I looked at my tray and thought, I can't do this anymore. So I did what any slightly desperate person would do: I ordered from Red Cow. The heavens opened, and the skies were not cloudy all day! The shrimp tacos (shrimp, refried black beans, cabbage, avocado, salsa verde, cotija, crema, corn tortillas): Fresh and flavorful--concepts of which the hospital kitchen has never heard. The double cheeseburger: Juicy, beefy, and sloppy. This burger did more for my recovery than any of my morning meds. I'm 80% sure that's a medical endorsement. Delivery: My food arrived hot and intact, which is more than I can say for my hospital gown situation. Whichever nurse carried it to me through those long corridors is a hero...a Lewis and Clark of cheeseburgers and tacos. Were these the healthiest meals for someone in a hospital? Probably not.
