I have never had a salon more welcoming and professional and it's such a relaxing environment . They are all about customer service. The shampoos and head massages are to die for! Since starting there, my hair has never looked better. I've always had fine, thin and lifeless hair. Now, my hair is not only thicker, but actually has body and bounce. This took better quality hair care products with routine trims and excellently placed highlights. I always feel so pretty when I leave here. Did I mention the scalp massages during shampoo??? Ahhh! It is more expensive than a lot of salons, but you get what you pay for.

Ardent Salon is one of the few places that carries Euphora color in the Memphis area…read more Euphora color is extraordinary for shades of chestnuts, blondes, and browns - Euphora is probably the best on the market for those colors. My experience with the Aveda salon color system for those shades resulted in mostly colorless shades of bleached bone or platinum, while Euphora provides rich natural honeyed tones. Euphora toner manages to adhere color to my hair (which is very fine and very straight). My experience at Gould's Salon was the color did not adhere to my hair but washed out with the first rinse at the salon. If you've had similar experiences at other salons, try Ardent - you will get vastly superior results. Ardent's staff is friendly. The interior decoration is peaceful and provides privacy while the service is going on.

After some texts and pictures were exchanged as a consultation, I was set up for an appointment the very next day. My stylist, Taylor, was extremely friendly and made the 2.5 hours fly by. The salon was very clean and a relaxing atmosphere. The olaplex worked wonders to stop further damage on my already damaged hair and I am loving the voluminous result. I am happy to recommend this salon to anyone who may need a beauty service!

She had no idea what she was doing. Rather than asking me to explain the cut further to ensure I…read moregot what I wanted... she proceeded to chop inches off my hair (after telling me she'd take off no more than half an inch.) I specifically asked for as little length taken off as possible, yet I now have at the very least 3-4 *noticeable* inches off my hair. She rushed, although there were no other customers, and to make things better she couldn't even style it properly with a picture- I asked for waves and got full on curls instead. Nice people, but wouldn't trust them with my hair ever again. I would place bets on me knowing more about styling than she knew which should never be the case in a hair salon. Also, in response to what her reply is 1. You don't have to be a mind reader to copy a picture and 2. I talked to cosmetologists at two separate places who agreed the cut was not done properly nor was it anything like what I asked for- had to pay for extensions. Still would never go again. Leaving review because it's an accurate representation of my experience.

I've been holding off on writing this review because I feel awful giving a mediocre rating when the…read moreperson providing the services was a true sweetheart. Very talkative, nice, personable. For THAT I would have returned. However...many things about my experience were just unprofessional and I don't have time to mess around with it every time I want my hair done, so unfortunately, I won't ever return. I had a Groupon. While waiting for my stylist, another stylist told me the groupon was created because my stylist needed to practice doing women's hair again since she had worked at a barber shop for years. Even if this is the reason, I don't like knowing that I'm "practice". My highlights were shocking and took me some time to get used to. I did have to have a friend cut stray hairs because the cut wasn't even...but that's minor. All in all, my hair turned out lovely and as time went on, I began to really love it. What really upset me? It's not good when the stylist says "oops I may have gotten some on your clothes". At the time I brushed it off and hoped she hadn't. Two of my favorite shirts that I wore that day (cami and cardigan) have bleach spots on them. One of the shirts can be dyed but the other can not. :( There were other things about the experience that were unprofessional but I was OK with them at the time. Kind of unforeseen events and, as I said, the stylist was so sweet. Maybe I just had a weird experience. The salon itself was adorable and all the stylists are independent and rent their booths.

I come to Fringe for hair color/highlights and hair cuts. Soon after coming, my husband started coming here too: and FINALLY he has an amazing haircut! Gretchen is my hairdresser, and she is just great! She's a terrific listener, but at the same time will walk me through things and give me feedback so that way I leave with something that I both like and looks great. There are several women that will wash you hair and put in toning treatments and they are all so sweet and just really take care of you! Pricewise, I think that this salon is at a great price point considering the high quality of services they give. Their prices are at the mid to higher range, however I have had my hair done at salons that will give you the same results and completely gouge your wallet. I also love how Gretchen will work with me to figure out what I should get done based off of what my budget is going in, I find that super helpful!
