Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Buyer Beware My husband and I were on vacation when we were unexpectedly locked out of our vehicle and needed a replacement key. Unfortunately, we felt we had no choice but to use this company because of the situation. We were charged over $700 for a replacement key, which we found to be extremely excessive. In hindsight, we should have contacted AAA and had our vehicle towed directly to the dealership, which likely would have been a significantly more reasonable option. What was most disappointing was the overall experience and the feeling that the price was based on our circumstances rather than the actual value of the service provided. We felt taken advantage of during a stressful situation. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and checking with your dealership or roadside assistance provider before agreeing to a price. I would give the ABC Locksmith 5Stars just because he really helped without taking big $$$$$'s from us for a new fob. He fixed a broken 2020CRV Honda fob so that we could still use it. Gal only charged us $5 for a lithium battery. Now that's being a good guy!!!! We took his business cards to let our neighbors know there's a great locksmith/car fob tech who cares and helps. Trust me....if you were locked out of your car, or worse, your house this would be the person to do business with. The ABC location in Myrtle Beach was able to program a new key fob (which I provided) for my Hyundai Santa Cruz. The did a good job but were just a little curt while doing the job. Just seems like they could be a little more friendly when charging you over $150 for a job that only took about 12 minutes. read more

They told me $225 max over the phone and came and switched it to $450. added random fees and taxed it up. don't waste ur time getting a new key here. my keys got stolen so I was getting a replacement. read more

I went in to get a BMW key replaced that at the dealership was almost 400$. ABC was able to replace the key and program it successfully for 250$. Friendly greet and good service. I will be back and will recommend this business. read more

The locksmith called me concerning my programing new key FOBs and gave a price. He instructed me to go to their location to get it done. Price quoted was $120, I have the text as well as phone call as proof. I went to the location and they said it will be over $400. This company should be ashamed for their bait and switch practices. read more

Buyer beware! A poorly run business. A summary of the work performed on June 27, 2024 in NMB. 1. Excessive overcharging. $800.06 for 90 minutes of work. This price includes an hourly charge of $500. $139 for an inexpensive, 2 5/8" bezel, door knob and deadbolt combination. (Less than $30 at Home Depot) Arrival time 10:00 PM, finished at 11:30 PM. 2. Improper use of the SC Sales and Use tax. The total tax should have been $11.12 or 8% on the excessively overcharged door knob and dead bolt. SC Sales and Use tax does not allow for sales tax to be charged on labor when shown separately on the invoice. The tax rate for North Myrtle Beach is 8%, and not the Myrtle Beach rate of 9%. 3. Negligence. The door knob was a Schlage commercial door knob with a standard 5 pin cylinder. The deadbolt was a Schlage residential deadbolt with a standard 5 pin cylinder. The door should have been opened without damaging the locks and door. (Validated by other locksmiths in the area) By using a drill and vise grips, the door was dented and scratched. I had to pull out the dents and prime and paint the damaged area. 4. The installed door knob and dead bolt were of inexpensive quality. I arrived at the condo a week later and 3 out of 4 latch plate screws were missing and the door knob was very loose. All of the door knobs in the area have a 3" bezel, while they installed a 2 5/8" bezel. I removed the inexpensive knob and deadbolt and replaced with better equipment. 5. A reputable locksmith had previously opened the door a few years earlier without drilling out the knob and deadbolt. 6. Our senior guest was taken advantage of after a long and difficult day. read more

Price gouging at its finest ! Quote you a price and then explain it was the initial call service charge and add on a lock out fee! All in all they ripped my daughter off for 250$............ i disputed charge and called company to try to rectify situation to no avail. I lost my car keys. Had a spare and wanted a new one. Went in for a good 2 hours and had to write down my number for the manager to come in the next week. When i come back the second time the fob on the key is still not working after another 1.5 hrs of me waiting without them telling me anything thats going on. So i come in a 3rd time, still cant get fob to work so after almost 5 hrs of waiting at this terrible establishment I ask to get a refund for the fob that is still not working. The manager in the store told me there are no refunds. 1 thanks for wasting my time 2 thanks for wasting my money 3 thanks for messing up my other fob that worked fine before hand Horrible customer service Manager told me to leave when i said i was going to withdraw the payment from discover. I genuinely dont think that anyone that works there has any idea about key fobs as every other customer i saw in the store also could not get there keys to work.
