I love that they are open late night. It is a good spot to go to after a late night event when you don't want to settle for breakfast at Denny's or waffle house. Food is made to order. So, prepare yourself for a little wait time. The good thing is everything came out hot. Catfish nuggets are overpriced for such a small portion, but it was seasoned well. Mac and Cheese was good and reasonably priced. A few items were made wrong, but they don't accept returned food. So, you keep the food or toss it and they remake what you want. Service was okay. Before ordering, we were told by the bartender that they were "really good", seasoned well blah blah blah. The potatoes came out cold, and tasted like absolute nothingggg. When with some friends on a Sunday and was able to get a table right away. There was only one server, and she was working hard, so it took a while before she could come wait on us. The music was good and they had Martin playing on the tv, so we were entertained while we waited. The menu prices were pretty average for a brunch spot but the food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits which left me wanting more. We also ordered a bottle of champagne for mimosas and a hookah after we ate which was reasonably priced. I love this place!! I always go for the vibes. If you're looking for a laid back spot that plays great music, and has good food & drinks, this is it! I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive options available for vegans/vegetarians. I have tried every plant based option on the menu from the vegan burger, plant based brunch wrap, beyond meat tacos, mushroom tacos, and my ultimate favorite, the fried oyster mushroom "chicken" sandwich. That alone is worth a visit. Seriously, it gets a 10/10! I am honestly blown away by the lack of reviews here. The Daily Menu offers a fun atmosphere and incredible menu. Visiting a friend, he had been itching to try this spot. It was well worth it. I ordered the salmon and spinach grilled cheese. I truly believe this was the best sandwich I've ever had. The bread was buttery and grilled to perfection. The salmon and spinach inside was nothing but gooey goodness. It was comfort food to the max and I loved every bite of it. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as part of the happy hour deal. It was also delicious and the chips as pita crisps were a nice touch. For drinks, we also ordered from the happy hour menu. The Daily Paradise was the perfect blend of sweetness and rum/vodka. I would get it again. Such a lovely, low-key local restaurant. Came here today (April 17th) for Saturday brunch. Super casual, southern-welcome vibe. Although the restaurant is small, they do have two sides. They do not take reservations, so what we called ahead of time to check the wait time. Arriving around 12:30, they were not busy at all. We were seated right away for brunch. (There is a 90 min dining time I guess for when they are busy) I am not in Richmond often so I do not know what a typical brunch is like, but I will say my group of 5 ladies were satisfied. Live DJ and buffet. It looks small from the outside but has two sides with bars on each and a outside patio if you prefer to dine in fresh air. Visited this place on a Wednesday night. It was pretty quiet and not busy. We ordered our food and a couple drinks from the happy hour menu. The drinks were really good. Not strong but good. Pro-tip try pineapple mule with mango (AMAZING). The food came out fairly quickly. The chips for the spinach dip was very crisp and so so good. I almost wanted to just order the chips. The entrees came out not too far after. I ordered the honey hot wings. They were fried hard and not too spicy. The sauce was perfect. The fries were good as well. My friends ordered the chicken sandwiches and shared good feedback. My only complaint was my drink took a bit longer to come out because they didn't have the normal bartender on staff. The food is okay and some of the prices are out there but as a neighbor this place can be annoying. I appreciate the water bowls they leave outside for dogs but they need to be changed OFTEN. I don't let my dogs drink the water because it sits there for a long time and given the crazies we have down here I don't want to chance them getting sick because someone poured their drink or worse in them. Secondly they are always blasting music outside even when no one is seated outside. People live here and having the neighborhood turn into a rave at 3pm on a Thursday is not the vibe. I would like to start by saying that I have only ordered from this place once before this experience. The first time was wonderful. The food was delicious and even though it was to go, the server was wonderful. This is the reason why I had hyped them up to my coworkers. So, my lunch is very early in the day and this location stated that they opened at 11 am. So it was perfect for what I needed and wanted for lunch. It started off a little off because I ordered directly from the link on their website and it said that I would get $5 off for my birthday this month, however, it didn't. I didn't make a big deal of it because I felt as though this was an easy fix. Little did I know that this was going to be the least of my problems. So, I placed an order Friday morning, via their website, and it gave me the option for it to be picked up at 11:00 am. I thought this was great, I figured they must be in their early getting everything ready so that when they open they could hit the ground running. I had paid over $51 and I left my job to pick up what I thought was going to be my coworker and my lunch. Before arriving, I tried to call them, but no answer. I did this a couple of times before getting there. Much to my surprise when I arrived the doors were locked and not a soul was in the building. I called them at least 9 times after that, left two messages, and emailed them and heard nothing. Then a little before 12:35 pm finally got someone on the phone. He stated that my