We called and called and they took over a month to come back out and fix all the crap they did. Fast forward 2 years and our entire patio is wavy... had new company come out and they said that the last people who laid our patio not only cut corners and only put a 2" sand base, but that the patio wouldn't have lasted 5 years. They built it to where water puddles at our back door instead of running off to our driveway. AWEFUL customer service, the main guy told us to "fill in the sand ourselves" instead of having his men come back fix the areas that they flat out didn't do. Unbelievable. He cannot be trusted and his work product won't last more than a year at best.

I chose BDH because of positive past experience. This job included laying a flagstone patio with bender board edging, laying down stone garden edging and stone walking path. The team was on time, professional and diligent workers. I highly recommend BDH for the garden edging--lovely job. I was not present for the job but did have facetime views via my brother who was at my house in my absence. In hind site, I should have been present to monitor and inspect the work. I do not recommend BDH landscaping if you are hoping for a flagstone patio or stone pathway seen in BDH gallery photos or photos on the web in general. While my impression is that these workers did the best they could, I think the reason the overall look of the patio and flagstoned areas do not live up to the photos I see on line is most likely due to an inability for me to have a meaningful conversation with the two key BDH men (the owner Brad and chief guy Joel) most savy in how to achieve a particular look. One on one face to face conversation with either Joel or Brad prior to confirming the job would most likely have helped me understand the pros and cons of using bender board edging around patio. At this point, seeing the weakness of the bender board to hold secure in less than 7 days since the job was done, I strongly do not recommend using bender board as an edging method for a flagstone patio. BDH owner was effectively available by text or email and of course this really is not adequate for a job that ended up costing $10k-$11k. This amount does not cover the money I will spend on sprinkler head repair. I sincerely, hope the owner lives up to his promise of returning the week of July 11th to secure the bender board edging around the patio. Within less than one week at least two areas of bender board edging came unbound from stone patio creating tripping hazard and crushed granite spilling into yard. The other significant problem area was that a walking path stone was laid exactly over a visible sprinkler head. I will provide an update to this review pending BDH Landscaping owner, Brad, promise to secure bender board in a safe and longer lasting way the week of July 11, 2022.

The patio included the purchase of a grill recommended and sold by the company. Construction of the patio was completed in April of 2024. July 2024 the grill no longer works. We have been in constant contact with the company asking for help. This project was far from inexpensive and part of enjoying the patio is the ability to grill. Our GC said they had received other complaints on the grill they recommended and sold us. Per the GC they would give us another grill since there are known issues with the one they sold us. I had communication with the GC on the following dates: July 13, July 18, July 24, July 29, July 30, July 31, August 2, August 8, August 9, August 14, August 19, August 29, August 30, Sept 9, Sept 11, Sep 24, Oct 8, Oct 9, October 15. The whole time being promised we are working on it and want to do the right thing for you as our customer. I finally reach out to have my issue escalated to the owner and was told 1. No - I'm not getting a new grill (although they know this one has issues) 2. They haven't even begun the process to get the replacement part. We have been led on 4+ plus months through darn near weekly conversations "Of this sucks. We want to make it right. We are working on it" - to find out it has all been a big lie. Four months later and we still have no resolution.

Old school values, fair pricing, and competence!…read moreMarch 2022 I had Southwestern Roofing and others bid on a large project to replace decayed wood and replace old, dilapidated siding with Hardy Plank, upgrade gutters to larger size, paint and caulk the outside of my 2-story house and rebuild damaged wood and siding around chimney to prevent rain leaking into that area. Southwestern was the only bidder who presented a professional folder stating all the services were available through them including manufacturer's' information for top grade material they used. It included BBB, Manufacturer's, and customer review letters -all were top notch rated for a business that has been active in our communities for decades. BBB was A+. (Other bidders were F's or unrated but with serious complaints of taking money and not completing work). They provided their in-house professional construction, gutter, painting, and general contractors assessments of damage and needed repairs for a one-page final estimate and were easy to work with details, suggestions, and options. All were pleasant, thorough, attentive, thoughtful, helpful, and extraordinarily accommodating. I felt safe when they were around with respect to me and my property. The construction began promptly on the appointed date and the teams worked tirelessly from early morning to late in the evening to complete all the work in a few days, stopping only to keep me informed of any needed changes or confirm open estimate items- items that could not be known beforehand but estimated prices were already on the estimate before work began. They all smiled frequently as they worked and seemed to really enjoy doing their work and pleasing the customer. The best part for me personally was a door to the garage that stuck and was difficult to open all the time and no one had been able to fix it properly. Lorenzo and his crew came to clean my limestone floors. My floors are white and were needing a good…read moreclean. Limestone is a porous stone more delicate then marble. He was very knowledgeable and didn't over promise results. He was pretty firm on what he believed the outcome would be. We agreed he would clean and do a light hone vs a polish and then seal. My floors went from a off white to almost a bright white. It changed the whole look. The floors kept the matte look with a slight shine. The floors looks new again. I will repeat yearly with a good cleaning and seal. After completion he recommended proper maintenance and solutions to use for cleaning. His crew was great. Consider them on your next cleaning. Price is the cost of good work. You can't cheap out when dealing with stone. I think the price was fair for market. Really more pleased with the results I wanted.

I had my terrazzo floors supposedly diamond sanded to the tune of more than $3,000.00. The results…read morewere nothing like the results depicted in "before and after" photos here or on Facebook. My floors were clean , but they still looked pretty much the same as before. I was disappointed, but didn't make a fuss. However, in the 3-4 weeks since Total Finish treated my floors, large numbers of deep holes have been appearing in my floor, as if it is disintegrating. This morning so many new holes appeared that I called Lorenzo in a panic. He came by this evening and before even getting from the front door to the living room (while still in entryway) declared that the damage had already been there (even before seeing all of the damage). He then implied that I was lying. I immediately called the realtor and former homeowner IN FRONT of Lorenzo. When the former owner confirmed that the floors were not damaged at the time of sale, Lorenzo again insinuated that I was lying, implying that I wasn't actually talking to the former owner. I then texted several other witnesses who also confirmed the previous condition of my floors, yet Lorenzo refused to even consider that they might have caused the damage. The fact that he appeared to abdicate all responsibility before even seeing the extent of the damage, as well as calling me a liar, was disappointing. This is not the way a decent, honorable, honest, and ethical company does business. I am a nurse and work hard for my money. I don't have $3500 to flush down the drain and then pay even more to fix the damage this company caused. I feel cheated, scammed, insulted, and lied to. He then sent me a partial video in which the guys who actually worked on the floors appear to complain about not being tipped (as I had to go to medical appointment and they were not finished)? I would never hire this company to work on terrazzo floors, and I intend to pursue every avenue of lawful remedy available to me, including but not limited to taking them to court. They claim to offer a guarantee but then appear to attempt to wriggle their way out by falsely claiming any damage was pre-existing. This is not the way our fathers did business. Regardless, the damage present now (with new holes appearing daily) is NOT present in the video they themselves took. Something is seriously wrong with my floors, and these damages and ongoing issues were not present before Total Finish worked on my floors.added photos hope they upload.
