I'm not gonna post any ugly photos and I'm also not gonna dog this business out because I get it,…read more"Times are tough!" So here's what I'll do, I'll make this both a post and a personal message to the owner... Dear Sir/Madame Business owners, CFO, CEO, Treasure/Acct., Associates... I remember almost four years ago when my wife and I stepped foot into your shop. It wasn't MUCH different than it is now. The young woman behind the hot bar greeted us, made us feel welcome, and I almost feel like she gave us the story of how they started the restaurant. It was a great experience and for us it was endearing as we had just lost my wife's father. We were new in town and wanted to find places that made us feel like home. Like her father made us feel, welcomed and comfortable. We travel a lot so we aren't avid patrons but when we wanted some Mo Better we went. It seemed that as these four years have rolled by, the story has dwindled into local banter with the regulars and basic hungry guests. I remember the cake box was full of desserts every flavor in stock. The plain pound cake was a heavy reminder for my wife and I of grand parents who baked similar goods. The hot bar was fully stocked, and the standard was clean and efficient. The health department gave you an 81...An "81"! The atmosphere seemed tired and clearly there was a shortage of help. I make up that by the condition of a 65% empty cake box, and the lack of enthusiasm of the ONE guy who was )ringing up orders, touching food, boxes, bags, reciepts, tongs, the drive through window, the lever on the drink machine, I could go on) that the pay isn't attractive and quite possibly there's not even a health plan due to this administration putting the bite on business owners. Attracting talented workers who are dedicated and committed is probably just as difficult because there's nothing attractive about working at Mo Better. Aside from all that Plus the two sides of missing potato salads in two different orders (one was from my order today) I hope, and it is my deepest wish that you take a step back, reevaluate, look at what's not working and get rid of it. Then think of what you can add to bring your business back up to a level where, maybe the business has increased and you have a rating above 90. There are possibilities available if you want to thrive, because at this rate, it doesn't even feel like really care. About my order...Here's the feedback: *The cabbage was mega salty. *The chicken was over fried or it was fried from frozen. Chicken shouldn't shred and become stringy and chewy when you bite it, that's a result of cheap cuts and or poor quality. *The potato salad (missing) *The cornbread was wet and crumbly I watched as the cashier/server/orderpacker, busily moved to get drinks for others. But I had to ask for mine. He took my to go order at 6:07, I left at 6:23. I clocked a recent visit to Piccadilly's yesterday around the same time. Nobody in front of me at Mo better 16 minutes. Six people in front of me at Piccadilly, 8 minutes. Distance wise It makes better sense. Wait time wise and accuracy of order even BETTER. I could write more but my point is. We don't have much left here in Stonecrest, I would hate to see this spot have to pack it up. Get together and come up with a new plan, flip the menu, add something that's exclusive to MO BETTER, something you can only get there. Change the operating hours, get involved in the community and connect to the people...Better days are coming, and sometimes a shift can set everything right and get you back into motion..."Good Luck!"

Great customer service, well seasoned and crisp fried chicken, reminded me of my mama's. Sodium…read moreminded? This might not be for you. Sides - greens and Mac were decent. I look forward to visiting again!

First time I went - lady was RUDE asl but the food was GRRRRREEEAT and fresh so I came back! This…read moretime the lady was nice but food, while tastes good, pales in comparison to my first visit - as do the portions of the side items. This time it's a bit salty - but a swig or 2 of water balanced it out. I'm cool w/ day old food - even the big boys do it - so while u can taste it in the pork chops - they are still good (red sauce is my own Franks Xtra Hot) and tender enough to cut with a plastic knife w/ ease! Rice and greens cooked perfect. Now that mac and cheese!! Baby!!!!!!! If you can - zoom in -I can't even describe how great it is! It reminded me of my granny's w/ the different cheeses & other secret goodies! I hope my next visit is Chef's Kiss - I know they are capable b/c that's what got me to come again! Oh and I had carrot cake- it's HUGE!! Worth every penny! The icing on the carrot cake tastes home made as well. Well done! See ya next time!

Today was my first time ordering from Soul Food Cafe. I had a craving for soul food and decided to…read moretry somewhere different since I usually order from Busy B's in Atlanta. Unfortunately, I should have stuck with Busy B's. This was my first order from Soul Food Cafe, and it will definitely be my last. I ordered the smothered pork chops with broccoli cheese casserole and macaroni and cheese. I also tried the cube steak, cornbread dressing, and fried chicken. Honestly, the entire meal was a huge disappointment. The rice that came with the pork chops was undercooked, which was surprising because no restaurant should be serving rice that isn't fully cooked. The cube steak and cornbread dressing were not enjoyable at all, and the fried chicken was bland and lacked flavor. I'm genuinely confused by all of the great reviews because my experience was the complete opposite. Based on the meal I received, I can't recommend this restaurant. Busy B's may be more expensive, but in my opinion, they're worth every penny because the quality and flavor are consistently there. Unfortunately, Soul Food Cafe was a complete miss for me. Based on my experience, I would give it 0 stars.
