It's a genuine smashed burger. My first bite of the meat that went outside the bun had me worried that it was overcooked, but it ultimately was just that piece as the rest of it was good and what you'd want from a smash burger. I got a double - which I'd recommend since the patties are on the somewhat smaller side, and really loved the burger. The fries were surprisingly average to my taste. Cut similar to McDonald's, but I didn't find they had much taste and were quite oversalted. Actually, they were very oversalted. I imagine that was a mistake on whoever was doing fries and otherwise they would be average but passible fries. But someone preferring thin cut may feel otherwise. My wife really enjoyed her strawberry milkshake. It doesn't look like it's from ice cream, but rather a cream base that they put in a frother for quite a bit of time. That also held up the order since there others had ordered shakes too, but ultimately it was a very good shake and can't hold that against them. It definitely came out nice and light.

It's a small old-school diner conveniently by Kipling TTC/GO station. I tried their cheeseburger and poutine. For the price, the cheeseburger is not too special but I really enjoyed the poutine - the gravy melted the cheese perfectly. One of the downsides is they only accept cash. You are also able to customize your burger.

This place is old Etobicoke architecture, in stark contrast to the shiny new condos, Scotiabank, and Farm Boy across the street. But I'd be lying if I said I don't have a soft spot in my heart for classic Toronto buildings, so in I went. The decor is funky retro dinerish. From seeing the ATM as the first thing before the counter started, and the fact the guy before me paid in cash, I intuited that this might be cash only, although I didn't confirm that since I actually had some of the folding stuff on me. A cheeseburger, small chocolate shake and French fries set me back $17.05. Not cheap, but not too much more than other fast food in Toronto. From what I saw from the other orders in front of mine, they have a wide menu selection including grilled chicken, steak, and veggie burgers. Also, the bacon they were adding to other sandwiches looked tasty too! The cashier was pleasant and the sandwich assembly line was efficient, and soon I was sitting down with my meal. The place was constantly busy while I was there. The fries were really good. Crisp but fluffy, not greasy, and unsalted, because as an adult, I could pick up one of the provided salt shakers and choose where I wanted my blood pressure set as opposed to the chef deciding for me. I actually didn't add anything because they were so good plain. The burger looked like someone had used ground beef and not a liquid slurry. It was passable, a very clean flavor. It sounds hypocritical to say I would have liked a bit more salt in the burger, but, well, guilty. But I appreciated the homemade feeling of the texture, a nice chew without being rubbery. And the bun was nicely toasted too. The shake came from a shake machine, and tasted exactly like that. Nice and thick, nothing special, but it hit the spot.. It's not a destination location by any means, but if you're in the area and looking for a burger, this is a fine choice.

The Food The meal itself was a bit of a mixed bag, especially considering the price point. The fries look and taste exactly like McDonald's fries--which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you love fast-food fries, but it feels overpriced for a sit-down or specialty burger joint. The burger itself hits very close to a classic Quarter Pounder with Cheese, though it does feature a subtle, nice flame-broiled flavor that elevates it slightly. The real standout on the sweet side, however, was the doughnuts. They are absolutely great and well worth trying. Service & Vibe On the plus side, the staff here is incredibly nice and welcoming. Service was prompt and friendly, which made the visit pleasant. Overall, it's a decent 3/5 experience. The food tastes fine, but because it mimics major fast-food chains so closely at a premium price tag, it's hard to see this place lasting much longer unless they tweak the value proposition.

I would say the Acme burger that I have is the 4 ounce on a brioche bun it's it is perfection. It's got great flavor. You can choose your own toppings and as a combo I chose their french fries , hand cut Canadian Yukon Gold, honestly better than anything I've been finding in the market, done to perfection and gravy, which is the gravy we call bad Diner Gravy which means it's really good gravy.! Sweet staff in the shop - and they make their own iced tea. Nice flavour and honestly better than the standard nester. With less sugar I'm told! The Square One location is small, with about five or six booths and five or six tables. There are also some tables set up outside the restaurant, in the mall walkway. When we arrived, there were two booths available. You place your order by Kiosk and Ordering is by kiosk which then activates a "buzzer" which you take to your table and wait for the order to be ready. We ordered three Shack Stacks and two orders of fries. The burgers were pretty good, but I was expecting them to be better for some reason. They are very similar to Burger's Priest, and I believe that Burger's Priest copied their menu. Comparing them to Burger's Priest, I would have to say that Burger's Priest is a bit better than Shake Shack. The fries at Shake Shack are frozen crinkle cut fries, but that is what they are known for. The prices for the burgers, and especially the fries, are very high for what you get, however it is Shack Shack. Would I return? Probably not because for this price point, there are a lot of other options to choose and other "local" burger places.

The place itself is pretty simple, more of a casual spot. Not super aesthetic or anything, but it's clean and works for a quick meal. It was busy when I went, so clearly a popular spot. We got a few things: the Oklahoma Fried double smash, the classic double, and the truffle mushroom Swiss double. The burgers were good, like no complaints, but I'll be honest they were kinda mid compared to the hype. The patties were cooked well and everything tasted fresh, but nothing really stood out or made me think wow I need this again. The onion rings were sooo good though. Easily the best part of the meal. Super crispy, not greasy, and just done perfectly. I'd go back just for those. It is a bit pricey though. The burgers are like $14-$18, and once you add sides it adds up pretty fast. For what you get, it does feel a little expensive. Service was good, everything came out pretty quick which I liked. Overall, it's a decent spot and worth trying once, but it didn't fully live up to the hype for me. I'd probably rate it around a 7/10, mainly carried by the onion rings lol.
