The seating is not set-up for COVID only 3 chairs which are all connected... Standing room if you come alone... Good thing we came in early for our 4:30 Reservation. They overbooked time slot and were running behind... Shortly afterwards three more women came in for 4:30 appointment too...We had to wait over 35 minutes before our appointment... seemed that they were desperate to make up for lost time that they had to close doors due to COVID...Woman whom did my nails was rude and I couldnt help but stare at her filthy mask... Plus, I totally could not understand her broken English... She was ruff but nails look good and I am being generous on rating... What ever happened to politeness and respect? This was honestly the worst nail salon I have ever come across. Came into town for my sister's wedding, we made an appointment for 9 people which they said there would be no problem accommodating. We showed up and they only had 5 employees working. They assured us that they could fit us all in before the rehearsal dinner at 4:30. We arrived at noon. It was a disaster from the get go. The bridesmaids wanted to do French pedicures which some of the nail techs did not know how to do properly. My pedicure portion was ok, but the painting of my toes was absolutely terrible. The white part was incredibly thick, and they refused to thin it out when asked. And due to time restraints I finally stopped asking. Thinking this appointment couldn't get any worse, I continued on to get my nails done. I asked for a full set of acrylics in a nude color. The nails were rushed, and seriously looked so terrible I had to ask for a refund. They were thick and downright messy. Please do yourself a favor and do not come to this nail salon. Once I got back home I went to my go to place and it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get these off. My nails are destroyed. read more

I've been here three times since they've opened (mid-April '17). First time, I had Johnny do a full set on my nails since I needed a new one. Everything was great until I got home, when I looked at my nails, they weren't filed correctly, the gel polish wasn't applied evenly and they looked cheap. Second time, I went to get a pedicure - that was excellent. It's a good basic pedicure that has lasted with just nail polish. Third time was today, I went back for a fill, and it was one of the worst fills I've ever had (and this was with a new nail tech that I had never seen there, not Johnny). Again, the gel polish isn't evenly applied, the acrylic isn't covering all of my nails in spots, the gentlemen doing my nails burned me with the rotary nail file, enough so that it still hurts. Overall, the place is clean and new, but the manicures aren't up to par. read more

I made an appointment about 3 weeks in advance for a bridal party. We arrived on time and we were seated fairly promptly. The services were okay, not work the prices they are asking for. Personally I think $60.00 for a pedicure w/French tip is WAY TO EXPENSIVE. Not to mention there wasn't social distancing, and the workers weren't wearing their masks correctly. The main woman that runs the place takes on too much. She had appointment after appointment scheduled and I felt bad for people because they were waiting about an hour or more. my daughter had recently broke her nail so me being the good mother I am took her to get them fixed, when she was finished her cuticles were all messed up and she had air bubbles in her nails and they were not even filed right. Extremely disappointed. I got a nail dip on vacation and was excited to get something I wasn't allergic to. When I came here for a fill she completely removed everything even the extension which took over an hour. Then I only time for a manicure which didn't even look good. Now 3 of my nails cracked and had to be cut down very short. Looking on YouTube these did not have to be removed. They could have been filed down and re-dipped. Big waste of time and money read more

I used to really love this place. A couple days ago my step daughter and I went there to get gel nail polish and hers came off the next day. I thought no big deal, I've always had a good expirience with them so I'm sure they will just re-paint them. I called and asked and the lady said she would re paint them and told me to come in. She told me a certain time so I got there at that time and then she told me she said a different time. It was a mess!! She asked me to come back another day even though I was there when she told me to be. It was just not a great expirience, it was embarrassing. Have come here before and the pedicure massage was great. Came today and it didn't even happen. Paid for the highest pedicure just to get it. He spent more time walking around and cleaning up. Rubbed lotion then banged on one leg and then wiped it off with a towel. Maybe it was just an off day but I don't like wasting money at places who won't even try and give me what I paid for. Made an appointment for a mani pedi for 12:230. Came in at 12:20 expecting to wait a few minutes but wanted to pic a polish. Was told to take a seat after 25 minutes the lady sitting next to me asked if I had made an appointment I said yes. She had to for noon. By this time it was 12:45. Finally a lady told me to take a seat in the pedicure chair. Was not told to pick a polish nor did she have any water in the tub. I sat looked at the tub and the chair arms and they were not clean. Needless to say I walked out and so did the other lady. If you make an appointment you should be seated at that time. I realize you get busy but don't try and squeeze people in if you don't have enough time. Very rude and a waste of my time. Cleanliness is everything especially right now. read more

I really enjoyed my visit here! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I came in for glitter tips and they did an amazing job! I do wish they had a silver glitter but I did go with the pink glitter and they are adorable. I just don't wear punk much but it was the most glittery option so I went with that. Delightfully attentive mani/pedi today! Visiting Sonora and I called and was able to get in within 1/2 hour. After arriving, I decided to upgrade my pedicure to the paraffin wax treatment which in turn (because it was very soothing) resulted in an upgraded manicure. I was looking for a nail shop to give me a basic manicure and pedicure for a wedding I was attending. I found D & D nails on Yelp with 4.5 stars so I thought I'd give it a try. What I found was an overpriced nail shop with terrible service and quality for the manicure and pedicure you receive. The polish they offered was old and lumpy. My manicurist apparently wasn't paying attention to shaping my nails because she alternated between square and rounded. Between my partner and I, we paid $70 for 2 basic pedicures and 1 manicure with a $5 upcharge for a nail buff. If you're in the Sonora area and you need your nails done, DO NOT go to D&D nails! read more

