Book ahead, skip the counter and the line, and go right to your car!…read more That's always your best bet to be honest. I'll never understand why anyone would want to start a rental at the counter these days with apps and online booking so readily available. My Hertz experience picking up was good although there wasn't much of a car selection in President's Circle as I would have expected. PC being the top tier, I usually see more variety and some luxury as well. I got a rather ordinary Nissan which was clean and quick. I also dropped off the same day. As others have mentioned, flying into DFW, the shuttle bus ride to Hertz was a big longer than at other airports. This is important to note if you're in a rush to catch a flight.

When I first arrived, they didn't even have cars available, which immediately set the tone. After finally getting a vehicle and returning it, my car was not checked in properly, which resulted in an incorrect charge of $1,147. Since then, it's been over a week of trying to get this resolved. I will say--the AI chat and live agents are polite and try to be reassuring. However, the process itself is incredibly slow and inconsistent. I've spoken to multiple agents and keep getting different answers, or the same repeated message that the refund "is being issued," without any actual confirmation or progress. It's frustrating to have to keep following up for something that was clearly an error on their end. Good customer service isn't just about being nice--it's about resolving issues efficiently, and that's where this experience has fallen short. I don't typically write reviews unless I feel like others should be aware. To be fair, it seems like the employees I've interacted with are trying their best, but there appears to be a real lack of communication between the company and their teams on the ground. It feels disorganized, and as a customer, that comes across as the company being focused on collecting charges rather than properly taking care of issues when they arise. Overall, this experience has been disappointing, and I hope Hertz improves both its internal communication and how quickly it resolves customer issues.

Upon arrival, I waited in line for over 45 minutes to pick up my vehicle. While the actual transaction process was efficient once I reached the counter, the wait time itself was unexpectedly long--especially after a full day of travel. Like many customers, I had already navigated multiple legs of a trip, and at that point, the goal is simple: get in the car and go. One thing that stood out to me was that while SIXT had a line nearly around the corner--clearly indicating strong business and demand--nearby competitors appeared to have minimal wait times, with only a few customers being assisted at once. This speaks volumes about the success and popularity of your brand, which is a huge positive. However, it also highlights an opportunity. During high-demand periods, ensuring proper staffing levels can make a critical difference in the customer experience. Time is incredibly valuable, and in my case, the delay shortened the time I had planned to spend with my son. We had hoped to share a meal together, but instead, I had to rush to get him to work. While individual circumstances may not always be visible to staff, the collective experience matters. Customers arriving after long travel days are often tired, eager, and sometimes emotionally carrying more than meets the eye. Creating a smoother, more efficient transition from arrival to vehicle pickup would not only improve satisfaction but also strengthen customer loyalty. SIXT is clearly doing many things right--your demand reflects that. With a few operational adjustments around staffing during peak times, the experience could match the strength of your brand. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback. (I don't need to add a photo of the car because it is lovely and they just received a fleet of cars so I am sure turning them over at the rate they are I get it and the wonderful woman helping me at the garage helped me immediately) this is a positive review and their cars are

It is a solid plus 10 minutes from the terminal on the bus and the wait for a bus can be long as well. I used the shuttle bus twice during a recent trip and honestly wondered why it was so far away. The only other time I encountered a longer shuttle ride was LA and that shuttle bus trip was further compounded by a ton of traffic. The good is that the shuttle buses were frequent during the time of day I used them in the early afternoon. I waited 10 minutes on arrival for a bus and the same on the return. So if you factor in 25 minutes to the terminals, I think you should be ok. The folks driving the buses were alright also though I didn't interact with them at all.

The return for your car is in a completely different area from where you rented the car. The entrance is poorly marked and I ended up in the wrong area returning the car. I dropped off the car and of course every terminal shuttle but the one I needed came by. I finally was able to get on my shuttle. My shuttle driver was the nicest woman ever but Jesus H. Christ she drove slooooooooooooowwww. Then there's the never ending construction which throws more "adventure" into the mix. I didn't plan for this comedy of errors - and missed my flight as a result. I arrived at the terminal with only 45 minutes to spare. As much as I hate Atlanta's airport, at least they have an APM from their rental site to the terminal. This ended up being a painful $400 lesson. Next time I'll uber and rent offsite.

