A long time favorite that has really dropped off. I give out 2 stars because the staff is always wonderful at this location. If it weren't for that, they'd get 1. Our family has been going here for as long as I can remember. Any time we'd drive anywhere near the Pompano area, or just because we wanted a special treat from them. But over the years the size of the soft serve has become almost non existent! I wish i had a picture of my last serving some time last year. I swear it was about an inch high for a kids cone. All while the price increases! I will include a picture of Mr. Freeze in Toledo, OH where for about $3-4 the soft serve was about 6" high, and that was bc I had to beg her to stop going!! Point being, Dairy Queen: BE GENEROUS! And keep your customers. read more

If looks could kill!!!! There was no need for the young lady working tonight Monday march 31 to go out of her way to not only treat us rudely, but went out of her way to turn around after making a mistake on my order that I wasn't even upset about and give me the dirtiest look you could give. Great service and fair ingredients in blizzard. Unlike the RT 1 location in Fort Lauderdale. They give you half of the ingredients. Friendly and nice. Every visit is with a smile, both the worker and me, the customer. I have been going too much!! Very pleasant location. Easier in and out than the other location for sure. read more

I love eating here my three top favorites are Chocolate Ice cream Cone, Hot dog with ketchup and mayonnaise and lastly the Oreo blizzard and they have super fair prices. They also have outdoor sitting and two bathrooms that are for both genders and a Drive thru. read more

Can't remember the last time I was at a dairy queen... this one is conveniently located on federal highway. You order at the window and choose an outside table. Some are under cover and even out of the sun. They do a big kid's business and lots of tourists stop by. But at lunch, they are even busy with locals. We were there at an off hour so rubbing shoulders with tourists in bathing suits and shorts. Just craving a taste for a dessert snack , I opted for a vanilla soft serve cone dipped in chocolate. The hard shell was a nice contrast to the soft vanilla and yes, I peeled off the paper holder and ate the cone! Usually in the past I order one of their sundaes... I know I'll be back when in the neighborhood -- for a taste of my childhood -- just forgot that I really Ike them and prices are not outrageous considering how pricey gelato and premium ice cream places the today. read more

The best soft serve cones in the area. Some might suggest McDonalds but this appears true ice cream. I'll take mine dipped as do both kids, but momma likes them plain. Whatever happened to sugar cones, luckily these work best with plain cake type cones. This location is just across from where we service our truck. We love to bounce thru the drive-in and there is some outside seating for those wanting the old fashioned experience. Employees are always nice and usually quite accommodating too. read more

Had a craving of a dipped cone so I came to Diary Queen! I tried the orange dip which to be honest wasn't a strong orange flavor. I don't know if it was at end of the container or whatever they use. Visiting Fort Lauderdale for the day, I came across this Dairy Queen while driving north on Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. Modern, clean and efficient - I ordered a 16 ounce Peanut Butter Malt at the drive-thru window. Service was friendly and polite, malt was made just right. Total price out the door was $3.17, including tax. From my vantage view in the parking lot, the place is very clean compared to the rest of the neighborhood. Dairy Queen reminds me of the ice cream I got as a child. Beautiful, soft, lickable ice cream. Back then, they called it frozen custard. It's the most vivid food memories that I have. (except maybe my grandmother's spaghetti and meatballs) Dairy Queen has the best soft ice cream in town. Sold by a very friendly staff, you can go in and get it or use the convenient outside window. I like nothing better than driving home with my wonderfully tasty vanilla cone melting on my thirsty tongue! You can get your ice cream dipped in chocolate or with sprinkles, but I'm a guy who likes it plain, without any accoutrements. You can keep all the frozen yogurt, gelato, smoothies, or whatever. I can't remember the last time that I had a Dairy Queen ice cream. I just recently moved to Pompano Beach and was excited when I saw there is a DQ down the street. This location is right on US1 - very busy street. The parking is a bit of a hassle so I tend to use the drive thru. There's only a handful of spots to park which is an inconvenience if you want to get off and order inside. Not a make it or break it issue but definitely something to address. The ice cream here is always fresh and the employees are extremely friendly and welcoming. read more