food had "been there waiting for me to pick it up". I informed him that I got a text at 12:06 saying that my order was almost ready, which was an hour after it was due. I asked him if he was a manager and he said no and that no one was there yet in management. He stated that he was going to try to contact the manager. However, instead of a manager, I was met by a young woman who was rude and called herself trying to help me out despite their business not operating properly. She said that the cooks came in at 11:15 am, claimed that I couldn't have placed my order through their website, and told me that I was being unreasonable for asking for my money in cash despite their business fact that this situation happened because of them, not me. This was absolutely horrible!!! If I could give a negative number for this review I would. This interaction had not one ounce of positive customer service experience to be found. She told me that the manager would give me a call but didn't. Typical! Then the reply from the owner came. (I've posted it below along with my reply.) OWNER (copied straight from Google) Thanks for the review and your time you placed a order at 9am we opened at 11am and you wanted your food ready at 11am I'm sorry we got there 10 min late do to a situation but you been here 5 times and and now write this (typical) 1 star review baffles me and you demanded a refund in cash and wanted it brought to your job. Like we offered you your food for free you was smart then we gave you a refund after your email I understand we are not perfect but all this for a order you placed for turkey wings collards mac n cheese fish rice and whatever else for breakfast is not called for but we will do better you got your refund and we thankyou for being a loyal customer. REPLY: First of all I haven't been there 5 times this was my second visit. Second, if you had people who had any decent type of customer service experience or even if you would have emailed me or called me back, because I did leave my phone number, I wouldn't have put you on blast. I understand mistakes happen, but what baffles me is that you are making it seem as though it is my fault. WOW! Yes, I did ask for my money back in cash, because it was taken out immediately so I wanted back in immediately. However, this was way after your staff member was completely rude to me and accusing me of lying about when the order was placed. At the end of the day, this situation was handled horribly and has continued to be handled horribly. Your ordering system should be updated so that no one can place an order that early if it can't be ready at that time. Unfortunately, you have lost what could have been a "loyal" customer because I love to see people succeed and do great and the first and only time I have been there was a great experience. Came here for brunch with some of my girls and really enjoyed the food. It is definitely small and intimate inside but the food is very good! The breakfast croissant and chicken wings were very tasty. We decided to do the Build Your Own Mimosa and that was enough for our table (party of 5). The hostess and our waitress were super hospitable and accommodating. We also had the hookah which was nice and smooth. They also offer a variety of flavors! I recommend Berry and mint mixed. Saturday visit- Nice little 2 sided spot (smoking side with DJ & and non smoking side) which is where the bar and cook is. Security was outside to check ids and purses. Inside was pretty laid back and the bartender lady was very nice and interacted with us. It was so laid back if we wasn't sitting right in the front they would have forgotten about us. Came here for brunch with friends and while the food was great (I had the catfish, shrimp, and grits), the service was severely lacking. Our waitperson was inattentive and slightly rude the whole time we were there. Everyone has bad days right? It happens! We were ready to chock it up to a bad day until we saw them interacting with a friend at the bar. Suddenly they had all the energy in the world for the friend, but none for our table of 6+? It was so so weird and after a while not only did we feel uncomfortable, but we all were ready to leave. This my first time being "out" since covid and this is my new Friday night spot. I would suggest getting there a little early for dining without a wait. Their happy hour lasts until 8 pm which is great and includes food as well as drinks. The jerk chicken egg roll was to die for! I also had nachos chicken fajita nachos that were too. Security is terrible and very threatening and aggressive. I tried to go there for food and drinks but The bouncer gave my friend a very difficult time for no reason. The owner let my friend in after the bouncer denied him multiple times. Once inside the bouncer threatened my friend and then proceeded to push him out of the club. When my friend was outside of the club he was assaulted by the bouncer for supposedly filming on his iPhone inside of the business. However, they have a smoke lounge & the door to the lounge was constantly left open after we repeatedly asked them to close it. Definitely get the BYOM (build your own mimosas) comes with a bottle of champagne, 2 shot of Grand Marnier and 2 shots of your liquor of choice, paired with juices and purees! The food is phenomenal. This review has everything to do with the terrible treatment I received from a half-ass 20 something amateur bouncer at the entrance of this place. I arrived to pick up an order placed by a relative whom I was visiting. This person immediately begin to question my effort to pay for my order and pick it up. I was asked to produce an ID. I'd never been harassed trying to patronize an establishment. Businesses are usually courteous when being paid for their services/goods. This was completely absent from this restaurant. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt here but the interaction was so poor I cannot imagine I'm the only person that has had this experience.