We even received a free upgrade from a full-size car to a Jeep Compass! This was especially nice since we were charged $50 more for the same number of days that I booked over Laor Day weekend. The individuals we encountered were friendly and efficient. The only downside to an upgrade is it was more expensive for gas than a car would have been but wasn't too crazy. Everything went well until I called in to report that my daughter left her Air Pods in the glove compartment. I called within 2 hours of dropping the vehicle off which meant there was a good possibility the vehicle had not been rented back out yet, which meant a better likelihood we'd get our item back. I was informed that nobody would go right out to check the vehicle but instead I had to file a report online which wasn't addressed until later the following day. Of course, by then I was told they couldn't find anything yet. So, either they couldn't check because the vehicle had been rented out again or someone had already stolen the Air Pods. As someone who has worked in many customer service roles, I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of urgency to help us retrieve the forgotten item. I understand the company is not responsibility for lost or stolen items, but I feel like they could have done better to help us. Everyone has lost or forgotten things in their life, and you would hope a customer service company would be more sympathetic and do more. As a human being, I know I would have personally ran immediately outside to check and have done as much in previous employments. Very disappointed with the uncaring attitude and feeling like we are just a report number and not a repeat customer.

Oh - and be aware - there are lots of toll roads in the Dallas area. Alamo has a built-in toll transponder for which they charge a $5 fee, but no one explained that, nor how it works. (Basically, you'll get a statement a week after returning the car with your tolls charged to your credit card.) SO DON'T PAY TOLLS AS YOU DRIVE - use the automated lane and you'll pay later. One thing to note- if you have loyalty with Avis/preferred member status through renting a lot or credit card, you can skip the inside line and go straight to the member line outside in the garage itself (not clear to me until I finished waiting in the inside line and the clerk told me where to go). I preselected and prepaid online for a "mystery" car which was extremely cheap (probably 1/5th the price) compared to the other choices at the time. I ended up getting an electric SUV. Return was just as easy. Head back to DFW and follow signs for the rental car center. At that hour, you would think they'd be better staffed knowing flights are still coming in--but apparently not. We stood there forever while the line barely moved. To make things worse, when it was finally our turn, they had messed up our reservation. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff was rude, dismissive, and acted like it was somehow our fault. No apology, no urgency, just attitude. Customer service was honestly shocking. After waiting that long, the last thing anyone wants is to be treated like an inconvenience. It felt like they couldn't care less about the experience they were providing. If you're flying into DFW, do yourself a favor and book with literally anyone else. After landing, you first need to take the DFW rental car shuttle to the rental car center, and then transfer to a second shuttle to reach Easirent. We waited over 15 minutes for the Easirent shuttle, and the drive from the rental car center to the pickup/drop-off location is another 3 miles, taking roughly 10-11 minutes. Overall, the multiple transfers and waiting times add up and can be frustrating, especially after or before a flight. The staff at the location was however very helpful, once you breakthrough the initial grumpiness of working for a car rental company where everybody probably complains about the multiple steps to even just getting there. If you're short on time or want a smooth airport pickup experience, it's worth knowing this in advance.

Absolute bait and switch--avoid this place at all costs!…read more I've been renting cars for over 20 years and have never experienced such aggressive, dishonest upselling. I booked this rental expecting to pay around $289, but by the time the agent was done "adding on" fees, my total ballooned to $830.60. The worst part was being forced into a $35/day "unlimited mileage" charge ($315 total) that I explicitly told them I did not need. Even with a standard 150-mile-per-day limit, I would have had over 1,300 miles to use--way more than necessary. On top of that, they tacked on a $134.91 "Tire & Glass Pack" and $270 for CDW. They also bury a predatory late fee in the fine print: if you are even slightly late, they charge a massive $129.37 per day plus taxes. I should have gone with Enterprise for $500. Instead, I ended up paying nearly double that for a Chevy Trax. I will never rent from Easirent again. Save yourself the headache and the money--go literally anywhere else.
