I recently took in my husband's super expensive dress winter coat in.. it needed a zipper that zips both directions. He was a little apprehensive about me taking it in but it looks good as new. I've also taken my daughter's graduation dresses there through the years and have always been completely satiafied. To some it might seem like a bit of a pricey service but you get to keep your favourite cloths longer, they fit better and you're not always buying new clothes. Definitely recommended.

Kim is my go-to girl whenever I need something taken in, taken up, hemmed or even restructured! And that is quite often for me as I tend to be shrinking faster than I can buy clothing. Kim has even restructured a cashmere full length coat of mine, which turned out to be significantly less than replacing it! I've had the nice ladies at Westhills Alterations hem pants before, but I'm sure most tailors can at least fake their way through that basic task. But the day I picked up my expensive pair of jeans that I had them completely overhaul and they were a perfect fit was the day that my trust began in earnest. My lady has also used them to alter cocktail and casual dresses, and has been very happy with the results. Considering I am totally inept at sewing myself, their prices fit their work.

Awful experience! While I appreciate them taking on a rush order, Anna did NOT listen to what I was…read moreasking them to do (in hindsight, I should have had her write down what she understood I needed), I felt extremely rushed and she assured me that she understood what I needed. I even had pinned where I needed Velcro placed and also explained. I showed where to stop the zippers (she confirmed TWICE with me where to stop the zippers!) . I told her the insides of the dresses were not finished and that I would be finishing them once the zippers were in. I went to get them and the zippers were atrocious.. fabric puckered and teeth visible, not done as we had discussed and ended way too short! The zippers were cut so I can't even resew them in. She gaslit me by trying to tell me that I had pinned the Velcro where she had put them (I didn't and I showed her when I left them there). Said she couldn't do anything else with the zipper because the edges weren't straight- doesn't explain the horrible insertion of the zippers! I now how to rip it ALL out, buy new zippers and redo everything.. the velvet is damaged where the Velcro was wrongly placed.. she just said I should be "more concerned about the inside of the dresses than the bad zippers!" I'm just sick about this and will be up all night to get it done. They offered to take it all out, but I need these done by tomorrow so it's not an option and wouldn't fix the damaged velvet anyway. They still charged me $400 and every stitch has to come out and be redone. Awful!! And to be told that I said something that I absolutely did NOT say was disgusting.

When she picked up her dress alterations where 250.00. She paid 189.00 for her dress. I phoned to give them feedback today. They said she could have phoned the next day as they are too busy to give quotes when you drop off. Most alterations places can give a ballpark quote, especially if they have lots of experience with alterations. When I asked how many hours they worked on the dress. They could not answer that question either. Then I was told I am a horrible person for wanting to write an honest review. I told them I am trying to provide feedback. I want them to be upfront with how much they charge and that to expect the price to cost more than your dress. They should provide quotes on the spot. My daughter has learnt a hard lesson. Don't trust people who are not upfront about costs. Hard lesson for a young student to learn.
