We came here as a party of 12 on a Friday evening at ~6PM. We were seated immediately with a waitress taking drink orders within a few minutes. I ordered the Lea's Spinach Salad with chicken and my husband had 2 slices of pepperoni pizza. The salad was delicious and very generous! All in all we had a great time and staff was very attentive. The party had 2 young children (well behaved) and we took up pretty much the entire middle of the restaurant with no issue. read more

Raise your prices instead of nickle and diming your customers. This is really very tacky. It is posted before you walked in, but since i am dining with friends, i went along anyway, if it was just me i would have not gone in. This is a big turn off right away. On the plus side at least they let you know before you enter. As a business you should factor in the rising cost of things, cost of goods sold, fuel... whatever. Increase your price if you want, i would rather pay a higher price because i know you have to make money and everything else is expensive. Food is ok, tastes like cafeteria pizza nothing special. The ambiance looks like a very old diner. It's not worth it and adding surcharges is very tacky. I will never support a business that nickle and dime their customer. read more

As you can see, I never leave bad reviews. But I was absolutely livid after being ripped off by D'Amore's after spending $60 on delivery last night. I was too tired and disappointed to deal with them. So here I am. We ordered a medium ($25) specialty meatlovers pizza, garlic knots, and a bowl of minestrone soup. The pizza was thin crust that tasted like cardboard when I was expecting something resembling Neapolitan or actual Italian pizza. I grew up on very thin, cracker-like pizza. Even that would've been fine. This was not. Some toppings like the ham were loosely tossed on top and not actually baked into the pizza. The pizza arrived cold, and the sausage and pepperoni were very chewy. The sauce had congealed like it had sat for a while. We deemed it inedible after one slice each. The minestrone was an embarrassment for any Italian, including my husband, who gave up on it. Was it vegetable soup? It barely resembled any minestrone either of us have ever had. Did I mention my Italian in-laws? The bread knots were great, that is, the ones that weren't burnt to a crisp (4 were). I thought maybe they'd still taste okay. They did not. It was hard to understand how they were made so unevenly. Two stars because the other knots were good and the delivery driver was nice and arrived early. Otherwise, one. We recently held a surprise birthday party for my wife here and had over 40 guests. The restaurant was very accommodating and supportive for the event... They assisted us in planning a full menu with lots of different variations of appetizers including the freshest and most delicious bruschetta, softball sized sweet and scrumptious meatballs... The pastas were a baked ziti, pasta a la arbaritta, and a delightful pasta in a vodka sauce... We also dined on a variety of tasty pizzas including a nice vegetarian pizza with a nice white sauce to a traditional chocked full meat lovers creation... I give special attention to the salads which included a comprehensive antipasto, ceaser salad, and my favorite (don't tell anyone) - Lea's spinach salad served with shredded spinach, green apple slices, turkey bacon, and thinly sliced avocados with the most delicious sweet dressing known to man.. The entire staff was very attentive and supportive at the event and the environment was festive and pleasant, and didn't really require any additional decorations... Wow. Amazing food and excellent service. Not bragging, but I have been to Italy and the Carbonara was on par! Also had the buffalo mozzarella tower salad and it was light and refreshing. The gnocchi was delicious. Servers were helpful and attentive and made great recommendations. Portion size is huge, we all took leftovers home. Good amount of seating. The graduation timing did not make it easy to find a place to dine later in the evening, especially on a Tuesday in sleepy Camarillo. First of all the ambiance of this place first walking in was pretty cool. The staff was super friendly and seemed to genuinely like their job. They were very attentive even though they were fairly busy. You can tell the owner loves his restaurant and is proud of the service and food he provides. That transfers into the quality of the food. My wife got the chicken mushroom ravioli which was amazing. I got the classic chicken parmigiana which was delicious. We split a slice of pizza, yes, they can sell pizza by the slice. The cheese in the pizza is perfection. For desert we had cannolis. They were super light and creamy with a hint of lemon. Probably one of the best I've had. The owner is very into helping youth group fundraising. If you have ever thought of giving this place a try, do it. You won't regret it. read more

