I took a ride at Rush Cycle in Encinitas last weekend with a friend of mine and it dawned on me that it didn't at all live up to any of my experiences at CycleBar. There's so much to say about CycleBar but what makes CycleBar unique is that it's based on making you live and enjoy every moment during every minute of class and reminds you to do the same even outside of the classes. It's the fact that each class, whether it's a connect class (where you cover the monitors) actually makes you feel something instead of just going through the motion of riding a bike. I can't say enough about the instructors there and every time I go to their classes, it's me who feels lucky that they take the time to get to know you and all of them make you feel like you're actually a part of something. Some instructors even encourage song requests but it's also a true fact that CycleBar brings so much value in bringing the San Elijo and the Carlsbad communities together. I feel like I know more people in my community than in the 5 years I've lived in San Elijo and it's thanks to CycleBar. Great studio, with showers and is always a clean facility. CycleBar is the highlight of my day, every single day and I feel very proud to be a member and hope that CycleBar stays open for a very long time, because it definitely "sparks joy" in my life. Also, great customer service! It's nice to ride in a safe environment, where no one is judging you and it's a fun atmosphere. CYCLEBAR - I took Kelly's class this morning - probably my 75th class with her - and it was a Mumford vs Florence theme ride! - Cycling Classes Near Me - San Marcos, California

Schedule is extremely limited and membership is overpriced for how little you get. I must say that customer service is also poor. They all seem burned out and apathetic. It often takes Kelly, the older lady who works there, 3 or more days to return messages if she bothers to get back to you at all. General vibe is that they just want your money and for you to leave them alone. The dwindling class sizes are reflective of this so I can't see them being in business much longer. The studio was very nice and clean when they first opened but now it has developed a terrible smell. I'm told it's a signature brand of air fresher they use to cover up the sweaty body odor. The towels they provide also have a harsh chemical smell. None of this seems healthy and makes my lungs burn when I exercise. What is most frustrating is that they keep cancelling classes. It makes it really hard to develop a routine when every class I take gets cancelled or the teacher quits. You can also count on them cancelling classes for every holiday, plus all the days before and after each holiday or when the power is out ... or for any other reason that they just feel like cancelling class. For the same membership cost of $99 a month you can join any other full service fitness center to get unlimited cycle classes plus Yoga, Pilates and a full gym so it's not a good value for me to pay for something that no longer fits my schedule. I think every time they cancel classes however they should pro-rate your membership fee. They charge you a fee if you don't show for class so they should reciprocate whenever they cancel or when your bike doesn't work or when the class stats malfunction etc. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Cyclebar San Elijo Hills! The studio appeals to people of all ages and ability levels. Cyclebar is a very clean facility equipped with top notch spin bikes that make the ride very enjoyable. Your stats are emailed out at the end of each class to track your progress along with the playlist from each class. Each class offers a unique riding experience and the classes are taught by high energy instructors who are very passionate about what they do. The different instructors all have their own personal flare that makes each ride different from the next. They do an amazing job of motivating and inspiring the riders through their well planned out playlists. They also go out of their way to get to know their riders, which is so cool! Cyclebar also does a great job of making each class a full body workout by incorporating time for arms and adding in upper body choreography. However, Cyclebar is so much more than just a GREAT workout. Each class offers a time for self reflection that will leave you with a smile on your face at the end of each 45 min class. The owners, Kelly and Keith, go above and beyond to make sure that each rider feels welcome at cyclebar. They do a great job of welcoming first time riders and making them feel apart of the cyclebar family. They really care about their clients! I've been to a number of different spin studios, but nothing compares to the feeling at CycleBar SEH. Cyclebar San Elijo Hills has been a great addition to the community! This studio is the perfect balance of fancy and the warm feel of a family run business. As a business owner myself, I appreciate details and great customer service. Every class has great music (I absolutely love EDM) and instructors are all so heartfelt and motivating. I drive over 160 miles a day and no matter how tired I am, there is always great energy in the classes to get me pumped. It is the best way to get me moving, reflect, and better myself physically and mentally. I love that it's so easy to reserve classes online and they have the shoes ready for you in a cubby when you get there. I love this boutique spin studio in San Elijo Hills, there is honestly nothing I can say bad about the CycleBar except for maybe the locker area space when classes get out can be hectic, but if you anticipate the rush or wait your turn it is a non issue. Where do I start with all of the great things: 1) First, The design of the studio is just so clean and modern, right down to every little detail was thought out. The front desk people were so friendly and very helpful. Actually walked me around and showed me the studio. 2) I took the second grand opening class with Lindsay Whom is a bad ass with her own personal spin style which made the class unforgettable. Her song choice was always bumping, and I love how it feels like a club the second you step in, I learn all my new songs at spin class. 3) Everyone who works there makes you feel comfortable and like family when you are there, there are no snobby people who think they are too good for you there. 4) Those have to be the nicest bikes I have ever seen and you don't have to pay for shoes....bonus points. 5) I LOVE THEIR RETAIL, I got myself a new outfit the fashion is on point, and is a real detriment to my wallet. 6) All of their the toiletries are amazing. Just completed my trial week for only $29. Tried 4 classes and they all rocked!! I immediately signed up for the 8 classes a month membership, and the $29 was even discounted from the first month! Overall I find the prices really reasonable for the quality of the studio and classes. They have EVERYTHING you need! Your shoes are included and ready in your size in the cubby with your bike #. They give you a free bottle on your first class that you can fill with the filtered cold water station. And towels are waiting in your bike. I had never done anything like this before and I just recently went to my very first class. It was just after 5am and everyone there was so welcoming. The brand new facility looked awesome. I got my shoes, got adjusted on my bike and was ready to go. Our instructor Jeannine was amazing! Firstly because she is in incredible shape and I want to be her, but also because she was so motivating. And I don't mean just "go, go, go!" But while riding she acknowledged that for some of us, it was our first time and she opened up about how she first got into fitness. I've struggled with getting back into shape since having my son but I think I've found my go-to place. I highly recommend joining this amazing group of people! read more

Not even disappointed!- My 3rd Cycle and the staff and instructors has been nothing but amazing. From the moment you walk in everyone greets you with a smile. One of the staff will always be ready to show you around the studio. One of the many things I love about the studio are the attentive and kind instructors! I've cycled with instructors Dana and Jeannine in the early AM classes and they have been nothing but kind and supportive. They show you how to set up and makes sure your posture and bike is set the right way. They even approach you after class by name and ask you how you feel and if there's anything else they can do to help you. I definitely feel the family vibe. You will never feel out of place. I am hooked. I have never liked Spin classes- found them boring, monotonous. However, I tried CycleBar last week and I loved it. I am actually getting up at 4:40 in the morning to attend a 5:15 am class because I feel GREAT the rest of the day. Let me add, I'm normally a 9 or 10:00 am workout person. I've attended classes from three different instructors- each of them motivating and fun and tough! In addition to getting a phenomenal workout, the facility is clean and crisp and they take care of literally everything. No need for shoes- they provide them for free. Forgot your water bottle, no worries they have them for you. For heaven's sake I forgot my socks (remember I am getting up at 440 in the morning. It happens) for a nominal fee, I can get socks. However, the icing on the cake????? Cool, fresh eucalyptus scented towels upon exiting the class. read more

She really motivates and encourages you the whole time without making you feel pressured to do anything you aren't ready for, which I really appreciate. This studio is incredible! It is so modern and beautiful inside. The staff make you feel like you've entered a high end gym.
