My wife and I purchased 2 steak and cheese subs on May 21, 2023, and paid approximately $28.00. Drove away and pulled over to eat the subs. They tasted funny and we couldn't eat them. Tossed them away. The next day, my wife was very ill with a severe headache and upset stomach. She threw up several times. FOOD POISONING!!! DON'T go to this place! An iconic choice has simply not kept up. Yes the food is good, reasonably priced and convenient, but these guys simply can't get an order right, ever, no matter how many times it's repeated. Stop the old policy of no order slips and please write the order down! Rest assured, I'm not a one time order person who want to complain because of something small that happened once. Because I like them, I gave them 5 chances over the last few weeks and all five times my order was wrong- sometimes just the wrong toppings (lettuce, cheese, etc) and other times the entire sandwich is wrong. All that said, who can't handle a few bad sandwich orders, right? What I can't accept is when I called to share my experience some fresh mouthed kid tried to pass himself off as the manager, gave attitude and told me "if I felt like coming back they could really try and get it right for me this time". I was SO EXCITED to see the new revitalized D'Angelo menu and online awesomeness. First visit was great. The food is always ready and the staff are nice. BUT my last three take out orders were so awful: freezer burnt, rubber, tasteless chicken in a bland peppercorn dressing (threw it away); and the last two orders included steak and cheese subs that were vomit inducing because the grill grease was packed into the food on the sub which made the bread pre-digested, the flavor acidic and grilly and the entire sub was falling apart because of the grease saturation. Two in a row, the same grease content. HERE's my issue: all three times, management contacted me via text to see how my food was and I dutifully reported. The answer all three times? I WAS MISTAKEN. How could I be mistaken about inedible food? Staff were conferred with and they all disagreed with my estimation of their terrible subs and subpar chicken meat. NO MEASURES TAKEN to please a disappointed customer. MAN! I love the website, the ordering, the timeliness...but I have lost faith in the PRODUCT. Try the John Fitch location in Fitchburg? I was in Leominster and needed to grab something to eat, so I opted to stop at my old fave, D'angelos near Searstown Mall and grab one of their killer BLT's. (That's right, you heard me son, Searstown Mall, not The Mall at Whitney Field, old school) I hadn't been to D-ang-alos in a while and I walk in and the menu was condensed and completely different. To my horror the BLT sandwich was no where to be found on this new menu. I asked the girl working if they still had BLT's and she had to ask the young man who appeared to be the manager and he replied yes they did, and so I ordered a small BLT with cheese. No BLT on your menu D'angelo? One of your signature offerings and your gonna take it off the menu? Circular bacon? Off the menu? Bad move. The BLT is a classic and one of your signature sandwiches. There's only one place you can get your circular crispy bacon on, and it's D'Angelo. The wait was reasonable, but that is when it became apparent that even with 4-5 young people behind the counter, they could barely manage to get a single customer rung up. They took it upon themselves to assume I was eating in, I was handed my sandwich on a tray and I was never asked. It looked good other than the fact that there was mayo on the outside of the sub roll, which sorry if it makes me picky, or OCD, but I don't like receiving my sandwiches and having condiments on the out side of my bread/bun/sub roll. Then I had to stand at the the counter for almost 5 minutes with my BLT getting cold, waiting for the the new kid who messed up on register to get his scat together and finish his epic fail of a transaction so he can ring me up. Finally I get to the register. I decided to make it a combo. F it, right? I needed some crunch in my life, and it was 95 degrees out according to Dangelo's super accurate electronic billboard thermometer, so I needed a ice cold soda to wash that BLT down Pulp Fiction style. That small BLT went from $5 and some change to $8 dollar territory quick with the upgrade to the combo. I hit the soda fountain and then grabbed a seat and dove right in. Other than the mayo on the outside of the bun, this BLT was seriously on point. The lettuce and tomato were as fresh as they'll ever be at Dangelo's and the circular bacon was cooked to perfection. Round, crispy, plentiful, but not over cooked bacon, and just the right amount of mayo. Overall a mediocre dinning experience. The foods pricey for what it is, and the service is the typical nightmare of teenagers that have no concept of customer service, but if you need to get your circular bacon on. this is the place to go. read more

Food is ok - dangelos is one of my favorite sandwich shops... but this one seems like it's completely run by teenagers. Walked in the door, waited at the counter for a good 4 min while at least 7 employees bustled around without even acknowledging our existence. Customer service is non existent. Not even a smile. Maybe some adults on staff will help? If you want a partially good sandwich with little to no customer service this is definitely your place. read more

I ordered a veggie pocket from this location on Friday night. About three hours later, I had the worst case of food poisoning of my life. I don't know if the grill wasn't clean or the hands of the workers weren't, but either way, I will never eat at this location or any other D'angelo again in my life. There was no question it was food poisoning and that it was from this location. Thanks for the 12 hours of ab workout I got. Three days later and I'm still recovering from the extreme dehydration. read more

After 49 minutes.Mind you 14 cusomers ordered and left before we received my order. My issue wasnt the newby but the arrogance of the crew of 6 that couldnt be bothered to help him. Great subs, never an issue. Very busy location. You can tell ingredients are fresh. Love the classic veggy pocket!!!! I have it all the time at least once a week maybe more. My kids love it too. They will make you whatever you want. Danglos rewards card every 50 bucks gets you 5 dollars back in free food. Keep it up. The food poisoning reveiw sorry you got sick.
