currently waiting for my appointment that was supposed to start at 10. they called me back did the initial tests,which took all of two minutes. it is now 10:40. and i've been waiting since 10:02 to finish my appointment. very upset. never had a problem before my appointments are usually in and out. this is not cool. read more

Fast and friendly service and they handle all your needs, and i've been happy with the service thus far!

My 94 year old mother took a little tumble. She was unhurt, but the line that holds her lens in place broke. She only has one pair of glasses, so I didn't want her to be without them. I called Fitzgerald and found out that not only were they open till 8 (it was almost 5 when I called), they had a drive-thru service, as well. It couldn't have been simpler, or more professionally done. Not only were they repaired in about 10 minutes, they also installed new nose pads and bow covers. After all that, they wouldn't take any fee for the service - believe me, I was persistent, and tried to pay them, but they said it was "on the house". After my last experience at Pearl Vision, I swore I would never go back there (I waited forever and ever to see the eye doctor and then got charged out the whazoo for a two pairs of glasses which were supposed to be a buy one get one free deal; and a year later much of the coating on the lenses has scratched off leaving me with blotchy lenses...) I was a patient of Dr. Fitzgerald's when she used to be at Pearl Vision in Westdale Mall. She has struck out on her own and her practice has been growing by leaps and bounds. My visit was very professionally conducted. Lot's of care and attention from the various staff members there. The service was a little slow for my liking (which is the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5), but even so, I felt well cared for. All the equipment is top of the line and computerized which is a bonus. With my vision discount through my health insurance I got a great new pair of glasses and my eye exam for only $240! The woman who helped me select my frames was very courteous and helpful. One of the reasons I went back to Dr. Fitzgerald's office is because I am aware of all the great things she has been doing in the community and around the world. She has been part of sponsoring an eye care clinic in Cedar Rapids that serves the underprivileged. She has also built an eye care clinic in Kenya. If you need an eye doctor you really should see Dr. Fitzgerald!! read more

After seeing three different eye doctors and being diagnosed with three different eye conditions I finally visited Dr. Fitzgerald. While other doctors were making me wash my eye lids with baby shampoo, she was the the only one who correctly diagnosed me with Thygeson's SPK. The other doctors told me not to wear soft contacts, Dr. Fitzgerald told me soft contacts work as a band-aid and reduce inflammation. I've been seeing Dr. Fitzgerald for over 5 years now and my Thygeson's has diminished greatly, almost to the point where is has completely disappeared. I've recommended Dr. Fitzgerald to my friends and family and they've all had positive experiences. I cannot recommend her enough. read more

I can't say enough good about dr. Fitzgerald she is extremely caring Dr. She has been watching my husband for early signs of glaucoma. She actually ran a few tests and did not charge us for them. In fact our last recheck she said no charge. She truly cares about more than your eyes read more

My son lives in Cedar Rapids, but I do not live in Iowa. On New Year's Eve afternoon he called me with an alarming eye problem: extreme and worsening blurry vision along with excruciating pain if he opened his eyes at all. He had no eye doctor, and he could not visually function to find one. I searched on line and called your office based on your good reviews. Julie told me that the office would close within the hour due to the holiday, which I completely understood -- but then she asked if I could hold. While I was holding, my son called back to say his wife had gotten back to him and was able to get him in to be seen. I had accidentally dropped the call with Julie, but she called me back to say that a doctor had agreed to stay late to see my son. I cannot find words to express how much it meant to me how kind and compassionate the people in your office were to a total stranger on a holiday. I chose this place based on reviews and later found out a few friends are lifelong customers. I haven't been to an eye doc in 10 years, I have never had luck with vision correction due to being pushed to try different things from tiny pupil sized contacts to glasses that made me dizzy and nauseas. I called one day a couple weeks ago to see if she was accepting new patients and Dr. F had a cancellation for a few days later. The new technology homes in on what my prob is and her tenure in the field resulted in her not recommending a bunch of things, but simply a start with small steps to vision correction. I'm starting with glasses for computer use (six monitors plus others). They quoted about 2 weeks for glasses, it was a little over a week. So far so good. So glad I finally found an eye doc that "gets it". read more

I have been going to Fitzgerald & Associates for 5 years. They have always been extremely helpful in every way- from the eye exam to choosing my glasses. The quality of my glasses have always been top notch. They have also happily repaired and reshaped my glasses for free! I would never dream of going anywhere else! read more

I was very dissatisfied with the agressive sales push I received while at this offfice. Several times I felt pushed and pressured to spend more. Overall the price was twice as high as some local competion. The staff was short and didnt want to be bothered with my questions. I learned my lesson. Go elsewhere! read more

Not pleased at all. Glasses remade once, six months later I have to see a different doctor to get it right. 2nd visit nothing covered by insurance. Not recommended. Not a good experience at all! read more
