The food at this spot was pretty mid. When you walk in, you are greeted with a dark, almost gothic style atmosphere, which was actually pretty cool. The wait staff was okay, not the friendliest, but there was nothing particularly wrong with the service either. They have a huge selection of wing flavors, so I tried quite a few of them, but unfortunately none really stood out to me. The flavor just was not there, especially considering the price. Paying nearly $19 for 12 wings feels pretty ridiculous for what you are getting. One thing I did like was the soda machine, which had some local Minnesota soda brands available. I thought that was a nice touch and something a little different. Between the high prices and the wings just not tasting that great to me, I would give this place two stars.

We were in the neighborhood for our son's basketball tournament, and a friend recommended D-spot for lunch. Holy cow! Blown away by the options, the flavors of the food, and the friendly service. We showed up right when they opened in a Saturday, and had a group of 7, and there were a lot of good options for seating. We got the Chupacabra wings, the Billy the Kid wings, and a wing special (I forget the name) that had pulled pork and coleslaw. We also got a kids burger, an Original burger with bacon, the Fuh Burger, and a double D-Mac (which ended up having FOUR PATTIES!!!). So much food at such great prices. I wish we lived closer, because we would go back all the time! I highly recommend it here.

D-Spot has amazing food and Rock Star vibes. Tons of wing flavors to choose from and great craft beer on tap. If you have the opportunity to order the Chef special, do it! I don't know what this was but it was so flavorful my friends who ordered wings were in awe.

We went here on a Sunday for lunch. You find a table with a number and then order at the counter and give them your table number. It wasn't terribly busy when we got there but got super busy as we were there. They have a kids menu and my kids enjoyed the food. I don't like bone in wings so I didn't have any wings but the other adults I was with had a ton of flavors and said they were all super good! I got the chicken tenders and they were very good. The fries have a seasoning on them that is good but a bit spicy for kids. I also got the teriyaki sauce to dip my wings in and it wasn't my favorite. Their soda machine is all craft soda which was cool and the soda was really good! We will definitely be back to try more!

The wings here are solid, a great spot t check out if you want to try some unique wings and flavors. The servers here at extremely friendly, and all have their own favorites on the menu to recommend. It's cool atmosphere, plays into your classic dive bar vibe.

I have to drop it to 4 stars. The wait times are just getting silly. We took a break from coming for a year. Tonight there are about 5 tables waiting for food. We have been waiting well over 20 minutes. Beer is done and no food. You guys really need to fix this. 20 min is the the max. It is not full right now not even close. Still good wings and vibes but don't let it slip!

If you have young kids that scare easy don't go to the back seating area or the bathroom. The front might be more suitable. It's a self serve spot where you place your order in the front and get your beverages too. After you order they bring you the food. We got the black widow, magic dragon and the tarantula wings. The wings are fried to perfection. The sauce on each were great. The solidity on the magic dragon was different but good. It helped mellow out the heat. The tarantula was my favorite, sticky spicy and sweet. Will be going back to try there other flavors.

If you like chicken wings you have to check out Dspot! So many in house sauce flavor combinations to choose from! They are meaty and saucy and soooo good! Chef D is a mastermind in the kitchen. Plenty of parking in the lot, lots of tables and chairs for indoor seating along with some pretty awesome decor. They also have a small patio for outdoor dining. They have daily specials if you check their socials and are even offering up brunch now on the weekends. Go with a group so you can try a few different flavors! Also get the seasoned fries and sauce!

D-spot is a consistent go to for us. We've done pick up and dined in. Just be sure to check the hours, sometimes they close early, etc. My go tos (as a spice baby) are the Alfredo and the Honey bbq (I know I know, boring but delicious). Husband's go-to is the goat's blood, but he alwayand we always get the seasoned fries with extra Harissa Aioli - trust me. But truly, there's not much that can beat a quality chicken wing and beer!

Every imaginable flavor of wings! Fantastic. Easy parking. Worth a visit - recommend.

Came here around six on a Wednesday, waited about 20 minutes for our meal, everything came out super good and as ordered... Four stars soley for the environment, it's a bit loud and chaotic inside. Definitely interesting inside, I'd say it's more of an adult atmosphere! Overall pretty good! We usually get take out from here and love it!

