This place is great. We were looking for the famous pizza places there but on closed a couple years ago and the other burned down 20+ years ago. Guess I need to stay current on my border restaurants!
We stopped at this place but it sure didn't look inviting so we went in search of another place. As we were heading out of town we even drove past but something told me to give it a try.
We walked into this breeze way with a steel door and no windows. We opened the door not knowing what to expect but we were relieved to see a neat bar & grill. 2 locals at the bar and a witty waitress/bartender/cook ready to serve us. Drink order fast and we decided on a couple special appetizers on the board, spicy curds & ranch tots. She was off to the kitchen and served them shortly thereafter. Both very tasty and generous portions for the price.
We ordered the main course. I had not had a pork tenderloin in over 20+ so thought I would go for it and the locals at the bar said the beer batter fries are to "die for.". So I ordered them too. Others in our group ordered chicken sandwich and hamburger with crinkle cut fries.
Prep time was fast. Everything served hot and portions were huge. Everything was tasty!
Don't judge a book by its cover. This is a great place for a meal. I'll be back. read more
