentleman brought me the ice cream. I asked to speak with a manager. The "manager", came to the window. When I asked him what happened, he proceeded to laugh and tell me "we just forgot about you because we were serving the other vehicles food". I asked for his supervisors information and I was told "I don't have a contact number for him, so you will need to come up here to talk to him. He will be here at 4 pm today." What was the MOST shocking was that then he proceeded to tell me that HIS supervisor "wasn't going to care that I had to wait and that I had been forgotten about." Then I was told to "have fun" and the drive thru window was shut in my face. I immediately filed a complaint with DQ Headquarters. A few days later the Franchisee (Owner) of this DQ location called me back. He asked for my side of the story, and when I was finished he told me that the manager takes medication and that he probably just didn't take it that day. Then I was told to come in between the hours of 11am and 2pm and get a free ice cream cone.....ha ha ha. Let me be very clear here to anyone reading this post......... My own teenage son has THE SAME medical condition that this "manager" takes medication for. I can assure you that the said medical condition was NOT the issue that day. WHAT A JOKE. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING AS A CUSTOMER AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION. SAVE YOURSELF THE Embarrassment AND DRIVE TO MCKINNEY! read more
