Folks,
I would like you to be aware of deceitful practices that are done by this "workout" place.
This post will be short for now, but I will update with more details when I get more time.
Last year I decided to cancel my m2m membership. A studio staff asked me not to do it and put it on-hold instead. Then three months later, I called and asked to extend the hold since the summer has come, and I will be riding outside. So, the hold was supposed to be till Aug 31st. I called before the end of August to inquire about another extension, since I really didn't need it yet, and was informed that it was canceled. So, not a big deal, and I moved on.
Then in December, I get an e-mail saying that my membership is past due. I immediately contacted the owner and briefly described what actually happened. Then, I explained to him that I might be interested in restarting the membership, but I will let him know at the beginning of the year after all of the craziness is over, to which he agreed.
In mid-January, the company gets sold. Then, the last week I am being informed of three months balance for the membership that I NEVER agreed to restart. So, I contacted the studio and got ahold of the new owner. He stated that he could not do anything, and I need to speak with the old owner. The former owner said that he has nothing to do with the studio, and only the studio can fix this issue. The same was confirmed by the Cyclebar billing department. Meanwhile, the current owner refuses to resolve the issue.
Summary:
They canceled my membership without my knowledge.
Then they restart it without my knowledge, nor authorization.
Now the new owner blames the old, and the former owner accuses the new. So, someone is lying here.
They also canceled my "active" membership as of Fed 5th, but yet trying to collect payment for the whole month of Feb.
The new owner now went silent and ignores my attempts to reach him.
The studio is not sending me a copy of an m2m agreement I signed.
I am planning on either take it to arbitration (hense, need a copy of the contract), or I will start litigation against this extortion of money.
I am currently planning to file a complaint it with FTC, the local chamber of commerce, Secretary of State, BBB, Southwest plaza administration, and some others if I can think of it.
This is simply a wicked attempt to extort money.
PS Go across the street to Chuze. They have good classes, especially if Kammy is a trainer. My ladies love it there. read more
