Pleasantly surprised. Food is really good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Family friendly atmosphere. This place is family owned and it explains the high quality of the food. They seem to take pride in what they do. Will be coming back when I pass through Canton again. Just fix the WiFi and everything would be perfect. read more

Our stomachs were loudly protesting our decision to not eat before we got on the road! To say they were growling was a major understatement! So we pulled off the highway to grab a bite at a big national fast food chain. As we drove up to the chain location, the line was around the building! That was a bad idea! Then, I saw this place. It had a lot of cars around it, but the drive through line was short. The menu board was easy to read and we ordered a couple of items. Super friendly help while ordering and again at the window. The food was ready pretty quickly and it smelled wonderful! I ordered the breakfast sandwich and first bite was Heavenly! My grumbling tummy was SILENCED! My taste buds were giggling with delight! Seriously, really good flavors and the egg was the star! Price was very reasonable as were the portion sizes. EXCELLENT decision to come here! read more

dairy palace seriously has my little california heart! the food was delicious, ice cream amazing, but the service.. WOW the staff is so much fun, so kind, & so resentful! my whole family absolutely loved getting to stop by not once, but twice! praying i'll get to come back some day! cannot recommend this one of a kind place enough! inside was very clean & staff was constantly taking laps to clear up tables. perfect place to stop at! read more

One of my favorite places to stop when roadtripping in Texas, ever since I was a kid! This place is always busy, which is a good sign (because it's just so good). Although it's busy, the service is quick & efficient! The atmosphere is based on their 4-H involvement around the town & surrounding areas, along with military appreciation, definitely a southern feel, so it's inviting. The business is family owned & operated since the 80's & I love to see new updates each time I go. The food has always been great in my opinion. The burgers taste fresh every time... can't wait to go back next time I head that way! read more

After driving from Cali back to Texas, I found this place on my yep, Yelp search in the vicinity. You can't go wrong with a heavy burger to top off a long drive, knowing your going home to rest... umm Maybe... First off the parking lot was small so be ware. We walked in around lunch 1:15ish to a line full of folks ready to order a classic exotic burger, sandwich,, country breakfasts, menus for seniors and for kids too, and even Tex-Mex favorites. Oh and can't forget ice cream. World famous since 1984. I was really choosing, and opted for the Texas sunrise. It woke me up, and put me to sleep hours later. I can say, it was nice. Hubs said, the Bison burger was official This place is cool. I just can't have people walk n, standing in line watching me eat. The tables are literally surrounding where people wait to order the food. No big deal, during a less busy time. Trust, during my travels I'll be back for a lick of ice cream to complete my experience. read more

We have visited this dairy Palace for over 10 years and they continue to impress! Friendly employees, delicious food and prompt service... Available 24 hours a day! The best burger and onion rings ever. It's the perfect quick stop if you are traveling on I 20... Do not miss it! We love the vegetarian options, especially the veggie burger and vegan chicken strips! What a treat ! read more

The best burgers, hands down. Bison, hog, salmon, turkey, duck, chicken, and just plain beef burgers. And then there are the fries and the fried green beans! Oh my. And for dessert, Blue Bell ice cream!! read more

The burgers here use to be great, now just a former shadow of what they were. The beef patties are old and really not warm as if they had the cooked beef patty sitting out. I understand you need to serve people in a timely manner, but quality over quantity. Getting a hot, juicy, cooked-to-order burger use to be a big deal here. Now to get something fresh you have to order a type of burger, like an Impossible Burger, to be served hot. My partner and I even compared, again, the difference. It's sad. I wish they would bring back the elevator music. It was more endurable than the contemporary Christian music where they keep shouting "Amen" loudly as you attempt to eat a lukewarm burger. And some of the staff act like they have no marbles while others are extremely robotic. Just weird. The food use to be so much better, now it's just like any other fast food joint. At least the place is clean regardless of the tiny restrooms. You need bigger restrooms because some people are larger. I've watched 300 pound individuals struggle. And the ventilation in the restrooms could use some improvement. Come on, there are seats right outside that area and some of these people go back to take a #2 and blow-up the toilet. I wouldn't use religion to push a restaurant as Jesus would not be happy with this place. read more

