We were dispatched through Geico roadside assistance on a Thursday night in the Chicago suburbs. It was raining, but not storming. The tow took 3 hours to arrive, and the updates we got were unreliable: 30 minutes, then an hour and a half, then 45 minutes, and an hour, then 15 minutes, and finally a call saying he'd be there in 10 minutes. It was a full three hours of being told the wrong thing. I completely understand that wait times are NOT the drivers fault. That is dispatch, time, who is available and when. 3 hours was not the towers fault at all plus traffic is always a factor! When the driver finally showed up, my husband handed over the keys so the car could be put in neutral. I didn't know that the keys were passed over for contex. As he started chaining the car, it looked rough and jerky, so I rolled down my window and politely asked, "Would you like us to put it in neutral for you?" He cut me off mid-sentence and snapped, "Ma'am, I've been doing this for 10 years," and said something about being "snappy" and doing his job. His hands were up in the air and his body language read as very frustrated and pissed off. After waiting three hours in the rain, being talked down to for offering help was insulting. He then pulled out the keys I didn't know he had and put the car in neutral himself, which made the whole exchange feel even more pointless and left me feeling terrible. In the end, the car got towed to where we requested. Long wait, no reliable communication, and an unprofessional attitude when we tried to be helpful. This left our night feeling off and hard to shake. Go with another service. 1 star 0 if possible
