This place was not as crowded as the only one in Manhattan but customers kept coming in. I had the Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard® Treat and my husband had Oreo® Cookies Blizzard® Treat. Ordered a small shake and medium shake at the window. Only received the ($4.99)medium shake. Employee thought for some reason we didn't want the small shake. Cleared it up. No big deal. So we asked for the ($3.99)small shake. Got charged $5.00 for the small shake.. Even though we were clear about ordering a small shake and medium shake, we were basically up charged for the small shake because of the error on the employee's part. When we asked why we were charged the extra, we were told "because there's a minimum $5 charge." And we said "yeah, but our entire order met that minimum when we gave it to you the first time." No effort was made to correct the error. Not even a suggestion to use cash because of the $5 minimum. Used to come here a lot when I was little. We haven't been here in years. Food was bad. The chicken tasted like plastic and it wasn't even hot. My friends got ice cream and it was already melting by the time they got their order. We were dining at the outdoor seating area in front of the DQ and somebody from management approached us and asked us to leave. Unsure why we were asked to leave, but as we were collecting our stuff the lady continues to yell at us. Management attitude was disgusting. Came here after snowboarding with the crew since we were craving ice cream. There was only one man working in this tiny little shack with two outdoor picnic seating and the line was probably 10 people long with NO organization at all- people were jumping into line, cutting, not waiting their turn and thinking it's okay, smh. Anyways, I got myself a cotton candy blizzard-pretty decent!!! but price wise it's pretty pricey since you can probably get a pint of ice cream for cheaper... but regardless, we all enjoyed our little treat , especially after waiting so long (probably waited 20-30 minutes), and went our separate ways. I wouldn't really choose this place to be my number one but hey, this place definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. read more

I went to get ice cream for my family on Memorial day. When I got there a kid took my order not wearing a mask. At first I didn't think anything of it because I thought maybe he just took it off for a moment to fest his face. Wearing a mask all day is uncomfertable. But he didn't put one on to make my food. I asked another who was wearing a mask why the kids wasn't wearing a mask. He said he would have to get the owner. I told them that I will not take any food that is prepared by anyone not wearing a mask. The kid without the mask walked to the back and hid. Once I got my food the manager came. He also was not wearing a mask. He asked what was wrong. I question him as to why he and the other individual were not wearing masks when it's been ordered by an executive order under a state of emergency and anyone working with others, and around or with customers has to wear a mask let alone serving food. His response was one of ignorance. "We are choosing not too" I told him he doesn't get to choose and convayed my distance for his ignorant decision. He had the audacity to tell me he has been doing this for 30 years and knows how not to cough or sneeze in people's food. I also let him know that I have worked through this pandemic as an essential worker and have been wearing a mask as ordered the whole time, and not just because it was ordered, but because it is the right thing to do to keep everyone safe. He bowed his head in shame. If you want to sit around at home and believe that this pandemic is fake or whatever, I don't care. But to disregard orders set forth to protect people is down right disrespectful of your patrons and puts everyone's life in danger. I believe that the manage was one of the owners. Took my daughter to the batting cages behind DQ the owner is such a nice man. He helped us get started and everything was great. Right after my girls wanted ice cream, so why not drop into DQ, convenient right? Ok...so we walk in and my girls are going over the menu which is pretty bug unless you "know" what you are having in this case not all of us did. Within in one minute a window slams open and says can I help you? Appalled at the abruptness I get compelled to start my order. So since one daughter knew what she wanted I started explaining that she wants the smallest size on a cone again the smallest size some places use JR or small or mini idk in this case it would have been KIDDIE...I specified SMALLEST...they said ok...with attitude the bring me the cone and it was a typical small, when I saw it I knew just by being here a few days before that it was larger than the size we had last time. So I said is that the smallest with the most attitude one can have she replies yes...I'm an adult keep in mind this is a child. My oldest is 27. Her attitude was so unprofessional and quite insulting. I give the next order to a guy who comes to me with slick attitude too and say may I help you like I'm the problem! So I tell him annoyed now...a small mango pineapple smoothie (which my daughter mentions after the whole fiasco that it tasted nothing like pineapple or mango so they probably gave the wrong thing too. So I proceed to give my order now that we established after the fact that it's a kiddie I want a kiddie swirl with crunch. They give me sprinkles mind you I agreed to pay for the small cone they gave my kid. Ok fine. THESE ARE KIDS. I'm a woman the first chic look like she wanted a piece of me like I ruined her day let's keep in mind the store is empty no one in the store. They come and give me this look like I'm a Karen! Listen we all have bad days I get it. I can forgive that. But two employees not just one honestly says a lot about your staff. You are there to provide a service DQ is open a few months it's a summer job you get paid minimum wage I get it. But you don't treat people like that or charge people for what they don't order. Etc. Bottom line I paid for the stuff and grabbed my ice cream and dumped it right in the garbage. She's lucky she wasn't my age because that could have been ugly. You don't treat people like that and think it's ok. Who are these kids parents? The right thing to do was first say, when you are ready ma'am let me know take your time. Then explain the sizes then if it's wrong correct it. The customer is always right. They played that reverse psychology crap by looking at me like I'm crazy. They don't know crazy here in Vernon. I'm from the city. But you know it's nothing more than the principal and I see other comments of the same thing more or less. Guess it's hard to find people these days capable to do the right job. Guess we will continue to go to dairy swirl. They are kids that work there too but they are helpful and nice. We all have options these day. You just take your business somewhere else. I love this Dairy Queen!!! This is the closest Dairy Queen to me and by far the best one ever. Everytime I get my original order of a chocolate butterfinger blizzard it is perfect. The cup is always overflowing, they always get it right, and there are so many pieces of butterfinger grout hour the whole blizzard . This place really knows what they are doing . The workers are also very nice and polite and in a good mood which you don't see to often these days. I will be visiting many times this summer! read more