First off I generally only get four stars as a top rating because we all could use improvement. In this case I was new to the area and badly needed a fill and a pedicure. My daughter-in-law had heard about this place but had not been. I needed my nails done badly as it had been going on for weeks since my last fill and I won't even discuss what my poor feet look like after moving from Southern California. I called and made an appointment as I was in sure if they took walkins or were very busy, upon my arrival I was greeted kindly and asked to choose a color and it was showed over to the spa pedicure or I would be sitting. The gal did a wonderful job on my feet and massage my legs and feet so well that if it didn't hurt from the past week I probably could have fallen asleep. After that I went to the gals table that was going to do my nails, she was very sweet and was very receptive to me telling her how I like my nails to be. It did take some time for her to do them but she was being very precise and gentle through the whole process. She apologized often for the time it was taking but I was not concerned as I had no where to be and it just felt good to be able to get my girl on again. I would highly recommend the shop, it is extremely clean and the employees are very nice and genuinely want to get to know you better. I wish I could remember the girls to pampered me but I was extremely tired from my first week at work and moving out here. I would definitely recommend going here. This places is definitely one of the nicer salons in town, in my opinion--the staff is nice and the environment is really clean. I've came here a few times and have been happy with the service. Today, I took my friends daughter with me (she's 8 & practically a little sister to me) so she could get her first pedicure. We were treated well and had fun. However, I was extremely disappointed when I went to pay & they charged her as an adult. His argument is that she was a couple inches taller than the counter. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. The moment we arrived, every one knew she was a kid--one option for the kind of pedicure, offering to paint little flowers on her toes, asking if she was my daughter or sister, etc. If they're going to have a "height requirement" for children prices, it should be posted/disclosed. That's crazy to raise the service price from $7 to $25 because she's a few inches taller than a counter top. Very disappointed and irritated, and suggest if you want to do something with your kids, better do it while they're short. read more

I tried D&D Nails after a friend said she had the best pedicure she'd ever had there. I needed a pedicure, my acrylic nails removed and then a full set put back on. The pedicure was okay. Not incredible, not awful. Just alright. The woman who gave me the pedicure asked me four times if I wanted my eye brows waxed . As a man was removing my nails, he told me that they don't do white acrylics, that they only do white tips with a pink overlay. They didn't even have glitter acrylic. it was very obvious that he was more interested in gossiping with his co worker than working on my nails. Their voices were very hushed any time a certain coworker would go to the back. I told the man three times that he was hurting me before he stopped. He ripped off parts of my natural nail and made me bleed (picture was taken at a different nail shop after she put the tip on). I won't be going there again. read more

So nice to find a place to have the creature comforts of home (living in a big city) when we come up to the mountains. Was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and the place was clean & tidy and very nicely decorated. I got the spa pedicure with the hot paraffin wax. The service was done by Don, and he did a great job. So relaxing and my feet felt so much better! The place is run by a husband & wife team, nice accommodating folks. The salon is on Washington before you get into the busy part of town. it's across the street from the old Gunn hotel. Will definitely stop in again when I'm up here! read more

This place is one of the worst nail salons I have ever been to. I had called and made an appt for my boyfriend and I to get pedicures and for me to get a dip nail manicure. We get there and they hadn't written down our appt and wouldn't listen to want we wanted. So we finally sat down at two of the pedicure chairs. We got the most expensive pedicure which was not worth the money AT ALL not to mention WAY more expensive than most nail salons in the area. I was impressed that they used plastic liners in the bowls but still thought it was dirty. My pedicure was extremely rough and painful. Also, he refused to throughly grind off my calluses on my heels. I got a French pedicure and the line was smudged. My boyfriends pedicure was mediocre and uncomfortable. I had to remind them I wanted a dip nail manicure and he made my boyfriend pay for everything before we were all done, which I was not happy about. The woman who did my dip nail manicure was rough as well and was using unsanitary files and equipment. She also dipped my nail in the powder which I found out later that is not the way you are supposed to do it because it can transfer bacteria. After she was done shaping the nail, I asked her if it could be smoothed more because it was bumpy and she told me no and that it looked fine. After she was done, we went home and I asked my boyfriend how much it was and he said it was $180! I took off the dip nails myself because they were huge and had bumps all over them. A week or so later, I noticed my toe nail was yellow with fungus!! Let's just say I will never go back again. I rarely post yelp reviews but I feel this experience needed one. read more

I had to ask him to cut my nails. He filed my skin instead of nails. When he got through the horrible pedicure, I finally had to say something about the horrible polish job. A lady came over and said she would fix them. So I sat and wait for her to finish her client. She finally came over and fixed them and they were better but not great. Then she took me to do my nails. They are not great either. They are not painted evenly, polish and clear coat all over my cuticles. Just super disappointing and of top of that it was $80. Will not go back again. Went here on a recommendation from a friend. May did a great job on my pedicure which included an extra long massage. Toes came out looking great. All technicians wear masks and social distancing is maintained. A large, movable plastic sheet is between you and your technician to prevent exchange of droplets, etc. Prices are reasonable and I was able to make the appointment easily. I will return to this salon again and recommend this establishment for an excellent pedicure. read more