I stopped in to get something for hungry diabetic. I ordered small hamburger... they fixed this burger correctly but my "beef" was the quality of the beef.... never again will I eat a burger there I am thinking .. .. it had either been cooked the night before and they had the nerve to serve it to me that way or they had some sort of cow that, probably couldn't even walk they were serving up!!! It tasted like saw dust or something REALLY NASTY.... SHAME ON YOU AS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE KNOWN FOR QUALITY BURGER!!! I HAD TO GET ON FREEWAY YO GO SOMEWHERE... I had to spit it out in my napkin BUT NEVER AGAIN!!! Mc Donald's mustery meat is better!!!! Never again!! Zero stars if I had the ability to do so!!!!! Grrrrrr! read more

I went in and placed our order on 3/16/2024 at 5:58pm At 6:38 I went to the counter and asked about my order. They said it's coming. All other customers that sat down behind us had received their order, ate and had left. The 2nd round of customers that came in had received their food and were eating when I asked for a refund after 1hour of waiting. New to the area and will never go into Dairy Palace again. I'm sorry, they have to do better. read more

Stopped through at the insistence of my friend on a recent trip to Canton. Why did I listen to her?!?! Everything was just alright. Nothing really stand-out although the burgers are fresh and they are open 24 hours. I think people have a nostalgic attachment to this place. I don't but if you do, have at it. I've stopped at Dairy Palace many many times over the years, my mouth watering for a great burger and onion rings. in fact, two days ago I suggested to someone who has never been there that we stop for lunch What a huge disappointmen! It's a great burger joint with exotic meats to try, such as bison, fish, etc. They also have ice cream too. It's a great place to stop by on your way. They also have a EV charger so you can charge your car while getting some burger or ice cream for a stop on your way. Note that I left my jacket here one time, called them later the same day, they said they found it in the employee back room. But I'm from out of town so when I came back a few days later to get it, they said no one even claimed that they had found it before. I think they have employees turnover, or that someone is not honest and took it from the locker room. read more

This is a great stop for a diner type meal made fresh to order. There are multiple meat burger selections like bison, duck, and venison, but I wasn't feeling so adventurous so I just got a burger. It had an egg, hash browns, and bacon and was delicious. The chicken fried steak and fries was decent but a little bland and the onion rings were over cooked to the point where they were inedible. I would definitely try this place again because of the service and the burger, but I'd steer away from non-burger items. read more

I used to live in this small town about 30 years ago. One of my FONDEST memories was when my parents would stop at Dairy Palace and get us kids a burger. 30 years later, a more refined palate, I was driving past this little town and had to stop in and see if it was as good as I remember. In a word, yes, yes it was still amazing. Fresh cooked in front of me. Toasted bun. Mayo. Mustard. Chopped onions. Pickle. Delicious. I was so happy. I was transported back to a time where we played Pac-Man on the arcade machines, you could still drink Coca-Cola without the nanny state having something to say about it, and riding in the back of the station wagon without a seat belt was the norm. If you even PASS BY Canton Texas, you would be remiss and doing yourself a MASSIVE disservice by not stopping in here, supporting a local business, grab a burger, and get to eating. Rock solid 4 stars. read more

Best burgers ever! Friendly staff! Quick service and great prices! Love the drive in vibe here! Will be back!

