While right away they did speak to her over the phone they left her under the impression that service could be right away and at the local facility which my mother called. When we arrived to speak to a consultant she said my stepfather was at one of their other facilities and there's no way they could move him, she also said that they cannot hold his service until the following week - more than a week after he died. The consultant did try to move some things around to move up the very simple service requested. My stepfather a simple man with no religious beliefs requested a very simple burial, the consultant my mother spoke with said the funeral director would say some words at the burial site, however when we arrived he simply offered some "time". I felt the entire thing was very impersonal and cold. This is why I personally am highly against chain funeral homes. A family owned place would have been far more accommodating & sincere.
