    UPDATE: Unfortunately, three years into the lease the "promises" made were all false. They say they check in with you quarterly to get you out of your lease ASAP... False.... They will respond to your multiple inquiries about your lease... false..... it started out so good to fall flat. Very disappointing.

Regardless, I found the service outstanding at the FtW 7th street location when I picked up the car and when I returned it several days later. While the Enterprise airport locations are open late, airport rentals tend to be more expensive when compared to other locations as the prices include airport fees. Also, a local must have a credit card to rent at airports but can use debit cards, with some additional paperwork, at all other DFW locations (my additional paperwork consisted of proof of my monthly socsec payments which took 30 seconds to get online & my most recent electricity bill which I also quickly obtained online). However, non airport locations in the DFW area have more limited hours, typically 7:30-6:00 on weekdays, & on weekends, most close while some are open for a few hours each day and some are open only for a few hours on Saturdays. Also, some locations allow after hour drop offs while others don't. To pick up the rental car, I took the Amtrak train, which was running late, into FtW. Though non airport DFW Enterprise locations close at 6:00, their last reservation spots are also at 6:00. As the train ran late, I was running really late; consequently, I took an Uber rather than public transpo; even so, I arrived about 6:20. I was frantic. I expected to find the door locked as I had recently at the Dallas location on Central at 6:03, but the door was open, & they were happy to rent a car to me. There was actually another customer who came in after me, & they were most pleasant with him as well. A couple of cars were also returned during this time, & the employees were also gracious & pleasant with these customers. When I was supposed to return the rental car, I underestimated traffic; consequently, the earliest I'd arrive was 6:40. I tried to call the store 2 or 3 times while I was renting the car, including when I saw how late I was going to be in returning it. If you call before 6:00, you may be put on hold for a long time, but you will be able to talk with someone by holding or by calling back, but if you call after 6:00, even if it's only by 1 or 2 minutes & even if employees sre still working, you will not reach anyone. While the employees worked late when I picked up the car, I didn't figure that they worked late every night. So, I knew they would not be there when I arrived, but at that point, I was so close that I decided to keep trying, & I'm so glad I did I also had to stop & get fuel so I wouldn't be charged for it. While I already thought they'd be closed when I arrived, I hurried getting gas just in case. Regardless, I didn't arrive until almost 6:50, & I couldn't believe they were still there & happy to see me. They quickly checked me in, & at 7:00 when I departed, they were still on the job, helping customers well past closing & doing so very graciously, very nicely, very pleasantly. I really enjoyed visiting with them while we conducted business. While the Dallas Oak Cliff location has very nice employees, esp a female supervisor who will go well beyond the call of duty to help you, I'd never before seen employees who are so charming & so nice & who act like they are so happy to help when customers arrive late even though such has caused them to work late. Not only was this the best Enterprise experience that I've ever had, & I've had many of them, it was the best experience I've ever had with a car rental company!!! I'd recommend the FtW 7th street location to anyone & everyone!!!

Upon returning, I was assisted by Ali. He was super friendly, helpful, and also provided really quick check out services. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was great with the car my experience. Thank you Thomas and Ali for such an easy process!

Was assured by the girl that it would be ready despite her being too lazy or incompetent to actually check my confirmation number or ask for a name or anything. Same girl calls the next afternoon to let me know my rental would in fact NOT be ready when I had requested and paid for it 7 months previously. Asked to speak with her manager and she was conveniently not in the office. The customer service line managed to yield an even worse experience from there. The employees at the DFW location were great, but now I'll likely end up having to fight the charges on my credit card because there's probably less than a 0% chance I'll find someone that's actually an AVIS employee to speak to about this. The customer service call centers are some of the worst I've ever experienced. If you want to do business with a company that has the WORST customer service you've ever experienced then Avis is for you. Hell will freeze over before I ever rent from Avis again

I called the local phone number and it rolled to customer service. All customer service can/will do is say "Yep. Sure was supposed to open 45 minutes ago!" Can't contact anyone. Can't let me return my car to another location less than half a mile away without penalizing ME for the change. Can't do anything useful. Meanwhile, I'm now late for work and for a meeting. Thanks for doing the least you can, Avis! Edit: After an hour and fifteen minutes, someone did show up, and I got the car checked in and myself back on track. After posting here and on twitter about the foul-up, I got a response from Avis customer service on twitter. I called and they made a fair and reasonable gesture to offset my inconvenience and frustration, which I appreciate. Adjusting my review upward a bit due to their follow-up.

When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by Brodie, a very handsome Marine and Sales Associate, who welcomed me with a big smile and handshake. His professionalism, patience, kindness, and understanding made the process smooth and enjoyable. His customer service was truly exceptional! I was also privileged to meet the handsome CEO, Chandler Hunt, who serves in the National Guard and leads his company with respect and honor for veterans. Mr. Hunt was friendly, knowledgeable, and just as committed to providing top-notch service as his team. They also offer full detail car washes--and they're amazing! My car looked brand new afterward. What a waste of everyone's time and my money! It's negligent and rude to allow customers to reserve cars you don't have available. When I called to verify that the message was not a scam, they confirmed it, but their only solution was to go to another Hertz 1hr and 45mins away. I asked if they had any agreements in place with local rental companies for when these events occur since their closest sister company was so far away and he said "No, on account of that I work for Hertz." Unhelpful, sassy, rude, and a waste of everyone's time. Now I have 5 hours to rent elsewhere and just accept whatever price is available. I will absolutely never use this company in any state ever again.

Went to throw it away and realized it was on the outside under the windshield wiper. They rented me a car with a parking ticket on it.