We ordered the thick crust pizza for take out. What I think is really great is that when you arrive, they throw the pizza back in the oven to finish cooking. Then you really get it hot and fresh! There is a sign at the host station that tells you that they cook your pizza to about 80% done and then throw it back in the oven when you arrive to finish it off. The downside to this is that you'll never just walk in and pick up your pizza, but the best part is that it will always be hot and fresh. We liked the thick crust Sicilian style pizza. It works well with their pizzas that have a lot of meat toppings because it holds up well. read more

When I lived in the area 9+ years ago, my friend and I were regulars for lunch. We always got 1 or 2 slices with a salad. Supposedly their pizza is made with water flown in from either Boston or New York (cant remember which) to give it that authentic taste. It is different than most other pizzas around and I think it is good but not jaw dropping. What I love the most is their Salad and the dressing they serve with it. I'm not sure what it is, but it tastes like a mix of Italian and Ceasar. I could bathe in it! You also get a garlic knot which is very delightful, dipped in dressing. I was visiting this weekend and my friend and I stopped in around 1:45. There was one other party there and it was fairly quiet inside. We were greeted immediately, sat at a booth, and our server said hello the second we sat down. The slightly weird thing is he did it all in spanish and even though I answered in English, he continued to speak spanish... not a complaint, just a little odd. Anywho, he took our order and the host served us the rest of the meal. I ended up with a small antipasto salad. Never had it before but the picture sold me. It was so good, exactly what I imagined and hit the craving I had for their dressing without being a plain ceasar. My one qualm today, my friend ordered minestrone. The broth of it looked at tasted like water, and there was no pasta in it, just vegetables. She had a couple bites but didn't eat it because it wasn't good and the server (remember it was the host now) didn't notice and inquire. Overall, good experience and good food. read more

I have been a Faithful patron to D' Amore's pizza since they've opened. They have great service, food, and ambiance. The only problem that I have ran into with this specific location, is that when you order something to go it could take over an hour to get your meal. Seriously, I ordered a Lea's Salad before coming down from Newbury park. I then proceeded to Trader Joe's to do some shopping-- a full cart mind you. I got to D' Amore's and had to wait an additional 25 min for my salad-- a salad!! This has been this way for as long as I could remember. My mom and I always come here anytime she visits from Texas. We do love the place, the staff and the food but the last time I visited I was aghast at the price hikes. I completely understand "inflation" but their garlic knots that used to be 6.00 for a bowl of 6 are now priced at 12.95! What?! Over double the price for bread?! Their ravioli used to be 17 now 27? This is insane. D'amores is good for a quick tasty bite to eat but I might as well go somewhere nicer and pay the same prices. Extremely disappointed in the price gouging going on here. Pretty good italian restaurant not far from where we live. I honestly love the decor, it's very darling inside & I love the atmosphere, somehow it's classy but casual at the same time. Pros: great food! I love love love their ravioli with pink sauce, is obviously pretty simple but has such great flavor. Their italian antipasti salads are always very fresh & a great appetizer to share before moving on to the heavier pasta dishes. Cons: I just never feel like the price is worth the food, definitely the biggest reason as to why we don't come back often. It's not ridiculously expensive but I just never felt the ingredients or atmosphere issued that much money to be dished out for a "decent meal". The staff is hit or miss, sometimes we have great service & sometimes our waiter seems to cling to the back near the kitchen that we are just left waiting too long at times for a refill and such. read more

My husband Just ordered 1 family size pizza with 3 toppings from the Camarillo location. We absolutely love pizza and enjoy trying new places. It took approximately 45 minutes to arrive and was warm upon arrival. I enjoyed it, although slightly burnt crust and they forgot the ranch dressing we requested. I was actually paying close attention to it as I ate it, knowing I would be reviewing it. Sauce to cheese ratio was good and I like the crispness of the crust, but in no way would this feed a family. The slices are just cut into much smaller pieces, so there's more slices. I've worked in a pizza shop when I was in high-school so I'm fairly familiar with the Industry. The pizza was good even though the size of what they called family size was ridiculous. I was still on board with ordering from them again until I asked him the price....$47 dollars with tax and tip for 1 normal large size pizza. Insane! Its no better than some of the other places in town and yet some how they could justify pricing it so high. I know roughly how much it costs to make a pizza, and I think it's pretty insulting to beat your customers and community over the head. If you are charging people so much money, maybe you should also make sure you do not forget their specific requests or burn the pie. read more
