Came in to buy a self-inflating backpacking mattress, a very basic staple for anyone familiar with…read morebackpacking or back-country camping. I was looking for something along the lines of a Thermarest, a very high-quality, reliable product. The shopkeeper showed me the mattress. I asked she had one the was self-inflating, she said yes but it was in the back and she would have to go get it. The ones on display looked very cheaply made compared to the Thermarest and were not self-inflating. I figured the store seemed like a nice place, so I took her word for and paid almost $144.95 for the one she went in back and got, the "self-inflating" one. After climbing a steep mountain and completely winded, I took out the mattress. There was nothing self-inflating about it. Nowhere on the box did it say self-inflating. There was absolutely nothing to make them think that it was self-inflating. It was the same cheaply made blow up cushion that they had on display. I can't say how disappointed I am. Clearly they thought I was some dumb tourist they could take advantage of and never see again. I am utterly disgusted, I can't believe they thought it would be okay to take advantage of a customer like that, especially after being willing to pay their self-inflated prices, basically just to be nice. I trusted them to be knowledgeable, given that they run a mountain equipment store. There is nothing worse than greed and incompetence, especially when they are together. Reputable outdoor stores like REI and Hudson Trail Outfitters would never sell these products and only carry reliable brands like Thermarest and other comparable products. The products Woodlands Edge sells useless are entirely useless and basically amount to little more than a waste of plastic.

Yes, I followed all procedures as stated in the manual. Went back to the store, and all they initially would say is "sorry, nothing we can do except process a warranty claim," which doesn't help for ice storm purposes. Later, a nice friendly assistant manager did agree to take it back and refund my purchase price in full, with no restocking fee, which I appreciate. So, I assume the blame should lie with Harbor Freight, and not the individual store.

Cole Haan is one of my favorite brands, for its timeless and classy style. Even when I was in my…read moreearly 20s, while most of my peers went crazy for Coach, I always would get the beautifully crafted, understated handbags from Cole Haan. Later as Michael Kors picked up steam, I refused to give in (because sometimes I just purposefully avoid super popular things) and stuck by my lovely Cole Haan bags. My tastes have evolved slightly and when I come to North Georgia Premium Outlets, I now also stop at Kate Spade. But there is something about the leather of Cole Haan products. It is buttery and again, timeless. While saffiano leather has become really trendy, I will fall for buttery leather over and over again. My purses from Cole Haan have survived regular use and at times, abuse. They just stand up to anything and the leather stays soft. I do care for my leather products by applying leather lotion and treating them for rain and whatnot, but I imagine that Cole Haan products could probably go for a couple years without any over-the-top coddling.
