The bright colors and paint all over the building spoke to me. Inside, it is pretty similar to other gift shops int he area. My hotel was on the same street as this gift shop. There are a total of 4 gifts shops (to my knowledge) in the same area. I hit all 4 just to check them out and compare. Also, I needed umbrellas, socks, and other miscellaneous things during my trip. I came in here looking for an umbrella and ended up looking at other random things. Yes, the pens I saw at the Publix were a dollar cheaper here, so if you want to get a few points of memorabilia from the trip, this isn't a bad place to do it. Toys, luggage, shot glasses and more... not all of it Disney or Universal related, there was a fair amount of just random Florida and Orlando merchandise, too. They didn't have the bead/charm items we were looking for, so we moved on, but others may find interest here (and cheaper than some of the parks though not necessarily any indication of quality or style).

I wanted a sweatshirt or hoodie and had high hopes for this store. Especially since they are marketing to celebrate an anniversary for Disney World. The designs were eye catching, but not at all what I was looking for. I had to distract myself from buying anymore t-shirts, as I had already purchased at least three in the past two days. This is one of the largest shops inside Disney's Hollywood Studios. The outside décor of the shop is pretty unique. It looks like you're entering a cinema or movie theater to go see a movie! Inside the store, you'll see lots of Disney-themed apparel, headwear (like Mickey Ears), and even Jewelry! Typical hours for this store are 9:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M daily, however, you'll want to take a look at Disney World's Mobile application. Sometimes the start times do change for Hollywood Studios. If you're staying on property at Disney World, there is a 30 minute extra time you'll have, with the theme park opening at 8:30 if you have early access. Annual Passholder discounts and Disney Visa Cardmember Perks are accepted at this store! We had a great time shopping at this store when we visited Hollywood Studios. Since we ended up going down Sunset Boulevard later in the evening, this store was relatively busy, but overall it was a lot of fun!

Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I find the whole experience much more exhausting than I remember. It's incredibly hot, and it feels like everything has been engineered around getting you to spend money. Want to sit down somewhere? It seems like you need to be eating, drinking, shopping, or otherwise spending money to have access to a comfortable place to sit. Sometimes I just want to sit for a few minutes, enjoy the scenery, people-watch, and take a break without having to buy something. I don't care what age you are. Sometimes you just need somewhere to sit. The food was decent, but honestly, I can find good food in plenty of other places without having to navigate the whole parking situation, walk through security, and then spend money every time I turn around. The constant retail focus and pressure to spend money just doesn't create a particularly relaxed environment for me anymore. What's funny is that I remember coming here when I was 27 and being completely blown away by it. Back then, I thought Downtown Disney was incredible. I even spent a few nights going to the clubs, and those nights were absolutely epic and fun. I have some great memories from that time. But today, the experience feels different to me. Everything seems so carefully designed to extract another dollar from you that it starts to feel almost mercenary. There's nothing wrong with a business wanting to make money, but when the commercial aspect becomes so noticeable that it affects your ability to simply relax and enjoy being there, it changes the experience. I think I've reached a point where I'd rather spend my time somewhere with a lower-stress atmosphere. I want to go somewhere, walk around, enjoy the scenery, sit down when I feel like it, and have a good time without constantly feeling like every basic comfort comes with a price tag. Maybe it's me getting older. Maybe it's Disney Springs changing. Maybe it's both. But these days, I'd rather spend my money somewhere that makes me feel like a guest instead of a walking wallet.

The tunes were going, and the overall layout and flow of the space were definitely inviting and nostalgic at the same time. All the photos with notable celebrities and other individuals of stature were a treat to walk around the store and see. It was like visiting a museum of cool pop culture - so, that was super dope. Service was impeccable. It was not super busy either. We chatted it up with one of the owners and vowed our return.
