I still wanted to browse and find something to take home, I'm not sure if I missed the memo for sizing on tops but it was hard to know which section I should be looking in. There were some great finds in there, but also pretty expensive. Previous reviews mentioning prices seem to be several years old so keep in mind that you'll be spending a lot depending on what you're looking for. I will say- if vintage is your style and you're open to what you wear this would be a good stop. If you're a little more picky and looking to save some money this may not be the best option.

We saw this place all the time and finally went in: turns out, it's majority high-end vintage/hype clothing, purses, etc.! I am more of a thrifter and less of a hypewear person, so I went in expecting thrift store prices. This is not that :) However, if you're looking for resale LV bags, Supreme shirts secondhand, etc. this is a great spot to check out! I liked how they had things organized - they even had a full rack of Carhartt pants. WHY ARE THEY $100 EACH?! That I don't know. But they have them. When we were about to dip out because nothing was quite in the price range we were looking for, we poked around the back corner and saw 6 racks of $20 sweatshirts! Much more up our alley. We ended up both finding one we liked. And that weekend happened to be BOGO, so we got them for $10 each! Great spot to check out if you're looking for specific vintage MN sports pieces, used hypewear for less, secondhand designer purses, and unique cool vintage stuff.

They were playing upbeat rap music when we came in, and in addition to clothing, they also had a selection of belts, wallets and handbags. This got 4 stars just because there wasn't anything I was interested in, but it was clean and well stocked. This location just opened a week ago, and it is just a few blocks from many other vintage stores in NE, so go check it out!

Truly, on this one I'll let the photos do the talking. There's so much to uncover here, many of which are a bit too spooky for my home decor but a blast to walk through! I didn't get anything, but my favorite items were the butterfly displays and the bug displays that had them in little mini vignettes like reading a book, smoking a cigarette, etc. hahah they were so darling and clever. Prices are steep but probably reasonable considering the uniqueness of everything here. If you're looking for a holiday gift for that quirky pal, come here! I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. Sometimes when I go to curated vintage stores they're a little out of my budget, but The Mustache Cat really had something for everyone and all price ranges. For example, there was a really sweet almost neon orange retro mushroom lamp for about $130, and across the room there was a cozy vintage ceramic soup bowl for $12. I loved Rebecca's curated selections, and she was kind, inviting, and helpful. Worth noting is that it can be easy in the space to accidentally bump into things. A couple items took a little tumble while I was there (gasp!!!! Always a scary moment) and it was met with the kind assurance, "we are not a museum, it's ok!" So nice! One of the unique things about The Mustache Cat is that the inventory is either thrifted and curated by Rebecca or is created by women makers. He then proceeded to grab my hand, and grab my hand again, this time holding it tightly. And before you say it, Yes. I know the difference between friendly, and not. As I'm inside, I share a similar experience to what I've read from other people -- these overly nice owners were trying to sell someone some 300 dollar Tibetan bowl. But the worst part. As I was checking out, the male owner came in. He walked up to me and put his hand on my lower back, & then proceeded to move it down, grazing my butt. As he did it, his wife stands there across the counter bombarding me with questions. I was shocked, and mortified, and got so anxious so quickly, that the female store owner even recognized it and said, "We're making her nervous with all of our compliments!" Yes. You were making me nervous. Your overcharge, combined with the fact that your husband just touched my ass. Literally --just sexually grazed me. A teenage girl. In front of you. I will never be back again. So wrong. Inappropriate. Fake. Overpriced. Claiming to be buddhists, and yet. This happened. Seriously, a horrible experience.

They have a very carefully curated selection of clothing and home good items. I'd say currently the theme is a casual southwest feel. I found everything adorable and decently priced though it was a smaller selection than I would have liked. Even with that in mind I still wanted everything in the store. They have frames, plants, chairs, tables, shoes, scarves, jewelry, etc. I wanted a scarf and bracelet but wisely left with the perfect gold floor lamp for $30. I chatted with the owner, Jamie, and she said they are constantly adding new items to the floor so I'll definitely be back soon. Worth the trip to the east side of Nakomis!
