This company (I worked with the owner, Art) was recommended to me by a friend who had a good experience so I decided to use them. The brand new furnace broke down in less than 24 hours!! The thermostat shut off completely and there was a leak in the newly installed pipes. They came out the next day to "fix" the problem. A little over 24 hours later, it stops working again!! I called as soon as I realized what was going on at 2 am but heard nothing. I then proceeded to call all 3 numbers listed for the company and sent text messages throughout the day without a single response until 7:30 pm! By this time the temperature had dropped to 58 degrees inside my house and I left a message informing Art of this but that was not enough to get me a call back let along a service call. I had to call another company to do an emergency call and pay $120 to get some heat, which ended up cutting off again in the middle of the night. The next morning Art sent me a text (he did not even have the decency or respect to call me) stating he would be coming over later that day, when I pressed him and asked when exactly, he told me he would come sometime after lunch when the snow stopped (did I mention that it was snowing and was below freezing at times and he saw no problem with delaying the service call until it was convenient for him, despite me reminding him that I have an infant in the house). When he finally came he offered no explanation or apology for failing respond to an urgent situation since the day before. When I pressed the matter he just said nonchalantly that his phone wasn't working the day before. Art is very responsive when he wants to get the job and to get your money but fails to follow through once he has your money, and he shows no remorse. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

And happily they weren't. Throughout the whole process, from quote to installation, Bill was informative, friendly, neat, and professional. He took pride in his work and genuinely appreciated being able to be of service. He even went above and beyond and replaced a busted vent he noticed on our clothes dryer. The pilot light wouldn't stay lit. He worked his way from all the obvious and inexpensive fixes and only got to the more more expensive ones when the simple fixes didn't work. He communicates very well -- he told me what he tried and what was next as he went. I ended up needing a new gas valve and pilot assembly. In my 20 years here, I have never seen my pilot so strong. I'm very pleased with his work. He also helped get my potbelly stove with a gas assembly working again and had some helpful thoughts for how to make it retain more heat.

He even made the suggestion that my contractor made upon his initial inspection of the building about 5 months ago. That suggestion was to install a heater that allowed me to upgrade to central air whenever I am ready to install the new condenser. Due to the fact that I was replacing the system during one of the coldest winters in the last several years, estimates were insane! He also made suggestions about the basement moisture levels and concrete that will help to preserve the life of the heater. Leopoli's did not conduct business that way. During that time he or an employee have been to the house three times. Each time, between the time I called and when they showed up, things would start working properly again. So they would try to diagnose the issue based on my description and do what seemed to be appropriate, and things would be fine for a while but eventually the problem would recur. So yesterday he showed up with an expensive piece of equipment to properly diagnose the issue, and having done so, brought in another expensive piece of equipment to fix the problem. He was there for over two hours, and along the way, he mentioned what he normally charges for use of that equipment because of what it cost him. I was OK with it; I was just happy to have the problem finally fixed. But when he was done, he said that he wasn't happy about the past "misdiagnoses" and I shouldn't have to pay for them, and he ended up charging me about a third of what I was expecting. When I offered to meet him halfway, he said, "Sorry, I've already entered it into the system, nothing I can do." I can't promise that you'll get price breaks like I got on this occasion, but I can promise that you won't get ripped off, and that you'll get excellent service.
