My partner and I decided to bring my sister-in-law for her first class, we called ahead to reserve the extra bike. Upon entry the studio manager Lauren Mallozzi was extremely standoffish and rude. Lauren will be the reason I will not be coming back to this studio because of her horrible customer service and inability to articulate an explanation for not permitting my sister-in-law to the studio. Lauren was more focused on her computer, gave me the wrong size shoes and completely lost sight of COMMUNITY/what SoulCycle stands for. I urge this studio to treat loyal customers better. There was no reason for her demeanor and dismissive energy.

Orange Theory in Fairfield has stolen over $2,000 from us and will not correct the issue. In April…read moreof 2023 I went in for a trial day at Orange Theory Fairfield. Mo, the manager said that in order to do the trial day I had to sign a contract, but that I could cancel same day. I did cancel same day and they and I do have that on file. They continued to charge my American Express for a total 18 months and never turned it off. I called a month after the visit to ask them to refund the charges, they said they would but it would take 15-30 days. Every month after that I continued to call to remind them that the charges had not stopped and that we had not been refunded. November of 2024 I asked them to please escalate this as it had not been addressed or resolved. Mo, the manager said he was handling it through their finance department and again it would take some time. I went in to the location with my husband today and asked if we could have the name of the person who CAN fix this, as they are now saying "they have asked for it to be fixed, no one has fixed it, and that's all 'they' can do. The manager Ralph today, said he can't do any more to help us. Again we asked for the name of the person who CAN help us and he said "Rich." We asked for Rich's contact info an Ralph refused. We have stopped getting calls back from Mo or Ralph. Does anyone know who this "Rich" is? How do we get contact info for him? Or even someone at the operating company "Empire?" This has been an epic run around for us and we still have not been reimbursed. So far we have: 1. Contacted Mo (Manager) who has promised many times it would be refunded, he has stopped returning calls. 2. Contacted Ralph (Regional Director) in November, no call back. Went in today and spoke with him in person, he says he can't help. He said "someone" told him to stop helping, and now that he has been told to stop helping, he will, in fact, stop helping. He will not tell us who this "someone" is. 3. I have filed a complaint with the attorney generals office and left several messages. No response. 4. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, no response. 3/3/2025 I just confirmed with American Express that no attempts have been made on either of my cards. Mo at Orange theory keeps claiming that he is trying to issue a refund, but American Express confirms they have not tried. And they can't claim they don't have the correct credit card info, because they successfully charged the card for 18 months unauthorized. Per AmEx both cards I have given Orange theory are active and in good standing, no restrictions.

Staff are positive and always remember clients' names. (I'm terrible with names, so this is really impressive.) All of the instructors are excellent too! They're very knowledgeable and focused on their students having correct technique. If you're thinking about trying a barre workout, definitely check out Bar Method. I've been active my whole life, although less so for the last 4 years. Bar Method is an entirely different approach to exercise than anything I've done before. The focus on Bar Method is on small (tiny, even) isometric movements. By the way, "isometric" means "same length" and an isometric movement is one that engages your muscle without contracting it. I actually recognize a lot of the movements from when I did physical therapy for my back almost 15 years ago. Bar Method is completely different than any other workout I have ever done. It took me about 3 classes to adjust to the new positions and the flow of class, and for the first two classes I questioned whether I was getting a good workout. However, the day after class as soon as I got out of bed I could very clearly tell that I had. I wasn't really sore the way I am after lifting weights or running or anything else. Instead, I was a little bit achey everywhere we had worked. I could FEEL that my muscles had been worked. Over the last 5 weeks, I've noticed some changes that I really attribute to Bar Method. My arms are more defined, the shape of my legs is changing. I'm also sleeping better than I have in a long time. If you, like me, walk out of your first and second classes thinking "Eh, I'm not sure" I'd really encourage you to go back a few more times just to make sure you're not missing out on something that you really will click with if you give it more time. Through classes this summer, I had the chance to meet some of the Bar Method teachers. Bridget is the owner and has been teaching for a while. She clearly knows what she's doing in class, and has authority in her voice that makes you not want to quit even when whatever she has you doing is really tough. You can't see what numbers are on the bikes. Too many bikes in room. Remove a few will ya? Managers- wipe down the trim on the walls, get rid of circus colors and make sure machines are cleaned too! I moved to Danbury last summer from Westchester, and had previously belonged to New York Sports Club. When their spin schedule no longer fit with my work schedule, I decided to give Prime Time Fitness a try. My mother had recently joined, so I went with her as a guest to see if I liked it before joining. The spin classes are okay - not the greatest music selection and a lot of the bikes are unstable and feel very old. The yoga class was a complete joke. I've never in my life done yoga in a brightly lit room led by someone who seemed as though he was making up the sequences as he went along. It was more of a stretching/toning class coined as yoga. I figured I would still use the gym if only for the spin class. However, the class instructors don't pick the greatest music, which is a big problem for me. Moreover, there are no towels and no water fountains in this gym. I've never before seen that. For $70 a month, I expect much more. When I signed up, I told the person I met with that I was joining this gym primarily because there is no contract involved like there is at New York Sports Club. He didn't tell me at the time that there is, in fact, a stipulation that you need to make 12 payments before you are allowed to cancel, or else pay a $200 early termination fee. I didn't learn of this until I cancelled this week. Save your money and go somewhere else - don't use this gym until they improve their standards.
