Key Fob for 2008 Range Rover timeline Main issue was the car…read morewould not start, we towed the car to Firestone on 10/9/26 to 613 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 * Called ABC Locksmith by my wife on Friday at 5:23pm 10/09/26 * Received a call back at 5:33pm * My wife received another call back at 5:45pm * I received a call at 5:45pm from same number, I called them again at 6:32pm * My wife received called back at 6:32pm * I called them on 10/10/26 at 9:24am * I received a call from ABC locksmith 10/11/26 at 9:30am * At 9:52am I received a call from the tech was at was at Firestone service center where my car was located at. * Once we met the tech, he worked for 15 minutes, of that he spent 12 minutes on his phone, stated that the cost would be 3 times the cost quoted to us which is 1500, original quote was 450.00. I asked him to hold off till Wednesday; he stated that he had to be paid 450.00 for doing nothing. I told him I was not paying him for doing nothing. Then he changed his story to say that he would do the job for 950.00 guaranteed. * I then agreed to allow him to proceed under those conditions. * After two hours he was unable to get the key and fob to start the car, he stated that both keys and fob ( one of the fob he sold was a cheap FOB that is not original fob for the car) were working and that something else was wrong with my car. I refused to pay him when nothing was working, either one fob would unlock the car, but the other one would not, he said he could not get them to work together. He stated that he would not put my dash back together till I paid him for a job unfinished. My wife told me to pay him so we could get the car back, we were strong armed in this case. * At 2:41 pm I called one of my techs who works for me if he had a jump pack for the battery, he came and tried to jump the car but it did not work, later I called another of my techs and ask him to check my desk for a black piece of plastic that maybe be part of my key fob (I removed the cover the day before showing another employee how to change the battery) the employee found the black piece on my desk, he went to my car install the piece into my fob and the car started * I called the locksmith that I got the car started and told him that nothing was wrong with the car, he stated that he would come out on 10/12/26 to program his fob, after hour he killed my battery again. He requested that I changed the battery for I did that day to a new battery, I texted him that I changed the battery and he text back that he would be back the next day. * On 10/13/2026, ABC locksmith came to my job to try and program my new fob, after trying for one hour, I informed him that he did not know what he was doing, he still not figure out how to program two FOB's together, My tech (Anthony) and myself shown him how to do it, he said for me to take the FOB he ordered for my VIN number and get another locksmith to program it. I refuse it and he said the owner would be calling me later that day. * I called the locksmith at 6:55pm and spoke with him for 11 minutes asking why the Owner did not call me, he stated that he made whole by having two key fobs work for which I shown him how to do. Only problem was we had a 2027 Chevy Suburban and no local Enterprise or even the airport could accommodate the same class vehicle as they are always difficult to get. He asked for my address and arrived at my house within 25 minutes... no muss/ no fuss! He tried to unlock my lock for about an hour. I was super afraid he would give up and leave but he didn't. He kept trying until he got me inside. Turns out the only reason the lock took so long is due to failsafes in the lock's design to keep it from being picked. I asked him to drill off the lock and even when it broke a drill bit, he kept going. That's why I say he's persistent. This guy is the best!