This is a great DQ located on US1 in Pompano. It is a walk up location with several windows available to place your order. They have plenty of tables placed around, all outside, but the area is kept pretty clean. This DQ also offers a drive thru which is great, but can sometimes be a hazard when trying to dodge traffic to get back to your car. Parking and traffic is really the only issue for this location, as parking spots are limited. The employees are friendly, efficient, and serve great ice cream! Try a Blizzard or a chocolate dipped cone. So good! read more

April 2022, the staff could not be any nicer. Kenton, who waited on us was great. There is plenty of seating outside and they keep the area clean. Every time we drive by at night the place is lit up and crowded. Honestly, looks like a great place to shoot a movie scene. My friend ordered the Frozen Hot Chocolate Drink, that had not real wiped cream and drizzle with chocolate. She said it tasted delicious. I ordered kids cup with Vanilla soft ice cream, strawberry sauce and ButterFinger topping. I thought the cup tasted good. Then I ordered the hot Pretzel Sticks that were delicious, soft with just enough salt on top. If I could give 0 stars for this experience I would. I understand places get busy and sometimes accidents happen, but I don't believe that was the case. I ordered a Oreo blizzard and first of all, the lady slammed my cup and had an attitude. Secondly, as I'm eating my ice cream I find gummy worms, 9 in total. That's not an accident, that is just pure laziness. By the time I realized the place was already closed so there wasn't much I could do. Just a really bad experience. Such a bummer. read more

I like this Dairy Queen! Usually when I come here I always receive fast great service. The workers here are very good. Me and my boyfriend come here and get there Oreo Blizzard which is very good. I did notice how they mix the topping, I don't really taste that much Oreo. So last time I told them a certain way to mix my ice cream and they did it and it turn out so delicious. I see a lot of people get there soft serve ice cream cone which looks very good too. I will have to try there other ice creams one day. I think their flip method with the Blizzard are cool as well. read more

My advice when having an ice cream cone here is keep an eye on the person filling your order. On two separate occasions I've had the server grip the cone above the paper that's factory installed on the cone to prevent ones fingers from being all over what you inevitably eat. The first time It happened I requested another cone less the contact and was looked at like I had two heads. I understand the servers here are young and don't make much but isn't it elementary you don't touch food with you unwashed, ungloved hands and isn't someone training or supervising? The second time I said nothing and ate just the ice cream above the cone. My dog was pissed because she usually gets the last bite of the cone but instead she wound up treat less. Hey manager/owner.....train your people. read more

The ice cream is fine but my dreamsicle dip cone (which I get frequently) was handed to me with a thin, cracked, drippy coating, not how it usually looks. I asked them to redip it or give me a new one please and the men couldn't be more rude, saying they could remake it a hundred times and it'll be the same. Brand new store on the site of an old gas station. Has a drive thru and two walk up windows. The rare community gathering place where families walk and drive to form a line for the sweet eats daily. What more can I say? I love DQ ice cream and they do it right. The staff is always friendly and I always have changes to the standard items as I'm difficult. They do it with a smile. Most dairy queens I've been to are fairly sketchy not only inside but also the characters that frequent them. However, this dq is a game changer. Fast drive through and walk up window, old school theme and reminds me of "dazed and confused." I expected girls to roll out on skates like sonics. The patties were under seasoned but I just added a bit of table salt and it did the job. I've had better burgers but I like that it was over 1/2 a lb of beef. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! The "heat smash" came out with arugula on it, which is not mentioned on the menu. But worse, it wasn't hot at all, the patties were almost nonexistent, there was absolutely no heat, and the bun was totally dry and crumbly. We talked to the server about how this didn't seem to be the same burger and she said the menu had wrong information. Speaking of the menu - it's always been bad but it's somehow even worse now. The problem isn't that you can only access it with a QR code. The menu has annoying drop downs and the burgers are closer to the bottom. It reloads at different places. It's the worst. And I paid $16 for a burger I didn't eat. The fries came out hot at least. Not worth it.