(Last visited August 1st, 2024). This Yelp review has been long overdue... but it's time to finally write it and give D-Spot the recognition that they deserve. Here is why D-Spot is my favorite place to get wings... in the entire world... Atmosphere/Appearance: Set off the beaten path in a small city east of St. Paul called Oakdale, MN is this incredible establishment. It's in a strip mall connected to Cub Foods and several other smaller businesses with a pretty prominent standalone Taco Bell in the parking lot, but no matter. Owner/Chef Darin loves Halloween, scary movies and the like... So inside reflects that. Lol. Off to your left is the most, detailed display of skeletons and the like. The rest of the restaurant is pretty simple. There are 2 rooms, one of them bigger than the other, but the overflow room is often closed if it isn't that busy (rare). The tiled are a cream color and there's one long booth seat that runs along the right wall with adequate tables. In the extra room is a very cool logo and a live moss "painting". Energetic music comes thumping from the kitchen throughout the day. Service: There isn't much service, which makes this whole process much quicker and less involved. Once inside you'll see someone taking orders off to the left and then the wrap-around bar. Grab a menu that'll be laying on the counter, pick out your flavors and then place your food and drink order at the kiosk then go have a seat with the number that was given to you. The longest I've seen food take here for 45 minutes and even then, totally worth it, but it usually doesn't take that long. The staff are friendly and Darin, as well as his wife are both so sweet. They're kind and don't mind having a conversation with you. Just be aware that they close between 8:00pm and 9:00pm each day so that their staff can actually have lives. Food: So there are technically 6 categories of wings here. Yes, they sell other food as well, but one whole side of the menu is dedicated to these wings. Lol. So, there's the "Green Flame" which are the sauces/rubs that don't have heat at all. Next up is the "Yellow Flame" category. These will have a light kick of spice involved in the flavors. Above that is the "Orange Flame". These will have a moderate spice level. "Red Flame" is the category I enjoy most and where my favorite wing flavor of all time resides. These have a heavy spicy flavor as a part of the sauce/rub but isn't unbearable. Now it gets crazy... "Blue Flame" is where the spice can become intolerable to even some true heat seekers like myself. I've had 4 different flavors from this category and only 1 of them didn't make me cry/sweat. The category that isn't even on the menu is "White Flame". These are only available online and have to be pre-ordered because some of these flavors take up to 48 hours to make. Yes, I'm so serious. I have no plans on venturing to this category, but be my guest. There are also 3 secret menus in which special code words (which can be found hidden around the restaurant) must be uttered in order to access them. Darin, the chef must also be in the building to prepare them. I'll only discuss my favorite flavor sauce because I've been to D-Spot over 10 times and I live thousands of miles away from this place and have tried over 40 flavors here. Volcano... from the red flame category is the perfect blend of curry flavors, Buffalo and heat. That's all I'm going to say. Plus, if you get access to the secret menus, the wings become more than just sauces and seasonings... they become entrees and events... Value: The wings here are pricy, but it is what it is. Depending on the category they can range from $10.50 for 6 to $18.00+ for 4 (Blue Flame). The spicier they are, the rarer the pepper so yeah, you gotta pay to play, but it's so worth it to have such incredible creations. In conclusion, D-Spot will forever be my favorite wing spot in the entire world. I have yet to see someone dethrone them, but some have come close. However, whenever I'm in the Minneapolis area, I will absolutely stop in because... well.. I have to! I hope you do as well.

Order of Muay Thai wings

This place is interesting. They have a metal vibe with a backroom seemingly out of a haunted house. Ordering is counter service. Their fountain soda is a local soda company + diet coke. The portions were small, 6 wings for $10.99 with no accompanying ranch or blue cheese. We ordered the jerkalo and asked to have the sauce on the side, and were charged $6 for a side of sauce. The flavors were delicious, but the price and vibe were not for me.

The exposed stone walls and that huge wall of whiskey bottles behind the bar give the place a cozy, speakeasy kind of feel. I had to try their take on an Old Fashioned, and it did not disappoint. It came loaded with a giant orange peel and topped with a couple thick strips of crispy bacon and a piece of what I'm pretty sure was a bacon-waffle garnish - such a fun, over-the-top touch that actually worked with the drink instead of feeling gimmicky. The bourbon itself was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, and the smoky bacon on top added a savory contrast that made it way more interesting than your typical Old Fashioned. The bartender clearly knew the menu well and was happy to chat through the whiskey selection, which made the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed. Great spot if you're looking for a laid-back bar with a serious cocktail program and a little bit of playful flair. Already looking forward to going back and working through the rest of their drink menu.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. We will absolutely be back--and when we do, we'll be asking for a table in David's section. (He works Tuesday through Friday.)

I started with the tequila and mezcal Old Fashioned, and it was fantastic. It was well-balanced, beautifully presented, and garnished perfectly. The food was equally impressive. The wings were delicious--crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My only small note would be that the celery was a little limp. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

We chose to sit at the bar, but it took nearly 10 minutes before the bartender acknowledged us or brought us water. Because the bar appeared moderately busy and only one bartender seemed to be making drinks, we went ahead and ordered dessert. We also asked about the brandy and cognac selection. Unfortunately, the bartender seemed unfamiliar with what was available. When we asked to see the only cognac she mentioned, she presented the bottle with what appeared to be obvious annoyance. Since it was the only cognac available, we ordered it, but only after another lengthy wait. A few minutes later, we asked whether our dessert order had been entered. The bartender told us it had been, but we then watched her walk to the POS system and enter the order immediately afterward. That was very disappointing and made us feel as though we had been misled. During this time, four additional guests sat at the bar, yet no one came over to assist or help expedite drink service. Our dessert arrived about 10 minutes later. Throughout our entire visit, the bartender never smiled, engaged with us, or made any effort to create a welcoming experience. My date did not care for the cognac and asked to see the brandy selection. When the bartender retrieved a step stool to reach the bottle, she set both the stool and the bottle down roughly. The interaction again felt irritated and unprofessional. More broadly, it seemed as though the bar was overwhelmed, and no one was stepping in to help. One server stood nearby rolling silverware while guests waited for service. I understand that staffing challenges have affected the hospitality industry since COVID, but given the prices charged at this establishment, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism. I was also surprised to see a server dressed in faded jeans and a crop top that exposed a navel piercing, which did not align with the upscale atmosphere I anticipated. I had always heard wonderful things about this restaurant and was genuinely excited to visit. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the reputation I had heard so much about. If this level of service is typical, I do not see myself returning. The dessert was excellent, but the service left a lasting negative impression. An inexperienced bartender, a lack of hospitality, and being given inaccurate information made what should have been an enjoyable visit disappointing.
