Popped in D'Nisi yesterday for a bit of lunch after a recommendation from the lovely Fiona! We were incredibly lucky to get a table when we went in, as it was absolutely mobbed with grannies and their grandchildren! Unfortunately the only table we could get was right next to the door, meaning we got a horrible draft every time someone came in or went out, brrr.
The menu in there is a bit limited, as it is just a cafe, but they do have a licence, so beers, wines and ales are all available too. Colin and I ordered the Parma ham bruschetta sharing platter to start, then I had the chicken and bacon club panini and Colin had a chicken and chorizo stew.
The food came very fast, which was great, and was lovely! I wasn't a big fan of the bruschetta, it was awfully dry as no olive oil was used, and it wasn't seasoned either, so it was a bit bland. The panini was lovely, and I had a wee bit of Colin's stew which was glorious! We ordered a couple of their berry frappes which came in huge American diner-style milkshake glasses and were delicious!
I think I would rather go here on a slightly quieter afternoon so I could sit up next to the huge fireplace, but I did enjoy it and will be popping in from time to time! read more
