To sum, I was given a list of locations where I could do transactions with one having an non-existent address and the other branch not having a banking relationship with Navy Federal at all. While I was off work today, I drove out to the Navy Federal on Louis Henna Blvd in Round Rock, TX. I told Justin, the credit union representative, my story about the non-existent location and he told me they could not always update their list and that when I get close to a location I should use Google maps because their addresses could be off by a digit or street. He made this sound so normal. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. How about when financial institutions publish any locations the address should be precisely correct? Then I asked about what locations allowed deposits. He said I had you had to first filter the list from the text I was sent and based on the icons you could see precisely the locations. I filtered on the list and it did not filter as he expected. So, he then said that it works better on a personal computer (PC). Of course, nothing was conveyed regarding a PC filter when the link was texted to me. It only takes $5 to open an account at Navy Federal, i.e. low cost. At this juncture, I am wondering if all the benefits of being a Navy Federal Credit Union member that my brother espoused is really worth the effort. After the Navy Federal counter representative searched on my name and she could not find me in the system, she searched on my phone number and she could not find me in the system, and she finally found me by searching on our address. I asked why she was not able to find me with the previous searches. She said oh that just happens sometimes. I find Navy Federal Credit Union's mission ironic, "Our Members are the Mission." This may be the one and only transaction I do with Navy Federal. I do not currently see Navy Federal's value commiserate with the effort to do business.

He didn't have it right then because we were stuck in a three month long period of waiting for a DMV appointment to open up when I was not working and we could make it. He didn't have a valid ID prior due to a legal name change earlier this year. That date for the DMV happened to be less than two weeks ago. The paper ID was turned away everywhere we went as it wasn't considered valid, so we waited some more for the real one to come in. It arrived Tuesday of this week, during a busy at work, when I would be unable to take time away to drive down to Round Rock (we live in Jarrell) for my partner to cash this check. Today, finally, we got to the store, which we went to only after Speedy Cash had told us they couldn't do it due to the check being dated back in May (issued May 3rd, void on July 3rd). Called Ace before I headed there and was told, again, they'd cash it. Arrived and to my complete lack of surprise once more we had been openly lied to. They said it needs 10 business days to clear and they wouldn't do it with only 6 available before it expired. They could make an exception, sure, but we're not worth the risk. This was money for rent. It was money for food. That settlement check was for lost wages and it's going to expire now. We literally can't cash this check anywhere and I am very frustrated with even trying this place to begin with. I would absolutely NOT recommend them and I'll be passing this on to everyone I know. I then go to this location and they sit me in front of a tv screen and I wait for 20 minutes to talk to a banker who is in San Antonio, call lasted about 5 minutes to tell me I don't have everything I need and to call back once I have it. I'm ashamed because I use this bank for my personal auto loan. Would recommend using another bank if you want to speak face to face to an actual banker.
