Service was slow, the food was cold, the lady who took my order was rude. The lady who delivered the food was rude and disrespectful.

Great service! Shakes were delicious! I had a large strawberry. Hubby had the large chocolate.

My first time at Sonic. I liked the mozzarella sticks. The food was fresh and hot. It helped make my summer road trip great.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.

We had eaten here a few years ago when passing through Colby, KS. We travel between Columbus, OH…read moreand Denver, CO several times a year. We usually push a little further west than Colby when stopping for the night but occasionally stop in Colby Tonight, Colby was our destination and City Limits Bar and Grill was on the agenda for dinner. It was as good as I remembered from a few years ago. The menu listed a "chef's special" (ask your server for details). Imagine my delight when tonight's special was Shepherds Pie. I'm part Irish and can't pass up a good potato dish - especially Shepherd's Pie. The Shepherd's Pie at City Limits was OUTSTANDING and exceeded my expectations. My wife opted for the Short rib sandwich that came with fries. She said her sandwich was excellent and I can attest that the fries were also excellent as she shared her fries. It reminded me of a little restaurant in Dublin, Ireland where I ordered Shepherd;s Pie and the waitress asked me if I wanted fries or mashed potatoes. I said I thought Shepherd's Pie was always made with mashed potatoes and she replied "I meant for your side dish". I guess we Irishmen really like our potatoes. Service was excellent. Good food, good service, good value.

Waiter was nice but when we told him the food was bad he just said sorry. Didn't offer to get something else.... a free dessert would have gone a long way. I know it wasn't his fault, and told him that but then he never returned to the table. Inside the restaurant is confusing. Are you a "Bar and Grill" or a fine dining restaurant? I'm not sure what you're going for.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more This restaurant is downtown Colby and has street parking that is all free. Inside has very few tables. In the center they have a long table with iced tea, water, plates, silverware, and condiments. You kind of help and serve yourself. There is no wait staff. When you want to order you go to the bar to get your drinks and place your food order. The menu consists of Salad, a few appetizers and pizza and burgers. This place is quite busy for a Thursday night at 7 PM. I ordered boneless wings and cheese bread. My husband ordered a Hawaiian pizza. He had a Coke which comes with free refills and I ordered a dark Porter draft called Frankie. Very light in taste. Undertones of vanilla and sweetness. It was not very cold. So I had to add ice. I did try the pomegranate wheat beer and that was bitter cold. Just the way it should be. The food came quickly. I had eight large boneless chicken wings. I went with barbecue flavor and it was accompanied with large cup of blue cheese. The breading on the chicken was very good. The chicken, however, was extremely tough. Very hard to chew. The small pizza is extremely small. I've seen kids pizzas larger than this. My cheesy bread was not bread at all. It was a small cheese pizza with the sauce served in a cup in the middle of the pizza. The flavor was horrible. It was tough and chewy. The crust was so hard. It really was difficult to eat. There are two dogs, both are labradors. The yellow one is Barley and she is so extremely friendly. The black one is kind, but not ad outgoing. Her name is Maize. I was so excited about coming here. Such great reviews. I hate to be the sour one, but the food here that I tried was not good at all. The beer had good flavor and would have been perfect, if it had been served cold. My suggestion would be for staff to turn the water and tea station to the other side so that when the line at the bar gets long to order, you don't have to apologize for trying to get your drink. Such a simple fix would make a big difference. I also think if they put the T station and condiment station in a different location, they could probably get at least five more tables in the restaurant. As busy as it became, that might be beneficial. I give this three stars.