Wow so many choices in burgers. Beside your regular, they have exotic burgers like Bison, Elk, Duck, Turkey, Venison and Spam to name a few. Also serve breakfast burger called the Texas Sunrise and quesadilla burgers. If you want a burger any way, this place is the burger haven. Of course they have ice cream. Wouldn't be called the Dairy Palace for nothing. They even make their own fruit pies from peach, cherry to apricots. I had the peach pie and bison burger. Which was a hard decision given all the plethora of choices. Bison burger was just right. Didn't feel heavy but satisfied. Definitely a great place to stop. read more

So the wife and I stopped here on our way home she had a single I had a double bacon cheeseburger. Flavor throughout the burger it was very good and for my wife to say it that means a lot. Down side is they do not have combos so everything is separate, but everything is very good from the fries to the fried mushrooms, they also have a little Tex mex menu and serve ice cream as well. We were met with a smile, the service was nice at the counter. The place had a small town feel and they get packed. Nice little jewel of a place. Didn't get pics was too hungry, but delicious, couldn't finish the double and my side the burger was big. For you men out there that love game meats they also have elk venison hog etc burgers. read more

On our way to the fleamarket we wanted a good burger. Saw this place with decent reviews plus it said "World Famous". We ordered parked and waited. While other cats and truck came gotbfood and left, we waited and waited. I asked about our order and it was sitting on line. Another 5 or so minutes and finally it came out. Talk about let down. Onion rings good but the rest was average. My little girl said it was OK. Noitjing special. Dang it, I wanted a bomb burger but instead the ball was dropped. If your hungry go somewhere else. We had a bacon burger and a duck burger. The bacon burger was good and the duck burger was also good but less satisfying. I'd come here again if I'm the area, it's also near the canton market so it's a good place outside of the market to get food. They have a lot of options, vegetarian and vegan. Also ice cream and Tex mex food. A good variety and good quality. The dining area was clean and calm. The service was fine. read more

05/10/19 Friday 8:45pm. Friday night and this is the place to be. The McDonald's across the street was deserted. Go over there if you are in a big hurry. The menu is extensive with exotic meats on it. Pretty cool! We stopped in for ice cream. The choices are blue bell and homemade. We Opted for the homemade. Chocolate brownie was really good. The dark chocolate had a funky taste we both agreed so I swapped it out for chocolate brownie. We will be back to try food next time we are in the area. $2.59 per scoop a bit overpriced. Guess I am used to Braums. read more

Meal: chicken fried steak with gravy and eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits and an OJ The good: the eggs and the gravy were awesome! Ordered my eggs over easy and they were perfect. The gravy consistency was spot on. The bad: the OJ, of all things. Very watered down and not good at all. The hashbrowns were average and greasy. The CFS itself had a very weird batter on it (see photo) The ugly: a dated interior, but clean and functional. Reminded me of a Waffle House. Overall, I would not recommend this as a breakfast stop, even not knowing what else is in Canton. Friendly staff and a clean restaurant could not overcome mediocre food. read more

Met my wife here. Buffalo burger is awesome. All the burgers are amazing. Can't go wrong with anything. Ice cream is great, get a cone.

I was passing by on a recent fishing trip and decided to give this place a try, as I'm a sucker for a good local greasy spoon type place. This place has quite the following. I walking in on the weekend around noon and the line was already about 15 people deep! A few folks gave up and left the line, assumably to hit up Whataburger just down the street. They make all orders fresh, so don't expect this to be the same type of experience that you get at most burger places. After about 15 minutes I found myself at the front of the line where you are faced with the tough decision on what burger to get. Obviously they have your standard burgers, but they also have a pretty large offering of exotic proteins for your burger. I played it safe and went with a double cheeseburger and tots. One thing that surprised me was the cost. It's a pretty expensive place to eat, but that is because they source their beef from 44farms which is a higher end south Texas beef ranch. You aren't getting a hormone filled McDonald's beef patty here, so expect to pay for it. About 6-7 minutes after placing my order, it was delivered to me and just looking at it, I knew this was going to be a good meal. It was really good. Have I had better? Yes, but it's definitely better than Whataburger. Would I eat here again? Depends on what time I am passing by. I don't think I would go at noon again, but I definitely hope this won't be my last trip there. read more

