So when I talk about Delta barbecue, I'm coming from a place of love... and pretty high standards. Abe's is part legend, part myth, and all Crossroads. If it's your first visit, let me save you some confusion: yes, the tamales are one of the signature items at a barbecue joint. And yes, they're every bit as good as you've heard. I get mine with chili, slaw, and crackers, and I'll happily eat enough of them to make myself miserable--in the best possible way. Then it's time for a chili cheese dog, a pig sandwich with slaw, and enough sweet tea to float a jon boat.
