I have been going there 12 years , I have work with Jen since then . I have never been disappointed with there service . The employees don't control what is in the store or the prices.I have meet good friends there and so has my son . I WILL NOT shop anywhere else . Everyone is entitled to there opinion, but if you don't know what you are talking about you need to shut the hell up. They have the best staff around, Jason ,Sam , Spencer,Austin etc . The manager is Jen if you have any problems she is always there . I am tired of hearing all the lies people print because they are not waited on like little kids . Shout out to JJ, Over the weekend I came buy to purchase a Shoei Helmet & Jacket. JJ has plenty of patience with me, helped me get test fitted, and even installed the visor for me. Above and Beyond satisfied with his help and service, (give the man a raise) lol cause he has knowledge, patience and also a plus he didn't try to up sell me, he told me straight up what was in my price range, gave me multiple options, and just wanted to make sure I i was safe and happy with my purchase! I've been a customer at Cycle Gear for quite some time & have spent over $1000 in accessories at the Modesto store in this year alone. I've attended the evening events with my boyfriend & have always had a great experience at the Modesto store. Today, I was absolutely infuriated at "Drew", an insufferable punk who involved himself in my return transaction regarding a battery charger that never worked. He accused me of "breaking it", and I told him three times that it NEVER worked and I was returning it for a refund. He obviously didn't believe me and made the girl who was attempting the refund to my credit card, go back twice to get batteries to 'test' it in front of me. I told him he was not only wasting my time, but making me very angry in the process. When I asked him what the difference was if it was defective or broken, as it hadn't been 30 days since I purchased it. He fooled around with it repeatedly until he came to the conclusion that it "didn't work". He said he would give me 'store credit'; whereupon I told him that I'd never spend another dime in this store. He was disrespectful and rude, and I asked to speak to the manager, but was told she wasn't there. The poor girl who was trying to refund my credit card apologized & said she was 'new', but I have no complaint about her. I can excuse her delay due to inexperience. What I cannot stand is being disrespected because I am a female and accused of breaking a part and then returning it. You've lost both myself and my boyfriend as customers due to an arrogant punk employed in your store. read more

I went to pick up my tire because it was completed..i show up and bead is ripped and also not seated..i askes them to seat the bead and i hear a loud explosion in the back..the "technician" comes out and says they blew the tire off the bead and need to replace the tube. I get the tire home and installed on the bike...i ride it 100yrds and the ripped bead pops off the bead and punctures the tube..i return the wheel and tell them the situation..the smart ass behind the counter tells me that i need to pay for the tube and tire. He continues talking crap to me. The girl that popped the tube and bead is sitting there not saying anything then proceeds to tell me im ignorant because i wanted my wheel returned in the condition they received it..how dare i! read more

Cycle gear used to be my choice for gear and tire changes. But the Modesto store has let me down again. I brought my tire in to be changed. I purchased the tire from them earlier this year now needed them changed. I was the second tire customer in the store when they opened. Drew informed me that they should be done by end of day. I called at 530pm and he said they arent done yet as they were preparing for the bike night. I show up at 730 and my tires has bot moved from the spot I left them. The female that I finally waved down to find out why they have not been done said they were busy with bike night. I told her nevermind i will take them. She says " okay whatever, we have 48 hrs turn around on tire changes". So I will just take my business to Revzilla.com where they know what customer service is. Thanks again cycle gear. read more

My son and I were on a trip and needed to pick up a moped in Stockton on the way back to Sacramento. We had purchased a Trackside Motorcycle Carrier from Cycle Gear in Fresno. And realized we needed to get the tie down straps and wheel straps. So on our way from Fresno to Stockton, we stopped at Cycle Gear in Modesto. We had the BEST customer service experience there. The manager Jen and her employees were incredibly helpful. They made sure we got the right straps and the right set of tools (metric, not standard) to put together the carrier. My son and I put together the carrier in their parking lot and hooked it to the tow hitch. It was reasonably straightforward, but we are not mechanically inclined. The manager's husband happened to be stopping by and saw us and came over to help. We couldn't have done it without him. Jen and her team were kind and attentive and patient. We had the same positive customer service experience at Cycle Gear in Fresno. I have to say we will be life-long customers of Cycle Gear. read more

Its another Cycle Gear.. I've run in to some helpful people here, but not every employee. There was a young girl who was downright awesome!

Messed me up. Called three times in the week leading up to my visit since i was driving from 40 miles away. We had a plan (wait a few hours while they replaced the tire). Despite this, when i arrived, they simply said no, you must leave it all day, come back tonight. And with a "couldn't care less" attitude. They lost me as a customer for good. Staff is extremely friendly and willing to help. Wide variety of items to choose from and they sometimes have some killer sales!

All of my safety gear is from Cycle Gear, it was a bit expensive but who can really put a price on being safe? I read a review about how customers were ignored, the only time I had a complaint about Cycle Gear is that they didn't hire me lol If you go in and need help usually they'll see ya roaming around lost and they'll be attentive. But if ya go in there and give them "looks" the employees who are educated and experienced are not equipped to read minds. Basically you get what you put into your experience. Cycle Gear may sell tires but not have a service shop, or they might talk to other friendly guests while you struggle to figure out which safety coat you want, but overall Cycle Gear is a great place to stop if you don't want to be charge dealership prices. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service here, or LACK THERE OF, is garbage. These people don't help at all. I've had to drive out of town to receive respect and service I deserve as a customer. The store is quite small, and stock is limited. As for the manager, he doesn't seem to want returning customers at all. Don't waste your time, shop elsewhere. Cycle gear is great, but not this location. read more

This place reminds me of what a motorcycle store was like way back in the 60's and 70's. They have great customer service. They stock a fine selection of apparel. There's plenty of other items to maintain your bike too. The prices are right there with shopping on line prices which amazed me. I would like to point out that Drew dropped everything he was doing to replace a tire for my Honda Goldwing, not once but twice on two different occasions. What blew my mind is he did the work while I waited!! Everywhere else takes days and seems like it's a burden. Where do you get service like that these days? When I get consistent first class treatment like this, it's a no brainer where I'll keep going. read more

The few times i've been in the store the staff were very friendly and helpful, they don't carry everything but they can usually order it no problem. Also the staff seem to be on top of their game (especially Jen). I'am only giving four stars instead of five because of the lack of inventory. read more

I called ahead to make sure they had a 530 Rivet master link in stock. I spoke to "Sam" (female) and she assured me that they indeed had several in stock and to come on in. I drove 30 miles to find out they did not have them in stock. Jen the manager was extremely rude and even advised me to go to a competitor instead of fixing the situation. I asked if she could take one from a box and she rudely said "No"... What a waste of time. I will never go there again and advise everyone else to steer clear of that place. Jen is a very poor and incompetent manager and has no idea what customer service is. To advise a customer to use a competitor instead of remedying the situation is absurd.
