Terrible service! Wait in line forever just for the person to throw your melted ice out the window without napkins

It's not inexpensive but you can certainly taste the quality. I had a scoop of bourbon salted caramel ice cream and a scoop of butterfinger ice cream. They were fantastic! My wife had a scoop of the banana pudding ice cream and a scoop of the coffee crunch. She loved them both. It's a small establishment but for a dessert after a nearby meal, this is definitely worth the effort of driving to. People were friendly and the store was clean. We'll go back whenever we are in the area.

So it wasn't a total surprise to find that they have decided to move to suburban Augusta. The new shopping center they've chosen was otherwise still under construction when I stopped in, but several groups of people had found this place and were shopping for ice cream. I imagine on a nice summer day there will be a line when word gets out. Not a lot of really top end ice cream around here, but this place knows how to infuse flavor. A more caramel and cookie creation complemented my dark and bitter chocolate. The chocolate came with Andes mints inside, which sounded nice but honestly could hardly be tasted because the flavor of the ice cream itself was so strong. Premium local ice cream isn't cheap, but here I did get a heaping portion size as I watched more flavors being created in the back of the shop.

It was AT LEAST 90 degrees in the dining area - I cannot imagine the heat in the kitchen. They had a box fan going and the back door open so they could have any air flow. This was during the Sunday rush and they were the only two there - but they were getting everything done! The management / owner absolutely needs to fix the air conditioning for the sake of their employees and customers. We are in Georgia - it gets HOT. Having anyone work in these conditions is simply inhuman - but good on Terrence & his coworker for keeping a smile on their faces. I hope they get a raise and/or an air conditioner!!

It's Time for a Meeting -- And This Time It's Not With Your Pitifully Paid Hourly Staff…read more It's with me. And I'm just a customer. That's exactly why you should listen -- because when a customer takes the time to tell you how to save your store, you should pass that straight up the ladder. Here's my proposal: every single person in your company, top to bottom, including the top shareholders, works one position lower for 24 hours. During that time, you do all the things you've been telling the people below you to do. And your in-store staff: the cooks, the cashiers, the drive-thru crew they go home. Because without them, the store closes. And if you don't believe that, you should say it out loud and see how it sounds. Two Options: * Option A: Step into their shoes, feel their struggle, and learn your business from the inside out. * Option B: Send everybody home and you try to run the store with no actual training -- because those short corporate training videos aren't enough to prepare anyone for real conditions. Do this, and the first thing that will happen is simple: everyone becomes human again. They stop being statistics. They stop being pay grades. They stop being numbers on a spreadsheet. They become people. Here's how you make it right in that 24 hours: Store staff get to sit in the dining area. They get hazard pay for the day plus a guaranteed 40 hours on next month's schedule. And if you've got a large roster but are only giving some people a handful of hours each week, that's not "budgeting" that's wasting talent and hurting morale. If you can't give people the hours they need to survive, then don't waste their time with false promises and endless "team meetings" that are really just lectures. Now, here's the bigger picture: what if, instead of endlessly adding new menu items hoping something will be a hit, you went back to the basics? You are Krystal's. Just sell Krystals. Offer topping selections, maybe cheese. That's it. It sounds counterintuitive, but it would drive demand. People think they want lots of choices, but choices slow them down and frustrate them. Give them one thing done perfectly every time. Build from there. One last thing: If you're using oversized wall art of your combos on the outside of the building, be careful about what that communicates. If the photo doesn't match the actual product in size or presentation, it sets the wrong expectation before customers even park. The subconscious letdown is real and it happens before they've even walked inside. This isn't about being flashy. It's about fixing the basics, respecting your staff, and delivering something customers can count on every time.

The owner wrote back and ask if I had this flavor at The Armadillo in South Dakota. I had, but had never seen it anywhere else. I was so excited when I got a message saying they were churning Strawberry Butter today and asking me to come taste it and let them know if it they got it right. We stopped by this evening to try it and to my delight, they got it absolutely right! The sweet girls who waited on us said they had been waiting all day for me to come by and gave me the container to enjoy at home. My grandson ordered a Reeses sundae which he proclaimed "better than DQ". My friend Sally from Vermont who loves "a softee" got a vanilla cone and said it may be the best frozen custard she's ever had! The shop is bright and clean. They have walk up window and cute play ice cream parlor for the littles to practice becoming future ice cream makers. Please go by the Meadows and try their delicious frozen custards, gelatos, and Italian ices. They also have some cafe items and are adding nachos to the menu. I need everyone to support them so they can keep making Strawberry Butter!
