I immediately noticed a problem with the torque converter and started to call around so I can get a shop that can put a fluid in the transmission to get me by. I know it's a band aid solution but I called Marco at 5pm and he graciously allowed me to come in. He was SLAMMED and yet managed to get me in. We both know it's a temporary fix and he set the proper expectation. Needless to say it got me on the road and headed back to my family. Most shops would take advantage of people from out of town especially knowing I wouldn't take it back to him if there was an issue but they did an honest, perfect, and clean job. They didn't have to bend over backwards to take care of me but they did. This shop is busy for a reason. It would be foolish to consider taking your vehicle anywhere else. Thank you!!!!!

Then they said they recommended changing the transmission valve body on the truck. I was without my truck from 10/29/24 to 12/10/24 Then again from 12/17/2024 to 1/14/25 holidays closed for a week that i understand Less than 100 miles later the same issues came up like when i dropped it off, keep in mind now i smell a fuel leak in cab and the check engine light never turned off. This would've been the 3rd time I dropped it off, however now I called today and was being told its going to be something else coming from the motor and that they only work on transmissions. The whole time i was without my truck they wouldn't answer any of my calls after a while or would they give me any updates. Beware of shop and don't go through what i just did. Its like neither my time nor money was respected at around 3k already. Now I have to find other options for truck and spend time to get a Lawyer and go through the process of trying to do a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Frustrating that now i have to spend more time and money to get it my truck to run right. Beware and very cautious with this shop, be sure to get everything in writing before you agree on anything. Had my transmission rebuild 2 weeks ago at C R Transmissions paid $1500 and whe I got it back…read morenoticed that it had Vibration while moving. When back to let them know about the issue and I was not even finished telling him the problem when Rick tells right away that is not a transmission issue without even inspecting in or driving it. He started telling me that it was probably my engine or tires when my truck was fine except for reverse had gone out. He test drove it and came back saying it was vibrating and it was probably a U Joint on Driveshaft but never agreed to look at it or fix it. I went home and got under it and found that U joint was not centered because of the bearings inside had moved when they worked on it and dropped the driveshaft and never inspected bearings inside. So I took pictures put it back and took it to him showed guy pictures and he agreed to put new U Joints but when I picked it up they just put same old u joint back on it. I just hope that they did better Quality on transmission rebuild and I dont have Differential leaks from Driveshaft Vibrating. This guys have been doing Transmissions for years but are not a 4 or 5 star shop because they will not Honor their work just like any shop they dont want to work for free on their mistakes. He was so nice and claimed he was Honest before Rebuild but everything changes after they take your Money.

My wives 4 year old car with only 41,000 easy miles on it burned out the automatic transmission on the interstate for no reason, 1 year and 5,000 out of warranty. The fluids were full etc, likely a factory defect. Many automatic transmission repair place are rip offs. I checked Yelp and found Love Field Automotive had 50 great reviews but don't do major transmission repairs. I called Randy there and asked for a referral. He said they have sent major transmission repairs to C & R Transmissions in Oak Cliff for 20+ years and to ask for the owner Rick. I called Rick and had AAA Texas tow the car there (AAA Texas did a great job also; 20 minutes to get to us). Rick told me what he thought was wrong, quoted me a fee of $1,350 plus tax, and said it would take likely 3-5 days. This is a family owned business since the 60's. They finished it in less then 2 days, showed me the bad parts, explained exactly what happen, rebuilt the entire unit for the price quoted. He felt it was a factory defect also. I checked the other transmission repair place mentioned in Yelp and none would quote a "worst case scenario price", many were rude, and their rough estimate was 50-100% higher than C & R's. The warranty is the same 12M/12,000 everywhere. An added plus was to find the C & R has the Oncor Electric contract for the greater Dallas area & had 3 of the Oncor trucks in for repair today. If I were you, I'd drive out of my way for C & R. They were GREAT, as was Randy at Love Field Automotive for the referral and AAA Texas for the prompt service.

My husband bought our car here to get fixed  (before doing due dilegence on the shop) after he got a diagnotics to see what the problem was and the man over the phone told him "If you drop your car off this morning, I can get it back to you by end of the day". Well.... that same day turned into 3 days with no real update on the progress of the car. My husband called numerous time for the status of the car and was not getting an clear answer on if the car was fixed and ready for pick up. So my husband goes to the shop to get our car back because AAMCO has no customer service and the car is obviously not being worked on properly, if at all. When my husband arrives the man at the front asks the mechanic, "should we let him take the car"? ............ its our car and if the car has not been fixed or cannot be fixed by your mechanics, give the customer his keys and apologize for the inconvience. After my husband is forced to pay over $800 just to get the car back for work that has not even been done (as we already knew they were giving us the run around the past few days) he drives the car and it is driving worse than how he took it in Severice engine light still on! My Husband calls the shop and tells them and the guy on the phone says that the car will need to get more work done............. After having it for 3 days with NO updates and when my husband paid, they didnt mention "additional work". Luckily, we end up connecting with a professional and trusted car mechanic who showed us the parts under the engine that were supposed to have been new parts and replaced by AAMCO but, as we figured from their lack of integrity and professionalism, were not. The new mechanic we went to did the actual work on our vehicle and we were able to notice the difference immediately once driving. This same job took less than 6hrs where as AAMCO deliberately held our car for 3 days, and would have been longer if my husband didnt go to the shop to get the car. Moral of the story is that this location AAMCO is a joke within the car repair industry and this location in particular is ran by insideous LIARS THEIVES SCAMMERS!  Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this place and DO NOT BELIEVE ANY GOOD REVIEW because 9/10 it is a LIE!
