The process was pretty simple. They measured, asked about options and we signed the paperwork and the order was placed. The windows arrived when they said they would and the crew was there on the morning of install as they promised. Seem like they sent more guys then they needed but that was their business (our price was already set). They worked most of the day and took about 30 mins to cleanup and showed us how everything worked. After they left we double-checked their caulking (inside and out) and everything look really good. Not that we were surprised but you never know. The windows have been in for several weeks now and the owner called to check in last week (nice touch!). We are happy with the results and they will be our first call when we do the rear windows next year.

Very unhappy with the situation. He could of at least called us instead of blowing us off through our realtor. Mind you, we were looking to finish a 1200 sq ft basement and build a retaining wall, fill and re-sod our yard. I guess 120k was worth spending an hour or two on a quote. 10 month later, I get an 3 emails in 3 weeks asking for a review so here it is.

However, the rate that i was charged at $180/hr for each person to put together 3 beds was ridiculous. This was not transparent in their quote. I was under the impression that would be $180 for both ($90/hr) which is still expensive but doable. $180/hr per person is more than a Union Contractor makes in NYC. The Handymen were just there to build 3 beds! The price was insane and i will NEVER use them again. If you wish to use them, please make sure they provide you with a detailed breakdown of the costs (not just a per hour quote) so you are not surprised like i was.

August marks a year now and still no pool and no word from John since beginning of July. We had to…read morepay to get all the trash & debris cleaned up, pay to get the stone work finished (even though we had already paid John for that phase of the contract but he didn't pay his subs!!!). No end in sight for this disaster! Horrible contractor! Promised project done in 16 weeks and it has been a year of failed commitments. He front loaded his contract for payments and then walked away leaving us with an unfinished project and significant expense. This is NOT an "unprecedented times" labor or material issue, this is an issue with an incompetent contractor who continues to lie, delay and fail to show up or respond. He has also destroyed our backyard in the process.
