We stopped here at 5.30am on a Monday morning driving back home from Wyoming…read more While it took a minute to get the waitress' attention, everything else was great: we got a fresh pot of coffee, and our order was correct and didn't take terribly long to come out. My friend's hashbrowns were feasibly well browned, and while they don't have a Denver omelet she was able to do the BYO option though $16 seemed kind of pricey. My eggs Benedict were good too. The English muffin was well toasted, and the hollandaise wasn't overwhelming the dish. The side of fruit was mostly honeydew and pineapple with some strawberry and grapes, but thankfully not mostly pineapple. It was very quiet and felt cozy.

This is honestly one of the cleanest IHOPs I have ever been to. It's right before you enter I-70…read morefrom Oakley, so it's a great stop if you need to get gas and grab a bite before hitting the road again. Parking was easy since I went on Friday night, there were a few trucks and cars, but nothing too busy with plenty space. I stopped here before heading toward Salina, Kansas, and ended up eating dinner. As soon as I entered IHOP I saw that it was very clean and there were TVs playing sports and advertisements. They also had donation boxes at the entrance with kids stuff for Christmas. I felt the vibe was comfortable and pretty decent to have a quick dinner meal. My husband ordered the big steak omelette with pancakes, and I went with the chicken tenders and steamed green beans. The pancakes and the meat-filled omelette were actually really tasty, moist, flavorful, and they had a good amount of meat and cheese in them. But the tenders were a big letdown. For $14+ you get five tiny pieces, and they were tiny, very salty and definitely the frozen kind, not fresh at all (if IHOP says they're freshly made then they're fooling you). The portion size was disappointing, and when I mentioned it to the server, she brushed it off and said she couldn't do anything, which didn't help. I really thought as a part of customer service she might end up getting at least one bigger one so that I will have better experience with their food but she didn't care. Honestly, the frozen tenders you buy at the supermarket taste better and are way bigger than what they served. If I were you, I would stick to the omelettes next time. They have definitely reduced in size too, but for $16+ they still fill you up and satisfy your taste buds. I would stay away from the other fried dinner items like the fried fish or chicken fried steak. Service overall was okay not rude. I wish our server could have smiled a little more while taking our order or seating us but the food came out pretty fast. Overall, I'd give this place a 3/5 just because the omelette and pancakes met our expectation.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more This restaurant is downtown Colby and has street parking that is all free. Inside has very few tables. In the center they have a long table with iced tea, water, plates, silverware, and condiments. You kind of help and serve yourself. There is no wait staff. When you want to order you go to the bar to get your drinks and place your food order. The menu consists of Salad, a few appetizers and pizza and burgers. This place is quite busy for a Thursday night at 7 PM. I ordered boneless wings and cheese bread. My husband ordered a Hawaiian pizza. He had a Coke which comes with free refills and I ordered a dark Porter draft called Frankie. Very light in taste. Undertones of vanilla and sweetness. It was not very cold. So I had to add ice. I did try the pomegranate wheat beer and that was bitter cold. Just the way it should be. The food came quickly. I had eight large boneless chicken wings. I went with barbecue flavor and it was accompanied with large cup of blue cheese. The breading on the chicken was very good. The chicken, however, was extremely tough. Very hard to chew. The small pizza is extremely small. I've seen kids pizzas larger than this. My cheesy bread was not bread at all. It was a small cheese pizza with the sauce served in a cup in the middle of the pizza. The flavor was horrible. It was tough and chewy. The crust was so hard. It really was difficult to eat. There are two dogs, both are labradors. The yellow one is Barley and she is so extremely friendly. The black one is kind, but not ad outgoing. Her name is Maize. I was so excited about coming here. Such great reviews. I hate to be the sour one, but the food here that I tried was not good at all. The beer had good flavor and would have been perfect, if it had been served cold. My suggestion would be for staff to turn the water and tea station to the other side so that when the line at the bar gets long to order, you don't have to apologize for trying to get your drink. Such a simple fix would make a big difference. I also think if they put the T station and condiment station in a different location, they could probably get at least five more tables in the restaurant. As busy as it became, that might be beneficial. I give this three stars.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.
