They do good work for cheap. They are pretty quick. They are friendly, but seem to not socialize as much as other mechanics I've been to.

While working on your vehicle, if there are any additional problems found or potential change in charges, they will give you a call to inform you AND ask your permission to continue service. Their estimates are always spot on. They have the lowest prices around. If anything seems wrong after your repair they will take a look at no cost (this may vary depending on the issue). I am such a fan. I appreciate this facility and it's employees so much. In a world of auto cons and scammers, thank you Gravois Auto Repair for being so reliable and helpful!

That morning the check engine light came on again. Then they replaced the catallyric converter, the clock spring, the valve cover gasket, and pcv valve. Apparently none of this was discovered the first time I brought it in. This was on a Friday then over the weekend it started making a tapping noise. I brought it in Monday and they told me now the transmission needs to be replaced. Again this was not discovered either of the two times I brought the car in within two and an half weeks.Every time you have service done shortly afterwards another problem arises. They took me for $2700. I will never go back here and I'm selling the car basically for scrap and getting an electric car.

I have been a customer of Gravois Auto Repair for 10+ years. Yes, I said 10+ years! Why do I keep…read morecoming back? Trustworthy, honest, fair and local. After experiencing several dishonest auto repair places and dealing with additional damage and repairs they caused, I was fed up! A family member referred me to Gravois Auto and I have been taking my cars there ever since. I have also referred several family members and friends, who are also happy with the service they provide. Here is the way my visits at Gravois Auto go: I have a problem with my car and bring it in for them to check it out. I am greeted by one of the friendly employees at the front desk. I leave my car and shortly after, I receive a call stating the issue and the cost. They inform me of the problem and ask my permission before they start any work. I feel comfortable asking questions because they are answered in an informative, non-condescending manner. I "okay" the repairs, and a few hours later receive a phone call that my car is ready. If they are extremely busy that day they will let me know on the initial phone call that my car will be ready the next day, but this is rare. Generally, my car is the finished the same day (depending on what time I bring my car and what repairs are needed). I pay the bill, am given a detailed receipt of the work, pick up my car and have no further issues. In general, car issues and repairs can be stressful and expensive! I continue returning to Gravois Auto Repair because I don't want the additional worry of dishonesty and unfair prices/expenses.

But the price for the air filter was 43.98 and the labor (easy two clips and a hinge to change) was 44.70!!! Absolutely criminal. My step father has worked on cars for years and knows a lot about it and was shocked at what they charged. I will never go back to this place. Which is unfortunate because it's so close to his house.

Unless you know a mechanic there or are very knowledgeable about your car, I would suggest you not…read moreuse EcoTech. I recently purchased my first Subaru and wasn't very familiar with its engine. When the engine failed, I contacted EcoTech for service. I spoke with Misha, who quoted me $3,500 for the repair. After they received the car and disassembled it, Misha called and increased the price to over $7,000. Feeling I had no other options, I reluctantly agreed. I expected a rebuilt or new engine, but what I received looked like a junkyard unit. It used very old parts, and none of the brand-new components from my original engine were transferred over. I strongly suspect my good parts were kept and reused on other jobs. To make matters worse, the car now performs significantly worse than before. It feels very weak, with sluggish acceleration (0-60 mph in about 20 seconds) and constantly needs to downshift even on minor inclines just to maintain speed. I had also purchased new wheels after lowering the car, specifically ordering them with metal valve stems at an extra cost. EcoTech neither installed the new valve stems nor transferred the TPMS sensors from my old wheels. Additionally, they sent the car to an alignment shop and told me it would cost $120. I agreed because it was cheaper than my usual shop's $150 rate. However, I was ultimately charged $170 by the shop they recommended. Overall, I felt taken advantage of by EcoTech due to my limited knowledge of Subarus. Buyer beware -- I would never recommend or use them again.

He said he checked the antifreeze and it was still good to -50 below 0 and I should wait until my truck hit 100000 miles . They also check the brakes and I still have 60% of the pads left. It makes me feel great about the integrity of the shop that they just don't do work that isn't needed so they can make more money. I truly appreciate it. I like saving money anywhere I can these days . Thanks Gary for all you do.

It's taken a while to write this up. Life gets in the way. I…read moretook my Car to Marty's initially to figure out where an oil leak was occurring. The main problem was the smell of burning oil sometimes so it was obviously dripping on the exhaust somewhere and burning off. After the "diagnosis" I was giving a bill of over $1000 to fix it. Since I had a little extra cash I thought it would be nice to not have to mess with it and let them do it. I just replaced the plugs and intake cover gaskets myself. After the "repair" I still smelled the burning oil smell. I took it back and they said it was a seal on the end of the valve cover that was leaking now (All the way to the exhaust?). So now more money to "fix" that. Here's the fun part; When I picked up my car this time I noticed the hood wasn't closed. No big deal, I'll push it shut. I wish I would have opened it and looked. Fast forward a month or so and time for an oil change. As I open my hood I was shock to see the dipstick for the oil laying up by the windshield. They never put it back in. Looking around further I see that they had broken all the mounts for the upper radiator hose as well as the positive lead from the battery. Both of these were now dangerously close, about a half inch from a pully. No attempt was made to secure them in any way. I had to rig up zip ties. Like I said, I just did the plugs and intake cover gaskets so I know they were not broken. I took pictures of their handywork just in case. I took my car back to them to express my concern, and the fact that the original problem, the burning oil smell, is not fixed. (I'll leave out names) but he was apologetic, offered a free oil change. He assured me that the person who worked on my car "no longer works here". I said I would bring it back when I have time for them to look at it again. Fast forward a month or so and I drop it back by to have the continued oil burning problem looked at yet again. They put it on the lift and after a few minutes a guy comes over and asks me if "I want to see where my oil leak is". You mean what I paid you to fix in the first place?? He proceeds to show me the timing cover leaking, right over the exhaust pipe. Gee. It looks like that was the problem the whole time. The worst part: He says to me, "I'm the guy that worked on this car the first time". So the other guy flat out lied to my face by telling me the guy that worked on my car "no longer works here". Unbelievable. So, they took my money and "fixed" everything except what I paid them to fix. So now, I asked how much is it to fix the timing cover gasket? I was met with "We don't do those here." I swear I thought he was joking with me. They knew they don't do that repair but took my money to replace things they knew would not fix the problem. It's a shame we live in a time where you simply can't trust anyone to do honest work.
