Their office staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and their technicians are prompt, courteous and competent. I've purchased their service contract for many consecutive years, having recently upgraded to the "platinum " contract now that my heating system is getting older. I recently had an oil delivery at a price higher than I expected. Patty (sales/office representative) explained the pricing procedure and suggested it would be beneficial to me to have a "ceiling protection" plan. The cost of heating oil every year is pretty much a guessing game since almost no one can predict the direction heating oil costs will move. My opinion is it's always better to be with a company who will "work with you" when necessary. Carole C. Yardley

Unfortunately, I began noticing a decline in service quality back in 2022 with some technicians and raised concerns with Meenan that only seem to get addressed when you post it online. This issue was corrected when they sent a different technicians out to complete the tune up. Most recently, a technician came to replace an expansion tank and, while he was there, completed the annual tune-up that had been scheduled for August 31st. The entire tune-up took a very short time a job that historically took about an hour and a half. Previous technicians removed the top of the boiler and cleaned the heat exchanger -- arguably the most important part of the boiler to maintain for efficiency and longevity. During this visit, the top of the boiler was never removed and the heat exchanger was never cleaned. What has been even more disappointing than the service itself has been the lack of communication afterward. I called three times and was told each time that the Service Manager would return my call within 24 hours. After waiting five days without hearing from anyone, I called would call again on June 29 I talked to Amy who looked over the notes and was promised a callback. As of today, I still have not heard from the Service Manager. After more than a decade as a loyal customer, I expected better workmanship, better communication, and greater respect for the customers who have supported the company for years.

Before I start, please know it's rare for me to write a review for a company, but every once in a great while, I come across a company who truly deserves a positive review. Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company is one of those rare companies that truly deserves a great review. On May 1, 2024, I had a company (not Jonathan's, as I hadn't heard of them yet), install a brand new HVAC unit in my home. In mid-June of this year, 2025, my just over 1 year old HVAC unit was only putting out "fan air", not "air conditioned" air. (Of course, the warranty expired exactly 1 year after installation). I put in a claim with my home warranty company. After several days of them not being able to find a company to come to my home to repair the unit, they finally gave me the option to find my own licensed technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I called the original installer, figuring he could easily diagnose and repair the problem, but he said he was booked out for the next 5 weeks!! So, I called many large and small companies that advertised that they can install and/or repair HVAC units. The earliest any of them could come out was about 10 days. Not only that, but most of them said they would not help me answer the questions required by the home warranty company about the HVAC unit's issues, so that I could (hopefully) be approved for the repairs & get reimbursed later. After many, many calls, I came across Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company. Not only were they the least expensive price I was quoted by any of the other companies I called, to come out & diagnose the problem, but they were willing to help me submit the needed answers to the questions required by my home warranty company, so we could proceed with the repairs once the problem was identified. When I spoke with Alix, in the office, she heard the desperation in my voice. She said they would send out one of their techs the very same day!! Their tech, Joe, did indeed come to my home that same day as promised. He diagnosed the problem. He took pictures and a video & he sat with me while I answered all of the home warranty company's questions and submitted the pictures, (they do not accept videos), on their portal. The home warranty company called Joe, while he was still at my house & said they wanted more pictures. Joe took more pictures and I submitted them. His patience level was nothing short of exceptional while we waited for the warranty company's decision. They did not make a decision that day. In fact, the home warranty company took days to make a decision. Alix, in the office, was kind and compassionate. She knew my cat & I were suffering on the 100 degree days we were having in NJ. Joe, their technician, was just as kind and compassionate as Alix. During the waiting period (because of the home warranty company's delay in reaching a decision), Alix and Joe continued to have good communication with me to see if there was anything else needed by the warranty company. On two occasions, I spoke to the owner, Jonathan. He explained in more detail, but in layman's terms that I could understand, exactly what the problem was for my own knowledge and in case the warranty company asked me any additional questions. The whole experience with Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning was exceptional. The pricing, the quality of workmanship, the communication, the willingness to answer questions I had & the willingness to help me answer the home warranty's questions, etc., by far exceeded my expectations. I would, without reservation, recommend them to my family and friends (and anyone else reading this review), should any of you have any HVAC issues.
