I was pleasantly surprised to find Goûter's third location while running errands. I popped in to see what the interior was like and decided to return to dine in. They carry a number of items including fresh baked bread, prepared soups, quiche, desserts, pastries, and frozen items. It is also a cafe so you can grab a coffee and sit in their seating area. It's in an industrial area so I'm not sure what the building used to be; however, the place is very bright with large windows. Today, I enjoyed the ham and cheese croissant with the carrot and ginger soup followed by the salted caramel cheesecake. The soup was very gingery, which was nice for a cold day like today. Apparently their French Onion is the most popular soup so I have to give it a try next. Can't wait to return! It's a good find for this Etobicoke transplant who misses her 'hometown.' Good for: baked goods, pastries, soups

The butter tart was reallly good. Definitely one of the better butter tarts I've ever had. Top 3 fa sho. The crust was super buttery and the filling was the right amount of sweetness. At the same time, there's no way I could eat two of these in one sitting because the sweetness was just enough lol. One tart gives me my fix. Also the filling to crust ratio was just right. The almond croissant was just ok. The actual pastry was nice. Buttery and flakey but there was barely any almond filling and the little that the croissant did have, was pretty underwhelming. I do appreciate that there was no artificial almond flavour in the filling. Tasted like pure almonds. The chocolate chip cookie was exactly as the the owner described, crunchy on the edges, chewy in the middle. I liked it but it's a little too thin. I didn't try the raspberry croissant, as my bf ate that but he said it was good lol. No complaints from him. I would defs come back, as I feel like the quality is there. Their ice cream flavours are super enticing too :D

Great staff, decent ice creamy…read more If the server educated us on how the ice cream is made it is family owned and made in-house and I believe she called it custard base and they have rotating flavors. We tried The salted caramel espresso, the vanilla, the strawberry, so overall what I would say is the ice cream is very mild and none of the ice cream flavors were that rich it did feel like a healthier alternative which is not bad but if you are someone who likes your ice cream to be a lot sweeter not sure that they have that type of option. I also tried the charcoal cone which I thought was delicious it's similar to a sugar cone but it's not as sweet and it was the perfect balanced to the ice cream I did find that the ice cream melted quicker than usual and I'm wondering if that's because it's a custard

(The joint is now located inside Woody's Burgers.) After perusing their promising list of flavors, I decided to go with the Toasted Marshmallow option. I got a single scoop in a cup and took a seat on their inviting patio. I was immediately struck by how creamy the ice cream is. It's got this amazing texture that's enhanced by the strong, irresistible vanilla flavor. Honestly it's among the best vanilla I can remember eating. The problem is, however, that I didn't order vanilla, I ordered Toasted Marshmallow. As I kept eating, I did find sporadic pockets of marshmallow, and they were good, but I definitely wouldn't classify them as "toasted." Still, I'd return just based on the strength of that vanilla.

I ordered the Strawberry Rhubarb, and Earl Grey Honey ice cream sandwiches during my visit. The ice cream itself was delicious, and creamy. However, I wasn't a fan of the cookie part because it seemed like frozen raw cookie dough. The cookie also left lots of sugar bits on my fingers, was hard to bite into, and the sandwich itself was too thick.  This resulted the ice cream squeezing out when I bite into to. It's not great for someone with a small mouth on a hot summer day, as it can get quite messy. The service here was good. Seating is limited to 2 bar seats by the window, and a tiny bench outside.

The ice cream didn't taste like rhubarb. It was more like a strawberry shortcake flavour. The cookie is actually amazing. Like, chewy and delicious. Can I buy the frozen cookies by themselves? Because I would definately be there for that! If these were five bucks I'd think "yeah, that's alright. I'd try that again in a week." But, at this price point I'm priced out of the market (though I appreciate local bakeries are selling cookies for 5 bucks each, and that seems to be reasonable these days). So this is more of a me issue, than a them issue. I'm glad to have tried it, and in the future I'll make my way back. Limited flavours will draw me in. And that's fine. This isn't an every day treat. It's a celebratory reward. I wish them well. I'm excited to see what the future holds. Just be sure you know their hours. They are very limited. Don't disappoint yourself by showing up when they're not open!
