I made an appointment & brought in 5 pictures and said "You are the artist" He assessed my hair, moving his knowledgeable fingers through my hair & cut it dry. That was the first sign, the only other hairdresser that could give a great cut, cut my hair dry. WOW, I get up in the morning & finger-fluff it and go, and it was that way for weeks. He knows hair, and I have given him the moniker of 007. I told him I am calling you 007. At my next appointment once again.....the most amazing haircut ever & when he was done I said "they call you 007" he laughed & smiled and said "you do" James you better never retire!!! Seriously, I can't believe we have a stylist in Sonora of his quality & I didn't have to drive to San Francisco or LA. A+++

Thank you to Stephanie Garcia (my amazing previous hair stylist) for introducing me to Andrea…read more From the moment I messaged Andrea about setting up a hair appointment - she was helpful and responsive. We started out with a bang trim. I showed her a picture of what I wanted - and she cut them perfectly. I have a slew of over-indulgent selfies to prove it :) I have had two haircuts since our first meeting and I have loved each one Andrea is exceptional at clarifying with her customers what they want and she takes her time in each aspect of the hair appointment to make sure that her customers are not only satisfied with their cut, but that they feel valued during the process. She takes so much pride in her work and it shows in every aspect of her beautiful cuts. Not only is Andrea an extremely skilled hair stylist, but she's wonderful to talk to. I always appreciate how responsive she is when I reach out about setting up an appointment - and how welcoming (yay for low-key boho vibes) and convenient Rooted salon is. Trust.

Went to see Toni for the first time. I wanted a cut and color. Got there at 11. She was supposed to…read moreeven out my hair and blend it better, AND color my hair. I was very adamant about NO bob, no page boy look, or anything like this. She didn't listen and gave me a bob and never even colored my hair! I was there for 2 HOURS! Nobody that I've shown my hair to says it looks good. I thought I'd mess with it and see what I could do. Well, it's so short I can hardly put it into a pony tail, and I look like a little dutch boy or little lord font Leroy! Not even a bob you'd see on line! I called her today, 2 days later and told her it's not good. She blew me off, wouldn't listen to anything I was trying to say and basically said it will be fine and it will grow and in a couple of week it will be fine? What the hell? She was rude, dismissive and basically talked over me the whole time. When I asked why she wasn't letting me say anything, she just said I already did! No respect for the client! And she hung up on me! If you go to this salon where she supposedly has been in the business for over 30 years, DO NOT USE TONI! She will give you the worst cut you've very had!!! Horrible experience. As a matter of fact this is the very worst cut I've ever had!! I haven't had a bad cut since I was 15 and I'm 63 now. So that should tell everyone something. She had me facing away from the mirror so I wasn't able to see what she was doing. But when I did I told her that's looking like a Bob, that's not what I want. She totally ignored me and kept going and saying,"oh it will be fine." I'm embarrassed to even go out in public it's so ugly!! Just don't use Toni! Horrible person! She won't even attempt to make it right.

I NEVER write poor reviews like this, but I am so disappointed…read more I had an appointment with Nat scheduled for TWO MONTHS. I messaged her to confirm it about a week before my appointment, she said everything was good to go.... Then she cancelled on me 2 days before the appointment. She said her grandma wasn't doing well, but turns out she has 7 bridesmaids and 3 prom girls scheduled on the same day/time I was scheduled for and she hasn't cancelled on them... so... she overbooked herself and I was the easiest to get rid of. I WISH things would've turned out better. She did offer me an appointment a week later, but at that point I had lost all trust and was so disappointed that I told her it wasn't worth rescheduling.

I now have to wear a hat till it grows out, and I am fuming mad about this. Shame on you! If you know you don't know how to do a cut, admit to it instead of slaughtering someone's hair for 50 bucks! You should be ashamed, Linda. You're supposed to be a professional hairdresser. Update: My daughter just happened to come by a minute ago and did a little magic, making this mess look a little better. She is not a hairdresser, by the way, yet she can do a better job than Linda.
