This CYCLEBAR location is awesome. Located right in L&L Market, there is plenty of parking, and it is ideal for hanging out before or after. I have been to several locations. The staff are so kind, welcoming and helpful at arrival. The coaches are all so motivating and positive. You get a good workout in a short period of time.

One of the very first things I noticed about this local business is the fact that they included pronouns of all their instructors directly next to the class name. I thought that was so inclusive and awesome...and to be honest, I have never seen it before in any fitness or yoga class I've ever attended. It says so much to me about their values as a studio. I attended the trauma informed yoga class with Sarah via ZOOM. I really appreciated how easy the studio made it for me to find the link and that the process was seamless. Another thing that attracted me to the studio was that I was astounded with the diversity of experience, education, and the focus on mental and spiritual health that their website explained for instructors. For example, Sarah is a body positive advocate that doesn't believe in diet culture or fatphobia. She has a focus on trauma informed practices and making yoga accessible to all bodies. Her bio online says she has worked with many different organizations as a licensed master social worker. It makes a huge difference when the folks who teach trauma yoga classes actually know what they are doing versus trying to implement something they read in a book. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the studio, even if my own computer issues did force me to have to log out early (if you're reading this Sarah, sorry about that!) If I find myself near music Row in Nashville I wouldn't hesitate to take another yoga class at this wonderful place.

I found this gym through a long search for trauma informed yoga classes. As of Feb 2022, this gym is the only gym/studio in town that offers these classes and they're once a month on Sunday afternoons. The teacher was good and the class was very chill and low intensity. To attend that class, I bought 14 days for $14. As a first year teacher, I try to get my money's worth out of things so I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and sign up for a class. The gym is a little hard to find your first time depending on where you're coming from, since it's underneath the yoga studio at street level. I came in, nervous and not knowing what to expect. I had signed up for Sweat with Jess, the owner. Sweat is a circuit class, but there's a lot of flexibility on what exercises you actually do. Jess led us in a warm up then explained the first circuit, but I must have looked like a deer in the headlights. She came up to me and quietly asked if I needed some help and I said yes please. She got me some small weights, demonstrated, then stayed with me until I got it. She was fantastic at checking in with me throughout the class in a quiet, respectful way. I've never met a class instructor like her, who was equal parts personable and professional. She was so encouraging, kind, funny, and clearly knew her stuff. It was a good workout, but I really appreciated that she told us to listen to our bodies and do what we needed. The class flew by too, which I have never said about a workout class. I've already signed up for my next class! I cant even put all the amazing things about this gym in a review, partially because my hands are sore from the kettlebell. I highly recommend checking out their website, they have a fantastic vision/ purpose.

It reminded me a bit of a rowing version of Soul Cycle or Cycle Bar. The lights were dimmed, and the focus was put on the numbers as a group. I really enjoyed the collective mentality around rowing success. Upon entering, the staff sweetly greet you and give you a quick introductory row lesson for you to keep up with the rest of the class. I had some experience already, but I really appreciate how kind everyone was from the get-go. The enthusiasm was infectious, and the other rowers were also quite excite about the class. They only part that I believe I should warn anyone going into Row House about is their intense marketing. While I enjoyed the class, I needed time to think about committing to a package, but I was never afforded that. Upon exiting the class, the front desk began asking me to commit to a monthly or other pass. I kept repeating that I needed time to think about it. It just...felt like they couldn't take no for an answer, and I was hounded by follow-up texts and calls for weeks afterwards. I ended up responding when the representative on the phone made an incorrect assumption about how I felt about the class. I felt positively about the class, but was totally off-put by the intense communication aftewards. Other than that, it was great. Parking is reasonable, and there's a private lot in the back. Definitely give it a shot if you're in the area! It's a great workout.

The instructor, Sarah, was there to introduce herself and give me the tips/tricks on how this class was going to be and how to get the right row form. The check-in process was easy by telling the front desk your name and putting your personal items in the self-lock lockers they provide. Note you will get assigned a rower so you CAN'T hide in the back, which is awesome, really got me outside of my comfort zone. There are different type of classes a 80/20, 50/50 or 60/40 type meaning more rowing vs. more full-body floor exercises. There is also packages that you can purchase and its great to include with your workout regiment.

I've been coming here for 9-ish years and have seen athletes of all levels join FFN. Some are new, some are injured, some are pregnant, all have a place. I really like how the coaches get to know each member's skill and comfort level over time--if you want to push yourself, they'll gladly help you do it (safely)! I've had plenty of different gym memberships across town depending on where I lived at the time - but I won't be back to this one. Let's start with the good. Location is great, fees are not bad, small gym (which is fine). These are initial observations when I signed up. Now, we shimmy on over to the "not-so-good" part of the review. I got to GFA at 5:45 AM and popped into the restroom really quick. Very dirty restroom. Honestly... disgusting. So I simply deduce either a) no one cares to clean up after themselves here or b) no one is on staff during the night to make sure the customers needs are being met. I took pictures to share, but I'll spare you (you're welcome). Not a deal breaker, but not an amazing start. The first treadmill I jumped on didn't work (touch screen controls seemed to be completely dead). No big deal. The second didn't work either (same issue). The third treadmill took a lot of work to get going, but it finally worked. I noticed that there was a TON of dirt caked inside the treadmill air vents (I included a picture) which are pointed directly at your face while running. Also, not awesome. I ran with a wince for 45 minutes. Additional observations. Weight room is very small (don't love to workout in tight spaces - again, personal preference), there are no showers, and FOX news was blaring all morning. Unfortunately at this time, I cannot recommend GFA and will not be extending my membership. I hope your experience is better than mine should you choose them for your local gym.

The facilities are clean, people are driven, and you feel in good company working on your fitness. I enjoyed finding a rhythm with like-minded people, and the option for some coffee at the end after a ridiculously early workout session. The workers were always polite and even helped me with a few issues here and there faced by typical gym-goers: a lost locked, a door dinged in the parking lot, etc. Everyone was extremely understanding and thoughtful in the midst of my in-the-moment distress. The facilities here are extensive: a whole power rack and weight room on the base floor, a more cardio-focused room on the second, another "express gym" area on the second, and even an outdoor free and power rack area outside with punching bags on turf. I really love that they have pretty new, innovative machinery implementing relatively immersive AI or gamnified exercise. It's both exciting and fun, especially when you're not the biggest fan of redundant activity like me. I love seeing all people of different generations and backgrounds workout out here. It makes me feel like everyone belongs.
