    Egg coffee

Cute cafe within a small strip mall, making parking easy. I always love a Vietnamese coffee spot and Caphin had exactly what I wanted. The egg coffee was delicious. It definitely needs to be mixed very well but it's the perfect blend of coffee and the egg cream sweetness.

Stopped in mid Saturday morning after a yoga class next door. It was busy but the line to order moved fast. They specialize in Vietnamese offerings like egg coffee and Mochi bagels but also had a great matcha menu and I opted for a cold brew that was soooo good with cherry cold foam! The drinks are not only delicious but they're beautiful too! The space is bright and vibrant but on the smaller side. Will definitely visit again when in the area!

We arrived on a weekend and it was busy which was awesome! I ordered the tiramisu latte with almond milk and it was delicious, it even came with a little treat on top! I love going to places with seasonal drinks.

I was excited to try this place out since I always love coffee shops that incorporate Asian flavors. We came on a Friday morning and we thankfully managed to grab a table because it got pretty busy. My partner wanted to get some work done on his laptop and it seems like only the two tables right when you walk in are in course proximity to the outlets. There's free wifi and two bathrooms it's definitely a good place to hang out for a while or just catch up with a friend. I got the Ube Dream, which I really enjoyed. It had the right balance of ube flavoring. I would definitely try out more of their menu next time I'm in town!

Went to caphin in linden hills. I wish there was more seating because it's such a cute place. Service is great and staff is so friendly. Parking is easy as there's a lot available!

Great coffee! I have tried their matcha from the truck so I have been wanting to come to their cafe for their coffee! Salted caramel is a 10/10 if you don't like the bitterness of regular viet coffee. Pastries are okay; mine was a bit cold and not a lot of options in general. They have two gender neutral bathrooms but not a lot of seatings. Vibes are kinda cute and charming but I wouldn't dine in on a really cold day because a lot of the seating is right in front of the day .

Yesterday I met a friend for coffee and it was awesome to see how busy this place was! We were lucky to get a table and then ordered our drinks. I got a banana latte and it was sooooo amazing! It was a nice treat for a cold weekend. My friend and I spent a few hours there and it wasn't too loud and a nice vibe! Also loved that they are dog friendly so my pup got to come hang out! Can't wait to come back!

One of my favorite coffee shops in MPLS. The pandan latte is out of this world. The service is always quick and so friendly. The decor is so cute with ample seating and a fun photo op wall. The dog pics are my fave :). Really appreciate everything they've done during the struggles in Minneapolis as an immigrant coffee shop. Keep up the good work and I hope everyone continues to support this great spot - they deserve it!

Gorgeously decorated coffee shop. Lots of delicious drinks and snacks. Love it here! Service is quick and friendly. It's a small shop, but I was able to snag the last open seat today while I sipped on my espresso drink.

I'm a little late to the Càphin hype but finally made it here on a recent Wednesday morning. The shop is located in kind of a random spot in my opinion, a little strip mall on France Ave. Inside the space is small and super bright in a nice way. There are a small amount of tables and chairs that look nice for anyone working out of the shop. There is also a small couch and a couple more comfortable chairs. There was plenty of room when I was there but I bet it fills fast on a busy morning. Now the important part the coffee. I'm not the best judge of Vietnamese coffee as I'm more of a light coffee guy and a purist who normally opts for plain black coffee. Here I got the 'egg coffee' which was dark coffee topped with a creamy custardy mixture of egg, sweet and condensed milk and spices. The topping was great! The coffee itself was lacking in my opinion, but I'm out of touch with dark roast coffee these days. I also grabbed the Pandan Latte which was a flavor I've never tried before. Green like matcha but much better tasting in my opinion. If you like flavored lattes I'd get this. I want to come back and try the Vietnamese version of a pour over next time !

Visiting from the Bay Area and was so excited to find Vietnamese coffee spot. The ambiance was so beautiful inside. So pleasing and looks like a great place to study and/or hangout at. The drinks are pretty yummy. I tried their seasonal banana latte and their classic. The classic is a regular Vietnamese coffee, not sweet and very much like a regular Vietnamese coffee. Their banana latte was yummy though! It had a banana coconut foam on top and I do not like coconut but you couldn't taste it. I think I could have gotten a little stronger with the coffee flavor as I am more coffee forward and I love me a good, strong coffee. Service was kind and friendly, answered all our questions. Ordered a pork bao which are made to order so it look about 15 mins to wait for. Pork bun was ok not really worth the wait the chili oil that comes with it really helps it.

