Dad's Stuffing is a great place to get delicious food to take home for dinner. We ordered some of the stuffed meatloaf (the chicken with red peppers and provolone was great, but I also enjoyed the spinach and provolone) and yummy breaded cutlets. The soups were my favorite - the pasta fagioli and wedding soup were both incredible and I wish I would have bought more to freeze for later. This place is a local gem. We picked up chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana and rice pudding. Wow. Everything was great and tasty. The eggplant parm was amazing. Customer service was great. Dad's is truly a hidden gem. I usually visit Dad's on Sunday afternoons. I will pick up EVERYTHING needed for a fabulous dinner (fresh pastas, homemade gravy (please don't say sauce) meats, cheeses, soups, containers of prepared vegetables, salads and bread) Why do I visit on Sundays you ask? I love love love seeing and talking to their 82 year old mother and 90 year old father. I LOVE hearing their family stories (her husband worked at Dad's for 70 years and was an employee of her father, he wooed her (her words not mine) It makes my heart happy to see the family dynamic in action, especially seeing the sons (and grandsons) express their love for their mom (grandmom) but the boys know .... you better not deviate from her chicken salad recipe (she samples it every week) or it's going to be a problem . I have never had anything from Dad's I didn't love (I dream about the chicken cutlets and I've been known to sit in my car and eat one (please don't judge me) before I go home . My son will risk a parking ticket for the fried chicken meatballs, the lasagna and the chicken Parmesan. The roasted Brussels sprouts are so good I'll eat them cold. The mash potatoes are perfection , no additional seasonings are needed. The strings beans , the chicken salad, the shrimp salad when they have ... it is heavenly but the piece de resistance is ..... the whole stuffed boneless chicken cooked in butter and wine (you have to order it 24 hours in advance ) but I PROMISE YOU IT'S WORTH THE WAIT. That's a little gross. Prepared foods that I'd go for: chicken with a balsamic glaze, meat loaf (unless you're on a diet), baked crab cakes - no filler, and of course their baked chicken meatballs. A family friend had got us some long hots, mozarella cheese and stromboli from this place and I thought they were all very good. I immediately checked out the reviews here and came here last week. I wanted to get a chicken meatball sandwich. I did not realize that they just sold meatballs individually. However, the gentleman at the counter called someone inside and he agreed to make a chicken meatball sandwich with their homemade gravy. When the sandwich came out, I immediately realized that this was going to be my lunch and dinner. The first bite and I could tell this was the best meatball sandich I had eaten in my life. The chicken meatballs were morsels from above.The regular meatballs were good too.The salads were ok however the rice pudding was pasty and very dissapointing. Apart from the BAD rice pudding, my only negative of the place is that the pricing isn`t clearly marked,so its a guessing game.(they do have a catering flyer up front with per lb prcing on the salads it turns out but nothing is clearly marked on the products and that is a negative for me).I would & did travel here from the shore.