We've seen the sign on I-20 for 4 years and always said "we should stop there sometime!" Yesterday was the day and now I wish we had made it a point to stop sooner. Delicious burgers, curly fries were excellent, although the regular fries were kind of a soggy bummer. Line was long to order, although moved fairly quickly. They have a drive thru, but with made-to-order food that is worth the wait, that might not be a quick in and out. Definitely be back soon! read more

This place can be a little challenging to get into because of its location and traffic but it's worth trying. All of there food looks really good and they have a good array of things to choose from. I got a cheeseburger and added jalapenos and grilled onions. Which has now become my favorite things to add to burgers now. The burger was pretty good. Not the best burger I have eaten but if I was in the area and craving a burger, I'd stop there for one. My sister got the steak fingers. Tried a bite and they were pretty good. We also ordered some fried pickles. They use corn meal for the batter. Bot my favorite type of pickles but my sister likes them. Got an order of there fries. They were thick cut but not as crunchy as we hoped they would be. If you like a crisp to your fries, ask for them to be crispy. I haven't been able to try other places in the area to compare them but so far, it's a good place to sit down and get a burger at. read more

My wife and I had lunch and spent $22 for a small burger, fries, milkshake and a hamburger steak plate. The food and ice cream are both good, not great. The ice cream (blue bell) and burger prices seem high. Service is slow. Pluses include real mashed potatoes, good biscuits and fries. And like I said, the burger was good as was the shake. The price for the hamburger steak plate was reasonable. On the negative side, I didn't specify how I wanted my hamburger steak cooked, and the default is burnt. The salad was mostly cheese and a little tasteless iceberg lettuce. Not my thing. Everything is cooked to order, so I wasn't expecting food in less than 5 minutes, but 23 minutes seemed slow. read more

This place always seems busy and our hotel clerk recommend it for breakfast so we stopped in the next day for some grub. You walk in and place your order at the counter and give your name and the food will be brought out to you. The food came out within a reasonable time and staff was friendly and attentive. Wife had a regular 2 egg breakfast with hash browns, bacon and side of gravy (gravy was excellent) I had the the omelet with sausage, ham, bell peppers and cheese with a side of hash browns as well. I didn't care to much for the omelet as it just the meats and peppers inside with sliced cheese on it which I didn't care for. Everything thing was good. read more

Easily my favorite restaurant in canton. It's convenient for people traveling through on the interstate, or those that are in town for First Monday, but it's still a staple for the locals. I've been eating here for 40 years, and it keeps getting better. which is hard to believe. Great ice cream selection from Blue Bell & Henry's Homemade Ice Cream. There is a flavor from everyone, including dairy-free. Speaking of Dairy-free, dairy palace has several vegan and vegetarian options. All of their beef is from 44 Farms, so you know it's quality, and you can taste it. They recently remodeled and took the tiffany lamps out of the dining room. which is a bummer, because the nostalgia was part of the charm. ;) It was so clean, that even the old decor seemed brand new. No worries, though... the new modern interior doesn't affect the great service or awesome taste. I usually cruise through for an Old Fashioned Breakfast sandwich and a coffee. THey also have several exotic meat sandwiches. The Elk Burger is awesome. it has this plum sauce that is killer on it. Joe Rogan would be proud. I highly recommend it. They kids meals are usually pretty great and have veggie tales toys sometimes. usually a hit with the little ones. hard not to say enough good things about this spot. It's a gem that I wrote off for many years, but came back to find was better than ever. read more

I haven't had an old fashioned cheeseburger this good since I was a kid. Trust me, I've tried a lot a lot of places with good burgers, but this it top notch. Everything was perfect, from the way the meat and cheese were on top and the lettuce etc on the bottom. It even had the "diaper" that almost all hamburgers had back in the day. The onion rings were perfect with just the right balance of batter and onion. Don't stop if you're in a big hurry this isn't fast food. It's good food and worth the wait.