Pandan Latte and Matcha Coconut Drink

You can tell the Southeast Asian wannabe cafes from the real Southeast Asian cafes by their pandan syrup. Caphin has the real deal. You wouldn't expect to find Caphin nestled in an enclave of shops in the middle of nowhere, and you wouldn't expect so many people of all walks of life to make their way here. Half of the time my partner and I looked, there was a line. Service was efficient and friendly, satisfying the constant demand. I've had a few pandan lattes in my life and Caphin beats them all by a landslide. This pandan latte was equal parts espresso and pandan syrup, no one component overwhelming the other. There is a clear floral undertone that is distinctive to pandan. Outside the perfect flavor profile, they give the just the right portion size leaving you sufficiently caffeinated. I rave about the pandan latte more because it's harder to get right, but the coconut coffee special is also a fan favorite which we saw many people enjoy. My partner subbed the coffee for matcha and it was phenomenal. Not too sweet and tasted of fresh coconut and matcha. While some people took their drinks to go, just as many stayed and enjoyed the calm modern interior of the cafe. And there's no rush because they have multiple tables and two bathrooms to accommodate guests. My partner and I were so happy with our drinks and the vibes that we both got another one of our respective drinks and stayed a little longer than we would've expected. No wonder Caphin is so highly rated in Minneapolis. They deserve their flowers.

My coffee before I even drank any :(
    Elaine L.

The coffee is really good and the workers are super nice! The atmosphere is great, however, my coffee was not filled at all. After paying the ~ $7 dollars for my drink, I was expecting much better. Definitely would have been more satisfied if they had filled up my cup as expected for an expensive treat.

The miso cortado was delicious and really stood out, and they have a great variety of specialty drinks. The service was also extremely kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. That said, the space didn't quite live up to the hype. The location felt a little unfinished. Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch. I just wish the overall design and seating matched that relaxed, stay-awhile vibe. Great coffee and kind staff, but the space itself didn't fully align with the experience I was hoping for.

And so were the beans I took home. It's really nice to see a coffee shop that cares about their beans more than syrupy drinks. The shop itself is small but has some nice seating options. One thing to note is that they don't have WiFi so this place isn't really meant for the work from home crowd. I can't wait to get back here

I came in the middle of the day, so there were only a few tables occupied, so it was very calm--balm for these times. The house that the coffee shop is in is beautifully preserved--anyone who has been in a home of this area and era will immediately recognize its characteristics. It feels an awful lot like walking into that house where you spent so much time when you were growing up. From the tile in the bathroom, to the ceiling, to the layout, to the dark wood, it's like walking smack into your childhood safe place. The coffee is absolutely delicious (and the espresso machine pretty as can be). Smooth as silk and without a hint of bitterness, it's just as comforting as the environment and just as pleasant as the wonderful person who served it. Absolutely recommend this place. So when I passed the sign here that said "Warm Scones, Great Chai", I knew I had to try it! It's located kitty-corner from Isles Bun & Coffee, so you can always pick up more pastries from there after if you're not feeling like having a scone. We were the first customers of the day, and the gentleman that opened the door for us was very friendly. I think the interior was very cute, it was very cozy and has a homey vibe, but with seating that looked like it was from a Marie Calendars or Bakers Square. It was super quiet in there, no background music. I was kind of afraid to talk and felt like I should whisper like I was in a library. I got the Uncommon Chai and a chai scone. While the scone was ok, the chai was underwhelming. It just tasted like hot milk with a sprinkle of chai flavors somewhere in there. I could barely taste any cardamom, cinnamon or clove as is common in chai. I would say this is probably a MN interpretation of chai, definitely not authentic. Kind of like my family's former Chinese restaurant in southern MN. Not authentic, but rather a Midwest version of Chinese food. The cafe is in an old house, so this place is not wheelchair accessible from what I could see.

I know firsthand that coffee is king in Panama, so I figured anything inspired by their incredible coffee culture had to be worth trying. I visited Curioso on an early Sunday morning and immediately found it special. Not just for its coffee, but for the ambiance, service, and overall vibe. Curioso is a large, welcoming space that's part coffee bar, part brewery. I was immediately impressed by the variety of entertainment for all ages: arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, a skee-ball machine, board games, and even claw machines. Seating options are abundant, from cozy couches to tables and high-tops. There's a toddler play area and a library filled with books for all ages. The space feels family-friendly and is warm, welcoming community gathering space for all. I noticed flyers for free community events Curioso hosts, like Sunday Morning Yoga and Tuesday Trivia nights. The service was equally warm! The barista, although managing a busy Sunday morning solo, took her time to explain coffee options, highlight weekly specials with her own recommendations, and describe the pastries in partnership with Fruit & Grain and Bagels from St. Paul Bagelry. Oat milk is the standard for all their drinks! (Which I loved) We tried two speciality lattes: the "Butter Luck Next Year" (iced) and the "Blue Ribbon Peach Pie" (hot). Both were exceptional! Strong, robust, and delicious. Alongside, we also enjoyed an "Everything" handpie and a "Blueberry Lemon Curd" pop tart. Both pastries were out of this world delicious! I loooooved this pairing. I'm a sucker for savory, so the "Everything" handpie reigned supreme for me. Although I don't have a fur-baby (yet), I would like to include that Curioso is fur-friendly.
