So I brought my mountain bike into the car wash to spray down and I had just ordered a $35 bike maintenance kit from Amazon to clean up my rusty bike chain so I could get back into riding again. While I was spraying the bike down I see Cycle Mania literally right across the street and honestly I had forgotten we even had such a place here. I got on the phone to them and ended up swinging by there after spraying the bike down and they basically told me "Forget Amazon, give us that $35 and we'll install a brand new chain on your bike right now." So I got on Amazon and fortunately they hadn't shipped my kit yet, so I cancelled that and now have a brand new chain on my bike and ready to start riding on my conquerors challenges starting next week instead of just walking 4 days a week! Terrible customer service!!! I called about a friend's bike that they were servicing, Mike was extremely rude. I asked about the fork on the bike and he told me to come in if I wanted to know what model fork was on the bike. The staff was very friendly and helpful Is in the selection of a used bicycle. My biggest concern has been my fit to the proper sized bike. With age we all shrink in height, leg length and flexibility. I no longer fit my my old Specilized RockHopper, which is still in excellent shape. read more

Worst service ever. I'm a regular cyclist, tri guy, etc. But I'm brand new to tubeless tires. Bad luck gave me a flat on my very first tubeless ride. kind of funny. I brought my bike into this shop during their VERY limited hours to get some quick help patching, resealing (?) my tire for the first time and was told "we are backed up and since you didn't BUY THE BIKE HERE I cannot help you" Really? A potential new customer being turned away on what I assume a good mechanic can fix in 20-30 minutes. The mechanic, who obviously didn't want to be bothered did tell me "I can sell you a tube or tire" and you can go deal with it yourself, basically. Maybe they are "backed up" because they are open less than half the hours of most retail businesses. 0a-4p M-F, 11a-1p Sat hours. Come on!? I took my bike and business elsewhere. My new gear will be delivered next day from an online seller for $3.99 overnight shipping premium. I'm just in shock about our experience!! My hubby's back tire kept blowing out. We were camping and we wanted our bikes so we went to Cycle Mania. We explained the tire had blown out several times. He looked at the tire and offered us a new tube. We asked how much for him to install since we assumed we were installing incorrectly causing a blow out. The dude "fixes" the tire and hubby puts it in the back of the truck as we checked out a neighbor store. We heard a loud bang and immediately knew the tire blew up again. We took it back into the store and the other guy checks the tire and says it is a bad tire. HE DID NOT OFFER US A REFUND!!!!! We paid for the tire and the installation and it blew up just minutes later!!!!!!! They RIPPED US OFF!!!!!!!! Shame on this business!!!! They should have been professional enough to notice the tire problem and if NOT, then refund us for YOUR mistake!!! We went to KMart and bought a new tire and tube and we were cycling happy, NO thanks to Cycle Mania!!!!! I WANT A REFUND!!! read more

(I am Yelping for a friend who had her bike repaired at Cycle Mania). First, they gave excellent customer service. My friend and I travel the USA in our respective RVs, and were only in town a few days, but the bike shop had many bike repairs already scheduled. However, they were able to repair her bike in a couple of days, ahead of schedule and below estimate, and we were back on the road. Don't expect this place to help you if your in town and need a quick fix, they WONT. I have a place up here and forgot my tools and needed something fixed that would have taken 15 minutes and was told NO we can get to you in a week or two. Someone needs to learn about customer service. I've biked all over the US and bike shops have always helped out a biker in need EXCEPT here. So unfortunate. I ride with a group over a thousand in the valley and I will not recommend this place when up here. I did call the Pinetop Bike shop and they were way more willing to help. I ended up ordering parts from Jenson USA which I'm sure will be cheaper and I'll fix it myself when I get home. It would be nice to have a place up here that can be counted on for an emergency fix. Lesson learned, don't forget your tools because Cycle Mania doesn't care about customer service and helping the bike community with a 15 minute fix. read more

They pulled out a map to discussed some options, highlighted a great route and checked our tires for the proper amount of air. Forest service road 182 was an excellent trail. They are lucky to be the only shop in the area. Went in to get a tune up and a couple new tires for my Santa Cruz. First had to wait while the "mechanic" decided to train another person on the POS system. The while eating the mechanic finally got around to me (no one else in the store). Inquired about tune up and tires. Was told it would be "days". When I inquired what he meant by "days" he had no clue. I asked could he put me down on his list and call me when time was close that he could do it. Got nothing but resistance. I explained I ride almost everyday and did not want to leave my bike for "days" and if he could simply add me to the list and call when he could do it - again nothing but a blank stare. I would rather drive to Prescott and have it done then give this place a dime. Only reason they are in business? The only game in town. read more

I am new to the area, from the city, and was so happy to find a local bike shop. I went in shortly before they were closing and the staff were wonderful. Todd and Roger gave me some great tips and maps of the local area and gave me everything i needed to get online with the local bike community. Customer service was awesome. Stopped in Cycle Mania yesterday to buy a tube. When I went to pay for it I was told if I use my debit card I had to purchase a minimum of $10 worth of merchandise. I explained to the employee that I did not have any cash on me, he told me to buy 2 tubes and the problem would be solved. What gives with that? I have had dealings with the Cycle Mania crew in the past with poor results, I have found them to be aloof and indifferent. Back in 2013 I bought 2 tubes and two 700c tires from them, payed $75 per tire. I asked the guy helping me if they would install them for me. He said that service would cost extra then bagged on my old Vuelta rims while installing them. He then threw a hissy fit when I requested the presta to shrader adapters that came with the tubes I just purchased. I just spent $190.00 in his shop and the guy cried over giving me the 50 cent adapters that came with the tubes I had just bought. When we finally completed our transaction I did not get even one "Thanks for your business, please come again." It will be a cold day in Hades before I will ever darken the doors step of Cycle Mania again. read more

I had the same experience as Eric and Kevin. I was told there is a 2 week repair wait. I clarified that I just need a tube replaced on my child's bike. They said they are the only shop in town and could sell me a tube but that was it. I was looking to buy a mountain bike there but I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I read the Yelp reviews while searching for a bike shop in Show Low to buy some bar tape and have my bars wrapped. I saw the review from Kevin S. and was skeptical of what he wrote, but then I had the identical experience. The person who helped me was willing to sell me bar tape, but when I asked if they could wrap my bars either that day or the next, he asked if I bought my bike there. I hadn't. He then told me that I would have to wait at least a week, turned his back on me, and walked away. Not exactly the most helpful attitude, and certainly not a tourist-friendly approach to doing business in a town with a fair amount of tourism. I'm sure it's a fine shop otherwise, but if you're visiting from out of town, don't count on getting quick service. read more
